I was really stunned by the efforts the staff members take to make our stay comfortable. The courtyard stands out from most of the accomodations in Cardiff with the new lights and covered seating arrangements. Living in a studio couldn't have been more comfortable with a decent room space and much more than asked utility storages. To sum it up, one would never feel out of place when in west wing because the people around along with the staff will never let you feel low and would always have so much on the plate to offer.

The West Wing is a fantastic place to live as a student, the facilities such as the study area and gym are useful and the staff are always available and ready to help with any issues. Leyton, the maintenance man, is especially kind and helpful, responding to any issues on the same day as reporting them. Truly a perfect place to live!

I rented here for 44 weeks and overall the flat facilities were very good and most of the staff were very friendly. However I gave two stars because of the inefficiency of the maintenance and the unfriendly impatience shown by individual staff at times. The induction cooker in our kitchen was broken and after the fault was reported for over 2 months and not fixed, we went to reception almost every week to ask when it would be fixed. They did come once during that time, but the problem was not fully solved and then it was left unresolved. It was an unhappy experience for the five of us in the flat to be eating takeaway and cold food for over two months! ———————— Finally the stuff apologised and fixed it before two days I left this accommodation! -->4 stars!!!

The studio in general is very clean and tidy, the bed fits one person only. There is no oven or (Stove) in the kitchen, it’s basically a microwave, and there is a small refrigerator in the room. Chris is a great manager, he and his team provides a very good services for the residents. Everything else seems good here, there’s also a 24 hours security in the place, the gym is closed due to the current situation of COVID-19.

It was impressive when I moved in during the first day! It’s a brand new student accommodation and the modern appearance outside looks fantastic! Even the construction work hasn’t finished completely but it doesn’t impact the living experience and enjoyment at all. All the staff in the reception are so kind. They did me a huge favour and make my moving so much easier! Coffee and desserts are provided in the study room, which is a terrific place for quiet reading, study and work. The rooms and kitchen are all well-equipped. There’s a massive space for storing luggage and things in each room. Bathroom is spacious and bright. Everything looks shining. The good location and 24/7 security just make life cosier and more pleasant. Will definitely recommend The West Wing to my friend and all students. It meets all your expectations and will give you an unforgettable living and studying experience. Trust me, you won’t regret for that! I came to The West Wing with a rather difficult situation which the team were extremely sympathetic and understanding about. The atmosphere at The West Wing is very laid back and friendly, it is a zero pressure environment built on honestly and the staff are willing to answer all questions and accommodate to your own personal needs. Every time I have popped into the office I have always been made to feel welcome and have enjoyed many chats with the staff. After dealing with tricky lettings agencies I can almost certainly say there is no going back, the difference in customer service goes without saying. The accommodation itself looks absolutely beautiful, and I can’t wait to call it my home for my final year of Uni. If you go into the office you can take a look inside the fantastic showrooms for both a studio room and a cluster flat, as well as see the floor plans for the entire building and pick your own room out (if you are ready to book) or would like to visualise the layout of the building. I will be living in a standard plus studio room next year, and I feel that compared to other student accommodation the pricing is very reasonable for my own needs and the types of services included at The West Wing (such as an on site gym). The accommodation is close to town and Cardiff Uni on foot whilst also being in a relatively quiet area away from the busyness of the city centre. Over all, I can’t recommend The West Wing enough - the staff are absolutely lovely and I already feel like a part of the family. I very much look forward to living there in September and can’t wait to show my family and friends around!

My tenancy has recently ended and I can honestly say its been the best experience despite the circumstances. From the day I arrived all the staff made me feel welcomed and safe, even steering me in the direction for friendships that I still have today. The rooms are modern, bright and very reasonably priced ( much better value then the university accommodation as free access to gym, cinema room, study room ect...) Excellent location not even 10 minute walk from centre and one thing that i have loved the most is meeting international student and creating friends that i wouldn't of had the opportunity to meet if i hadn't of stayed here.

