If you are not a Pianist, a Drummer, a Singer or a Guitarist, Don't bother with this college.
The tutors and peers are lovely, I could't ask for better but as a brass musician there was no help on my side. I started at the college knowing I was the only brass musician at this college so I knew it would be a challenge.
In my 3rd year I had to do a kind of interview thing as I missed the deadline as I was working, it was mentioned in my interview that there would be more solo work so I will be able to play my instrument.
In our first rehearsal at college in year 3 we was asked to all perform Paparazzi by Lady Gaga and practice it in under a day to perform in front of the class the next day. Now, that is easy for a pianist, drummer, singer and a guitarist but very impossible for someone like me. For it to be possible I would have to find a music score online which there was none for my instrument, the closest I can get was a flute score and that is no where near my instrument. I would then have to completely change the score myself and then spend hours constantly learning it to see if it sound right, this would take a week or over but we was asked to do it in less then a day.
They don't think about us musician who play different instruments. You would think they would pick a song that has access to ALL instruments, but no.

I attended ATM in Lincoln for 2 years, I'm now at the London College of Music with a good grounding in everything I needed. If you can put the effort in this team can get you where you want to be. The staff are competent, experienced and great people to work with. I have students that I taught privately now in attendance and they are doing great.

I studied at ATM Lincoln for 2 enjoyable and interesting years, taking the RSL Extended Diploma in Composition. I am now at the University of Hertfordshire studying Music Composition & Technology for Film & Games. The tuition was excellent, to the extent that much of my first semester at uni was going over things that I'd already been taught. The atmosphere at the centre was friendly, accepting and supportive, encouraging students to help each other learn even more than was in the extensive curriculum. The tutors have a range of areas of expertise that complement each other perfectly. I can't praise it enough.

My nephew Max and myself attended an open day at the Lincoln college, what a great bunch of tutors, also plenty of tech , and hardware. Not just a music college but also event management, photography and video game design and lighting.

I progressed from here to the British academy of new music in London. It has lead me to now working in the music industry and now signed to a large independent label in London. Lincoln should appreciate the efforts of these guys to put it on the musical map more!
