Drinks a bit expensive (October fest)

Went here for a gig a few months ago, the bar was well stocked and service was quick but expectedly pricey.
Great layout for viewing the band with multi level platforms for plenty of opportunities to get a good view.
Friendly staff at the cloak room made the whole experience nice and easy

I've got nothing but praise for the retail staff in the various outlets. I work for the Logistics Institute and visit most working days and have always been treated with respect from happy, helpful and friendly people.

I loved my time at Hull University and I loved the wide range of societies on offer in the Union!! They do make some silly mistakes though like hurting societies by changing the layout of the freshers fair, screwing up room bookings (that's a HUGE one) and favouring sports societies. But I'm thankful for the existence of my society

Outdated compared to other parts of the university. The Spa shop can be expensive with some items compared to local shops. Overall the place needs to be kept cleaner as I was in there once and parts of the floor where sticky. Advertisements all over the place which is a little bit too much at times.

A blast from the past, only more so. Being an old Liverpool polytechnic alumni, and dating a lady who's son has started his first year, I was pleasantly thrust down memory lane, as we helped him move in, sampled some of the facilities, the union bar, spar shop etc. Beautiful campus, one of the best looking redbrick universities by a long way. When captain blackadder uttered the famous phrase "one of the three great universities, Oxford, Cambridge, Hull" he wasn't joking. I loved Liverpool as a city and a student beer fest, and Hull offers experiences at least as good. If anything, the smaller size of the city had bred a slightly hardier, friendlier folk. Scousers are famous for their chirpy sense of humour and for stealing your hubcaps while you drive past, and Hull similarly has a strong sense of humour and belonging, created by adversity, decades of lacking investment, and being at the wrong end (allegedly) of the M62, that bisects the northern powerhouse, with Liverpool at one end, and Hull (and lovely but deprived coastal hinterland) at the other. It has been said of Hull, that The Humber is the a@rsehole of England, and Hull is halfway up it. I personally can't think of a better place to come and learn, party, or make friends. I'm confident those who have, famous names among them, have happy memories of our stoicism, our beer, our many takeaways, our music scene, and our place of learning. Do yourselves a favour, check it out.

It's a fantastic place for a drink (the pub and bar is great), for lunch (a cafeteria and a local shop provides plenty of choice) and for just general relaxing in the longe areas

Nice venue for an event but the food in the pub was quite expensive (£14 for two sandwiches and a hot drink)
A. C.
It's a nice place but they should be more open to people who are visiting the university.
