Amazing college and great value for money! I had awful exam anxiety and Barts gave me a huge confidence boost for my A-Level retakes. They helped me to achieve the grades I wanted and were so supportive and kind throughout the process. Highly recommend!

My school career was a little unorthodox. I fell ill during my GCSE years and ended up having to resit them, which is when Barts came into the picture. Helen Pearce was my academic supervisor and from the moment I met her I felt safe, supported and just really happy to be where I was. Katie Hildreth, who is now the director of studies, was equally phenomenal, kind and generous with her time I felt I could always come to talk to her about anything, however ridiculous, and she would always lend me an ear and a smile.
This might seem irrelevant but coming to a tutorial college is different and scary, some students there have had personal difficulties with education and having that kind of pastoral care is of the upmost importance.
The tutors are equally amazing. My GCSE teachers helped me get back on track, I retook most of my exams by January, and one of my grades rocketed from a 2 to a 9. Yes, a 9!
After finishing my GCSES I went travelling and then moved on to a 6th form college. Within the first term I asked my parents if I could get supplementary tutorials at Barts and I was back there once a week.
Soon enough I returned to Barts full time
For A levels I took History, Philosophy and English Literature and all three of my tutors Ant, Lyndsay and Rowan were first class. Dedicated, interesting, caring teachers they made me enjoy every lesson! I wanted to be able to experience as much of their vast intellect as I could.
I ended up getting 3 A*s and a place at UCL to study English Literature thanks to my tutors who are genuinely my heroes.
Bart’s turned my life around. They will forever hold a special place in my heart. If you want your child to feel safe and happy it’s the place for them. They allow you to feel ambitious, and never belittle any of your goals.
I have only happy memories of that place. There’s nothing quite like the Barts community.

After attending a school that neither had the compassion or the space and time for me to heal from long-term mental illness, Bartholomew took me on as a student a month into my last year of A-Levels (2017). With my wonderful, down-to-earth (and patient!) teachers, I was able to gently continue my courses in German, Psychology and History, and started to get a healthier relationship with learning that wasn't based on grades. One of the most important things Barts taught me was that I didn't need to achieve high results in order to enjoy and learn from my courses. Although my results weren't what you'd call 'stellar', I passed my courses, but more importantly, I enjoyed them.
I still use my German knowledge today (a lot of which the exam board didn't really look at to grade me), including teaching my partner bits of German from Rammstein songs and books, and also as I attempt to learn (again) my third language, Polish.
In History, my knowledge and skills are used regularly to look critically into any bits of history I'm interested in, and has given me an interest in books, historical reenactment and historical adaptations, such as the film, 'The Death of Stalin', which I like pulling apart critically for historical accuracy!
With Psychology, as well as being able to understand better what was going on in my own head, it has given me a lot of insight into 'the human condition', which has definitely come in handy as I encounter a myriad of different personality types.
Thank you so much to everyone at Barts. You made me feel supported and motivated in a very difficult period of my life, and after taking two years to de-school myself, I've now got a great base to go back to, as I continue to learn.

I achieved the top grade in my A level due to the excellent tuition I received at Barts. I wish I knew about this wonderful college earlier in my education. If I did I would have attended much earlier for my GCSEs as well as A levels. I received one to one guidance and support throughout in addition to subject consolidation weekly so that any weak areas were highlighted and improved during tuition. This is the place to go for all aspiring students.

My daughter attended Barts for tuition in one subject in year 13 whilst she was at sixth form college, as ill health was affecting her grades. Everyone at Barts was incredibly kind and supportive, and they were happy to work in a way that suited my daughter. Their sincere interest in their pupils was apparent from the very first meeting. I think it is a unique and exceptional place.

I attended Bartholamews College to increase my A level results. I had already passed my subjects, but knew i could do better. Barts proved to be the ideal place to provide me with the tools and the guidance to do so.
The one to one tuition, allows you to get the most out of each lesson. While the socials and common room ensure that you are far from isolated. Your individual progress is monitored as the year goes on, helping to ensure and enable you to reach your full potential. Bartholamews proved to be everything I needed and more and I would sincerely urge others to consider going here.

My son wanted to improve his A level results as he had his heart set on a certain university that had a tough entry requirement.
Barts were amazing. His tutor was perfect in every way, we couldn't have asked for a more amazing chap to not only turn 2 C's into an A star and an A grade but also the level of care and support was beyond anything we could have hoped for. Barts is like a family that care for you from start to finish. When the experience is all all over, you miss them.
I cannot recommend them more highly. A star Barts ;-)

My son studied at Barts this year to retake his A-levels. I feel the one to one tuition has been great as it paces the study to suit the individual student .Monthly progress reports help to keep student on track and any queries are answered swiftly .
I would recommend Barts to any student either as a full time student or for any top up tuition for an individual subject
It offers good value for money as the fees are comparable to other schools in the area and the tuition at Barts is individual .

How Barts Set Me Up For Future Success...
I came to Barts because I failed my A-levels at another college and was consequently unable to get to uni on the course I wanted (Biomedicine).
After only a year at Barts I was able to turn my A-levels around. (pretty astonishing considering it took two years to fail the first time I did them!).
As a result of going to Barts, I was able get to Uni. In fact, I actually had a choice of where I wanted to go.
What was my choice?
Biomedicine at the University of East Anglia.
Now, I credit this to the amazing tuition i was lucky enough to receive at Barts. My tutors were incredible and I consider myself very lucky to have met them.
Bottom line: If you're looking to get to Uni I thoroughly recommend Bartholomew's Tutorial College.

Bartz is a wonderful solution for any child that for whatever reason (illness in our case) finds mainstream schooling difficult. Over the two year period my daughter was there we found the level of teaching to be first class.
We found the one on one teaching invaluable - and my daughter loved the independence as it almost has a university feel. Bartz were extremely sensitive to individual child’s needs - and I cannot recommend the college more highly.

I studied at St Barts for my A Level retakes and really benefited from the independent and flexible tuition I received there. The staff were really supportive and its a great learning environment. I achieved all the goals I set myself thanks to St Barts and am now at a Russell Group University. Highly recommended!

Barts have helped our family in so many ways. Mike was hugely supportive - he listened and supported in very different ways. I can't thank them enough. From extra GCSE learning support to an extra A level - the teaching was excellent and their approach always well suited

I'd highly recommend Barts. The staff are incredible, I learnt so much from them in one year and everything I've learned has stayed with me and helped me do well at University. I was dreading re-taking my A levels, but Barts made it enjoyable for me and turned it into a positive experience. I highly recommend Barts, especially for those unsure about retaking exams. It'll be worth it in the end and there's no better place to do it than Barts.

Bartholomew's allowed my son to achieve his full potential whereas other educational institutions had not. It provided a tailored education with a flexible and supportive environment. I can't imagine what would have happened had we failed to find it.

A truly positive experience. The quality of teaching and the support given to parents and students is excellent. The academic results were very good indeed, we couldn't be happier, but notably the holistic approach was outstanding .

I retook my exams at Bartholomews Tutorial College in 1994 to 1995, very glad to see it still going strong! The staff got me through my GCSEs as I had some 'problems' at the school I went to - not naming names! I would've failed otherwise, no doubt. I work in private health care now. Thanks Bartholomews College, keep up the good work! x
