Stefania has been my son’s tutor in Greek for the last 2 years. We had the privilege to meet her through a recommendation from one of her colleagues. My son could speak Greek fluently - as a child of Greeks - but he had great difficulty writing them. Being a teenager, it was not easy to keep him motivated in learning a - challenging to write - language. Thanks to Stefania, not only he got an A* in his GCSE’s last year – of which he is extremely proud! - but he found the lessons so stimulating and Stefania as a teacher so supportive that he decided to prepare for the Greek Exams for Entry to State Universities in Greece in the next 2 years. My son was dreaming of the possibility but Stefania’s input combined with an intelligent, demanding and stimulating, modern and uptodate teaching boosted his confidence to such a degree that his wish has turned into a conscious aim for his life. Stefania is a sensitive and efficient teacher; not only observant of and responsive to the pupil’s personal needs and style of learning, she is flexible in her methods and capable to combine great theoretical knowledge with everyday language in order to make Greek attractive and challenging enough for a teenage student. Adding her capacity for humour and a solid understanding of teenage psychology, she has been extremely supportive to my son all the way through the difficult times of GCSE exams in times of COVID. A few months on his lessons, my son and us could already notice the difference not only in his written Greek but also in the vocabulary he was using: more accurate use of Greek words, richer and varied adjectives, greater ability to express himself in abstract terms and more correct use of grammar. He was enthusiastic… Upon our return to Greece during a half-term, friends and family noticed the difference and he was very happy to receive positive comments on the improvement of his Greek language skills! As far as I was concerned, Stefania would always find time to communicate with me, to keep me updated and I could feel all the way through her care for my son’s overall well-being, not just his learning; she was authentically interested. It is rare nowadays to meet a teacher who wants to understand the student and do the best they can in offering them wholesome knowledge but also ethos. She combines empathy, knowledge and understanding and seems to have an ability to activate the pupils’ emotional as well as rational modalities towards learning thus making learning more fun and efficient. She really made it work for my son and I feel lucky that she will continue teaching him the next few years. Thank you, Stefania!!

Mrs Stefania has been teaching my daughter for 2 years now in preparation for her A level exam in Modern Greek and she has been exceptional! Above and beyond what i could hope for my daughter who has gone on to achieve at an excellent level in her studies. Stefania is a delight to speak to and very knowledgeable on her subject and provides great feedback on my daughters work for her improvement. Especially in regards to the study of Kavafi whose literature is very difficult even for students who study Kavafi in Greece, she was able to teach it in a way that the students could comprehend and enjoy. I would not hesitate to recommend her to other parents who are looking for a Greek teacher for their children.

Due to the pandemic, the last two years have been exceptionally difficult, and I must admit that Stefania has been a stable and supportive part of our son's life during this difficult time. Stefania is the greatest teacher I ever had. She helped me a lot for the Panhellenic exams. We were doing greek writing lessons and my final grade was 19/20, which is extremely high for writing. As a result I got into Law School of Aristotle University, having succeed with the highest score of all the students from Arsakeio Schools. She is methodical, patient and very creative. The lesson was always very interactive and helped me to understand deeply the structure of the greek language.

It was such a privilege to have Miss Stefania as my teacher. She took time in explaining each topic we focus on within the week in depth. I was preparing on doing the Greek A-level; she gave me a lot or resources within the class and even outside the class in order to get better in my vocabulary but also the history in general. I had lessons in class and online yet each lesson was very engaging and informative. There wasn't much differences in learning quality-wise. Having to deal with Cavaphys poetry was hard yet very enjoy full and Miss Stefania gave the absolute best information she knew. In class, when we where finding a poem very hard she took her time in explaining in detail in Greek and English. I am very grateful having her as my teacher.
