Calm and beautiful place for walking in oadby village. Open till 5 pm during summer. This place offers both calming and educational experience for the visitors. Have several green houses and specific zones that consists distinct species. It's joyous to see numerous bees in their natural habitat after a long time.

Brilliant place to go with the family or friends for a picnic or just a walk through the garden. Lots of different plants, trees and flowers. You need to visit the garden to really appreciate the beautiful scenery. 🌺🌼

Stunning, Serene, Natural gardens. Loved every moment of this place. New things to see round every corner. The children loved this place, it was like they were 'exploring' and having an 'adventure'. Lovely large pond with lots of fishes too. A beautiful afternoon walk. Will most definitely be visiting again.......... Tomorrow!!! 😆😆😆😆
O. K.
Worth a visit but not at its best in April, looks like it'll be a picture ina few more weeks. The greenhouses are only open Mon to Fri, do keep that in mind if you wanted to see the desert plants, Alpines etc.

Gently mixing up formal and natural elements in this garden of many parts and many delights.
There are botanical themes, as well as sculptural elements, with formal ponds, and some well weathered red brick houses that serve as faculties to the university.
A little green jewel in a city that is otherwise very dense and urban

I love this place. There are so many wonderful and often unusual specimens to see and it is always a delight to visit at any time of the year. When we visited, the fuchsia collection was looking magnificent. The trees and shrubs are always so special and the Caucasian Oak tree was looking completely amazing. In addition the herbs are a major feature and the acers are graceful and elegant. Visiting here always lifts my spirits and it gives me a real sense of joy. To sum up, this place is an absolute treasure and a real credit not only to the University of Leicester but to the city too. Visited again to-day....still fantastic!

A lovely place to walk. Lots of different plants to see. Will go again soon !!

So glad to be able to walk in these beautiful, interesting, extremely well kept, gardens once again. Always something of interest to look at, e.g. lovely plants, shrubs and sculptures.

Leicester Botanical Gardens are a beautiful gem within Leicester. The gardens are well kept by the gardeners and ground staff.
It's a place that isn't frequented as much as the other parks within Leicester. This makes it an ideal place to go on a lovely summers day without the crowds of people you'd expect in other Leicester parks.
The plants, flowers and tree specimens are absolutely amazing. You have to sometimes pinch yourself to remind yourself that you're actually in Leicester!
Great place to visit, take some tea, cake and a picnic blanket and plonk yourself in a secluded corner!

Beautiful place, we always love a walk around here 😁

We came here to get some refreshed family pictures done after lockdown and we weren't disappointed, it's such a beautiful and calming place to go and the perfect backdrop for pictures, highly recommend for anything, pictures, walks etc.
C. B.
Very calming with a beautiful selection of plants and easy to walk around, well sign posted. A few wrong labels and weeds made me feel much better about my own garden 😊
D. s.
Very pleasant.
A bit disappointing to find no signs giving names of plants and trees.
A bit neglected in places too. The water feature, pond, seemed to have an oily residue floating on top. Due to algae?
But the garden has the potential to be very beautiful.
Am assuming that Covid has hindered efforts.
V. L.
Lovely spot for a peaceful walk, and to learn about tree varieties.
Free on-road parking near the entrance gate, and well-marked pathways to the different gardens within.
Toilets open and clean, even on a Sunday close to dusk.
Lots to explore, can't wait to visit again in the spring/summer when there will be more colour and the greenhouses open.
S. W.
Beautiful gardens well kept year round with educational information around the gardens. I visit time and time again.

A lovely place to wander round and find some peace and quiet. Wide variety of plants to see, key in mind the greenhouses are open on weekdays between 9 and 3. The koi carp pond was a hit with our kids. There are toilets. The buildings which now form parts of the university halls of residence are interesting.
R. O.

Very beautiful garden with with plants.

My first time visiting Leicester Botanical Gardens. I wish I could say I was blown away, but I was... underwhelmed. Its July. It should be blooming! It wasn't as I was expecting. It very unkempt. Im aware it's a work in progress. But,... considering you have staff. It shouldn't be so,... messy. Pity because it would be incredible if funded and staffed properly.
No onsite parking. Street parking available on a nice wide road. Toilets but no café?... plenty of places to sit though and rest though if you aren't too good on your legs.
Onsite parking. Better upkeep and a cafe would have made it a lovely day out.
Y. V.
Nice garden, but a coffee shop inside would be great!
S. I. I.

I absolutely adore this place. It is not huge, but it covers everything you expect from a botanic garden. My personal favourite is of course the cactus house, but I love the tropical greenhouses too. The kids love running around here as well. There are so many areas, from rockeries to lawns, to knot gardens and formal ponds. A wonderful place, that is always kept up to scratch whatever the weather.
S. M.
A very beautiful amazing and nice garden.
A. B.
very nice. I love the conifer section.

Lovely place for a gentle walk. Very local and you forget you're in Leicester!Beautiful gardens and the fish in the pond are a real hit with young children.
N. B.
One of the best places in Leicester!
Regularly visit the gardens with my family, toddler friendly and great exploration at every corner.
Free parking on the residential road, always plenty of spaces near the entrance. Pushchair friendly, and kids will plenty of space to run around and have fun.
There are many benches around the gardens, great for a quick rest, or to relax and soak up the atmosphere.
Each visit you will notice something new, as well in seeing the development of plants through the season.
Don’t forget to make a small donation at the entrance!

Very peaceful green area so close to the city . A bit tired looking in parts but most of it looks good. I presume it will be well used when it is fully open again.

A fabulously peaceful place to spend a few hours, whatever the season. Seldom crowded and always beautiful, it also hosts a constantly changing display of sculptures. No picnics allowed but no one will complain if you sit on a bench and eat a few sandwiches.
C. S.
A beautiful place. Thanks for allowing public access and for maintaining it so well. The avenue of Alium near the pond was stunning.
I. T.
Absolutely amazing. All you could wish to see if this is your thing. Amazing. I would recommend you do try it. Take a picnic or just go for a walk. Amazing sights Amelia and all beautifully laid out. And it's all free. No cost to go. Well done to the team that run it and maintain it.

A beautiful place to visit.
The park itself is a lovely place. However, the people that work there are a different matter. Very brusque and offhand. They seem to high a very high opinion of themselves considering they are only gardening.
D. Z.