I love this accommodation just moved in as a first year and truly love it. I am an engineering student and the queens building is only 5 minutes walk from my room! The kitchen is enormous and has tonnes of room to have friends over and be sociable. The internet speeds are insanely quick so as a gamer its great. Also the cinema room is amazing with an 82" tv which you can stream to from your laptop and have a movie night. Honestly the best student accommodation in Cardiff for the money heavily suggest going you won't regret.

We stayed at west wing for about a year, and it was a pretty fab experience. The staff are really friendly as well as the security, they’re really helpful. And were really understanding when we had issues with our student loan coming through which caused us to have lots of late payments at the beginning of our tenancy. Also left us great references for our new place moving forwards.

Just had a viewing of the standard ground floor cluster ensuite. Christian was very helpful and answered all my questions promptly. The room seems very nice and clean. The kitchen comes with quite a lot of amenities. The common rooms also seem very spacious. Can't wait to live there!

Stayed here for one week. Enjoyed my stay. Staff are extremely friendly. Location is excellent. Very close to the city centre and right next to the bustling City Road which is packed with shops/cafes/restaurants etc. Also close to Roath Park which is one of the most beautiful parks you’ll ever come across. Room was fine. You have 2 cooking hobs and fridge/freezer so you can cook your own meals to save money. Even though there were quite a few students around the room was surprisingly very quiet at night. Slept well every night apart from one night but that was only due to my restlessness. If I have to be a bit picky I will say that they could do with a hook/rail in the bathroom for towels. The double bed duvet cover also had a single duvet inside it so it was a little bit awkward. There were also no pots and pans but in all fairness the lady did offer to bring me some cookware but I had brought my own after reading someone else’s review regarding this. I will definitely be coming back again. It’s an excellent price for a city centre location and the accommodation is very good and modern.

Haven't had a chance to check the accommodations out in person, but I just had my virtual viewing online and I can confidently give the 5 stars. I was booked in with Christian for the viewing today, and he did an amazing job of showing me around the place as well as answering any questions that I had. He was very informative the entire way through, and made sure that I was comfortable with everything before concluding the call. The place seems amazing, and having the friendly and helpful staff just tops of the experience.

The place is really nice. Big and quiet, they have dorms or flats for students with a shared kitchen, but also studios which i didn't really see. The dormitory seems nice and people are nice as well Some minding their own business, not really too loud. Respectful, I would say.

We didn't have the best of starts checking in at this property - although it looked great, it didn't meet up to expectations initially. But when Nell got involved - what a different story! She listened, promised to take action and sort our concerns and that she did. Understanding, friendly and took action to resolve all the concerns and more. I was really impressed. It's not always about getting it right that sets you apart - it's how you deal with things when they go wrong is what really matters. Many companies would learn a thing or two from Nell! It was 26th June and I had no place to go so I contacted The West Wing and they sorted it out the same day. I stayed there for a month and had a warm and friendly experience. I have just had a virtual viewing with my daughter and Christian was amazing. He clearly is passionate about his job and knows how to connect with people and hands down, we will book a room at the West Wing over any of the other properties we have seen in Cardiff. None of the other companies actually really appeared to care about the person, they were more interested in meeting their targets and some couldn't have cared less if we had taken a room with them or not. The West Wing CEO needs to sit up and take notice. Here you have someone that is responsible for your increase in profits and Christian is the make or break between students signing a contract or going elsewhere. There was no hard sell at all, it was the connection , passion and enthusiasm for people and his job that shone through. My daughter commented after having had numerous virtual viewings ' I really liked Christian, he took time to introduce me to members of staff during the virtual viewing and it seems the type of place where they would know everyone by name'. After the virtual viewing Christian took time to message us and we had a point of contact for further questions. Unlike other Companies, Christian took time to answer my questions, knew exactly what he was talking about in terms of prices and costs . My daughter looks forward to moving in to West Wing in the next few weeks. Thank You Christian!

Helped move my daughter in last month. Seems ok as far as accommodation is concerned. Pretty clean surroundings outside. Rooms inside don't seem to get cleaned though. My daughter has moved into her friends old apartment and her friends rubbish is still left behind as is her spew mark on the wooden floor from at least 3 weeks ago!!! Security is lax. The fake mall cop guy spends his time watching his phone or smoking outside. As a former security service officer, I can truthfully say that he wouldn't last 30 seconds in a "situation". The door pass cards are easy to get around. I waited outside for a few students to come by and just went in with them. No questions asked. I'm a rough looking, big guy of 50. Surely I don't look like another regular student?

