Nice simple but modern accommodation for Uni Students... brilliant views from the communal area (Kitchen), surrounded by most students Needs, loads of shops nearby, super close to the Uni, and McDonald's for that sneaky 2am snack.
Good value for what it's worth..

Narrow boat moorings, nice community

Sheets duvets and pillows are appalling. Bring your own. Noisy road. Rooms stuffy. No bedside light. But friendly staff

Whilst modern student accommodation buildings are, in general, the first place that the Carbuncle Cup judges look to for their shortlist, Cygnet Wharf is a well-designed and well-built accommodation complex.
I have lived in Cygnet Wharf for just over a month now, and so far I have only experienced one fire alarm evacuation. This contradicts the "horror stories" about the fire alarm being activated by burnt toast on a daily basis, suggesting that the fire detectors are much more intelligent today. Nevertheless, there are weekly fire alarm tests on Wednesdays at around midday.
The quality of the buildings is proven by the fact that everything works flawlessly, this ranging from the elevators to the ovens. The only thing requiring repair was one of the kitchen taps, which had become very loose - luckily I had brought my toolkit and pliers with me. The rooms are comparatively small, but have extensive storage and the size is perfectly adequate for me. The bathroom is functional and easy to clean, again small and feeling a bit like an aeroplane toilet. The shower is spacious however, and the hot water runs promptly.
Our apartment contains 12 people, which seems like a lot, but the fact is that it is very rare to have all residents together at one time; the communal area usually contains 6-8 people at most. The doors into the communal area are remarkably well-soundproofed, the room doors less well so, meaning that you can get a good night sleep on party nights until everyone starts playing ping-pong in the corridors.
For 12-person apartments, the kitchen includes three fridge-freezers (one fridge shelf and one freezer drawer for each person), two cupboards for each person, three ovens/electric hobs, two sinks, two microwave ovens, and two kettles, but no toaster. There are also two vacuum cleaners (the worst vacuum cleaners in the world, according to everyone here), an ironing board, and various other cleaning things, stored in a cleaning cupboard.
The laundry room is located in the middle building of the three. Management suggest you downloading an app from the laundry operators (Circuit) to control your credit. Don't do this, the rating for the app on Android is 1.1 stars out of 5! Instead, you can register credit by 'buying' a topup code online, and using this to program the credit onto your laundry card, using the machine in the laundry room.
Overall, an excellent student accommodation building, which I highly recommend.

It’s the best accommodation in lincoln and the staff are really helpful; mind, you have to bother them a bit if you need a repair or replacement if they don’t see it as urgent (and the showers get blocked if there’s even a strand of hair in them)

As a resident of cygnet wharf, I can say that it is a well built structure with great IT infrastructure and has some of if not the best views in Lincoln.

Nice rooms and a modern building. Not much in the way of control over gatherings at the moment unfortunately
