Reviews of Leeds Cookery School

We came as a small group for a hen do and did the doughnut-making class - and had a fantastic time! We went home with a whole box of doughnuts and some dough to make more. The class was super chilled but informative, and we all really enjoyed ourselves.

I did the Paella class with my Dad and it was excellent. Simon was so knowledgeable and the class was really well structured with lots of extra tips and tricks beyond the practical things we did.
This is the second class I've done at Leeds Cookery School and they've both been brilliant. If you're looking for something different to do in Leeds, I'd highly recommend trying one of their classes.
It's also great to be supporting a social enterprise and we'll definitely be back for another class

Had a fun-tastic night last night, cooking Tapas. Scott put us all in ease with the challenges, including cracking some eggs with one hand and one's omelette was nearly full of egg shells as a result!! 🥚🤭 The Albondigas and Padron Peppers are such a revelation. 🧆🫑 Just delicious. 👩🍳🤤😍

Excellent Brazilian class, Scott was engaging and a great chef who helped you every step of the way to help you produce a great meal. Arguably more important, the money you pay for the class goes back into a great community project and getting a small tour around the venue and an explanation of the great projects in the building makes it worth every penny. Will be returning again soon hopefully for another class!

Great evening learning about Japanese cooking with Scott, who was very engaging and enthusiastic. The food we made was delicious and Scott had some excellent tips for food and travel in Japan. Would definitely recommend.

Scott was incredibly insightful in helping me to cook Greek food. Learnt so much in regards to knife work, dressing and cooking. All for a good cause and would definitely come back again

Had a fantastic time at Leeds cookery school doing the risotto course which was suitable for vegetarians - I went along with my sister and a friend but others were there are there own and everyone was made welcome. Great fun, knowledgeable instructor, good food and learnt some new practical skills - and all conducted by a company with a sound ethos making a contribution to the local community. Highly recommended and makes a great gift

Well organised and relaxed. The pace wasn't stretching so it was an enjoyable amble through some excellent recipes and ideas. There was an emphasis on cooking to your own taste by taking regular samples and adjusting to your own preference. We ended up with some flat bread and 4 dishes. All were excellent and easily made given the well paced demonstrations. A refreshing and relaxing Friday evening with some learning too! Great!

Today, I did the Bread Making Essentials class. It was a great experience and learned a lot (I haven't had much knowledge of baking not just bread making). Everything worked well and all my questions were answered. Simon (the teacher) was friendly and knowledgeable. I couldn't ask for more.

Anthony was a brilliant teacher, helpful, informative and patient. Highly recommended the plant based northern indian cooking lesson.

This was my third course here, sweet morning breads. All 3 have been great, well taught in a nice venue which used to be a fire station. Would definitely recommend doing a course !!

Scott gave us an excellent knife skills course. He has expertise but also is highly personable in his delivery. Group bonded very well and it was a fabulous 2.5 hours spent. Purchased 2kg of carrots on the way home and since ploughing through my knife skills have are already dramatically improved. Sincere thanks! Sue W

Leeds cookery school 6 week level 1 course is a great course taking you through different skills and building on these skills each week.
The chefs Scott and Dan are very knowledgeable and are great at delivering the course at a pace which is suitable to everyone.
It is a great opportunity to learn and meet new people

Amazing class!! Great teacher, extremely friendly and helpful, vegan options, great teaching and a fun experience. Bought as a gift for my partner and we both loved it! Will definitely be trying some of the other classes too. Definitely recommend!

Amazing Sweet Morning Breads class- learned so much about enriched dough and it was a really fun and enjoyable morning (with plenty of sweet treats to take home!). Also felt relaxed as social distancing etc was all very safe.

I've recently been to the Taste of Thai class (date night) and Taste of Northern India (with Rotary Club). Both evenings were absolutely fantastic. The food is delicious and the recipes are broken down so it doesn't feel complicated at all. Simon is a great teacher and very patient - even when I was concentrating more on hitting people with wooden spoons than cooking. I recommend the classes to anyone: advanced or beginners, solo, dates or corporate days.

Had a great time today, very friendly, educational and lots of fun! Plus plenty of goodies to take home. Would definitely recommend!

Been to a basic bread making course today and had a really good time as well as producing some great bread products! I have tried for many years to make bread but could never get it right. Hopefully, I can reproduce them when I try at home. Simon was very patient and assured us that our initially sticky, soggy dough would be fine and he was right. I'll be booking for another of the courses on offer and can recommend the School to novices and experienced cooks alike

I've attended a couple of classes recently - a chocolate master class and a sausage master class - and both were fantastic. Set in a beautiful building in a light purpose built kitchen the classes were both informative, friendly and fun. On both occasions I've gone home with plenty of spoils from my afternoon and have since recreated the recipes I learnt for friends and family.

Fantastic time at the tapas class yesterday, really well paced teaching, lots to do and a lovely space to do it in. Planning to go back very soon as there are loads of different classes to try. It's also a social enterprise and charity, so really worthwhile as the profits go back into that. We learned so much, got some excellent Pro tips, and a fantastic meal to take home. Definitely recommend for new and experienced cooks alike.

Today was brilliant. Just what I needed for my nieces, thank you so much and I appreciate you still running the course on small numbers.
The girls are buzzing, it’s been quite hard for them at that age not eating out with friends, having the think it all through but today they are really upbeat and we have learnt loads.
They have ordered every flour already!! I’ve also booked me & the hubby on the pasta evenings!
Such a brilliant day!

Great experience, learned a lot in 2h. Made naan bread, chicken curry, pilau rice - all tasted great. Chef was excellent and passed on lots of good tips. Highly recommended parent/child experience.

No photos sorry I have eaten all the sweet breads I made. The information on how to handle ingredients to get the correct mixture and then how to knead the dough to make that perfect bread; INVALUABLE