I would recommend rent over here, Its close to Queens building if you study engineering in Cardiff University. Although it would be better if the West Wing make a log book for borrowing the vacuum cleaner.

I called up to arrange a viewing in person and sure enough, the team managed to book me in for that very same day, even when other places didn’t allow this due to covid 19. I was greeted by Christian at the door who wore all the protective gear needed (as did we). Christian was an excellent tour guide, and a bubbly character who seemed to know every student or staff member we walked past or came into contact with. He was very informative, and did a good job of accommodating to my own specific needs. The facilities such as the gym, and the brand new cinema room looked amazing and the 10-bed cluster room that I viewed looked spacious and filled all my needs. This is a parents review. My daughter will be staying in the West Wing as of September. We have been here twice to have a look at the accommodation. The first being last week; where my wife accompanied us to generally take in the feel for the place and the second was today so that my daughter could book a specific room. Primarily, we have dealt with Ewan, who is extremely knowledgeable of the whole place and answered all of our queries in an instant. I thoroughly enjoyed his humour as it is geared to all of us. The most important point about him, though, is his overall nature, which I feel is very mature and welcoming. He sold this to us last week with a fantastic pitch. Nell appears to be very astute in her position as the manageress and was extremely helpful at all times when we spoke with her. We haven't had much contact with Christian but I have every confidence that he would be just as good at his job as Ewan. What we have seen of the accommodation has left us very excited for our daughter and I personally believe that she will have a great experience here, especially as it is the first time that she has "left home". The rooms are very spacious and, though we were unable to view from her booked room, I would hope that the vista will be excellent. She is very much looking forward to September now, to take that first tentative step into the "unknown". Thanks all. We will see you soon.

As a student living in an ensuite studio i have to say i am pretty happy. The room is new and really appealing. There's plenty of space to chuck your stuff as well (i used to live in a shared house for the past 2 years so you can imagine i had plenty of stuff). The staff are really helpful and friendly which makes life more relaxing as you know one or another you'll find the solution to your problem. In addition to that, there are fun games being organised every now and then. In general there is a very social atmosphere around the accommodation. There's always people outside in the courtyard up for a chat. Finally, the location is great as it close to the city centre (about 5-10 minutes walking distance) Definitely worth staying here!

Looking at other student residences I realised I certainly made the right choice by deciding to stay at the West Wing.

You get what you pay for, which in this case is unfilled student accommodation that is let out as holiday apartments. It was fine for what I needed - 2 nights close to the city centre and transport links - but it was pretty noisy at night and at 2am I found myself in the terrace yard with several others after my smoke alarm was set off by plumes of smoke travelling up the corridor. The explanation given was that someone had been trying to make toast. I can only assume they were using a bonfire to do it. There were no apologies made and no attempts to curtail the noise levels from what I could tell. My room had no kettle , just a box with a nice photo of what I should've had and the combi oven was not user friendly which made me understand the bonfire scenario a bit better I must say. No tea towel or any other way to dry dishes etc other than your own bath towel. No tv either which is what really makes you feel you're just staying in an empty property. On the plus side though you are close to everything you could possibly need, the property had taken adequate steps to create a Covid compliant venue, the wifi signal is really very good and I had no issues streaming movies or using zoom for video chats. My kettle issue was resolved quickly by a clearly over worked desk clerk (the only one I saw actually so give that girl a medal!) I asked the poor girl for a dish cloth and was told there was nothing left to provide (?) Still my bath towel did make a great dish cloth and doubled up as a bath towel when I wanted to use the single tiny complimentary pot of shampoo & showergel in one that was not sealed and looked as though it had been refilled. I will say this though. My room was impeccable clean. It was literally SPOTLESS. So in short this place is great for a short stay, Clovid compliant, close to everything you need with clean facilities and great wifi. But bring your own tea towel and ear plugs 🙂

Overall good place to live whilst studying, Christian the manager is a really top guy, it's a clean place in general, however i'm paying £140 a week where some people around the west wing that I know are all paying different prices. I was told pricing is in a 3 tiered system which gets more expensive over the year which isn't true as they had offers on weeks prior to move in date that were cheaper than people who booked on earlier in the year for the same tenancy, so the prices are inconsistent & and the 3 tiered system is flawed.I think COVID-19 affected the amount of rooms that they could fill leading to random older people who aren't students living here, but on the whole good place to stay whilst studying and the study room is open 24 hours which is good.

My family and I visited The West Wing yesterday in order to view a flat for next academic year. We were shown around by Christian, who kindly took the time to show the flat to my mother and father individually (as we also had to look after our dog, whose presence was well accommodated too)! The flats and kitchen looked really nice - there was a lot of natural light and plenty of space for storage, and everything was of a very decent size. Pastoral care/security/flatmates were also discussed which was very good as the accommodation I was in previously were slightly more lax, and the completed design of the accommodation overall looks very nice - especially the courtyard! Location wise, it's not that far from many shops and therefore very convenient. I'm looking forward to starting in September!

Found the place really nice -comfortable, spacious, neat and very well done up. Best living space I've been in since I've come to the UK. The room is large, and newly built so everyhing is very clean and works well. The facilities like the included exercise room is also very nice. The staff are also very friendly and helpful.

Bit pricey for the rooms, but great facilities there, with security on site, secure entry system , well laid out kitchens with appliances, free wifi , quite areas for students, a main reception area, games area with pool table, laundry room on site, my son absolutely loves it there,within walking distance to all universities, main city centre with bars clubs and restaurants, and all public transport such as train and bus. Can relax knowing your son/daughter will be well looked after, and will have a fantastic experience while in university.

I’m Loving my room here in The west Wing! Facilities are amazing, there is a gym on site, a room with comfy chairs and a huge tv this is opposite the laundry which is really cool because you can hang out in there while your laundry is going. There are a few other cool communal spaces too, to play pool or study. All of the staff are so friendly, always say hello and all have a good sense of humour. It’s so cosy, This is definitely my home away from home. I have recommended to some friends already and will definitely keep recommending!!

The West-Wing is a very modern and comfortable housing (mainly for students) in Cardiff. Even it is not the cheapest option, I dont regret my stay in the West-Wing. Uni place sorted very last minute (thanks to the grades fiasco!) grr. The next step was to sort out accommodation. Thinking we would end up with the dregs of the pot, we couldn't have been more wrong. I called up and spoke to Christian, who was so helpful and encouraging. He gave my son and I a virtual tour on WhatsApp Video and we were so impressed with the hall. Christian was really keen to make sure he matched my son with the right cluster of other students. He managed me (neurotic mother) brilliantly and put my son and I at ease. So pleased to have a place at The West Wing and happy to know that Christian will be there to keep an eye on my son!

I got to live here for almost 3 months... it’s one of the newest student buildings in the city! It has a lot of the new building feels. whether your from wales, especially if your not, it accommodates everything you’d need to kee yourself going. The staff are fantastic and so amazing to get to know! Lock yourself out of your room for the 3rd time today? No worries, they’re always willing to help with a smiling face a great conversation! They have little events for the whole building to come and hang out and get to know those around you, and they are so so much fun, even if your not the type to be with big groups I would say at least go to one! There are so many diverse people groups living there that your deffinately going to find someone you would like to talk too. They are currently doing a little construction around the building, finishing and adding things to make the stay even better. So if you come expect there to be even better, new things for you to see!

While looking for places to stay at during my postgraduate study in Cardiff I came across The West Wing. With me not living near Cardiff a viewing in person wasn't possible, but Christian was very helpful and managed to plan a viewing via Whatsapp for the same day! Even with the hot temperatues Christian took his time and showed me all the important spots, showed me the room and gave me a lot of information about the building and the surroundings of it. We didn't talk about just the building and the rooms but also about other things like sports, this showed me that the accommodation team is very social. I can definately say that Christian convinced me about The West Wing and I'm looking forward to being there for the coming school year!
