I loved my time at Chapter Southbank. I lived in an en-suite in 2020-2021 whilst I was in London for my Masters. I lived on the side that oversaw Great Suffolk and I could see the London Eye from my bed. The room was not big but it was exactly the right fit for what you need from a dorm equipped with all the necessary furniture. The living room and kitchen area were cleaned once a month by Chapter and you could enjoy some telly whilst cooking or chitchatting with your roomies in a fairly big area. One of the blocks has a rooftop with TVs, lounge areas, tanning beds outdoors and a stunning view. The location can’t get better in London. It’s a 5 minute walk from Southwark station and about a 10 minute walk from Bank where you can go for a lovely walk. About 15 minutes walk from London bridge and borough market. Price is a bit high but you are paying central London rates and you won’t get much better for that location. The dorms also have a study hall and a gym. The staff was exceptionally lovely during COVID and ready to help when needed. There’s a mix of master’s and bachelor’s students and I would highly recommend it to bachelor’s students. A lot of students from Kings, LSE.

I loved my 6 months here, very nice apartment and well equipped. Beautiful roof terrace, nice pool table \ games area, the gym and study areas are more than adequate, and not overpopulated. The forecourt and communal areas etc are meticulously maintained throughout. A bit pricey but that's expected in such a great a great location in London, I challenge you to find better. Worth every penny for me.
The maintenance \ security \ admin \ management staff are friendly and attentive to whatever I needed 24\7. I frequently saw them going above and beyond for other residents too, I must say they have an excellent team running the place, for real. Many times they provide freebies and treats such as Easter eggs on Easter weekend, or packets of noodles or drinks or cakes etc which is a nice bonus.
Looking at some negative reviews here, I'm telling you from experience it's mostly people who want to break the rules or try pushing for unrealistic demands. Rather unfair to such a team, keep up the great work guys!

I'm a student currently studying at King's College London and Chapter South Bank is perfectly situated between Guys and Waterloo campus. I'd highly recommend staying at Chapter South Bank as the location is ideal for University but it's also so close to Southwark underground which allows you to easily explore London in your free time. Moving away from home and starting Uni can be daunting, but the office staff are super friendly and always willing to help. You'll feel like a valued member of the Chapter community as the staff get to know you as individuals. There are so many facilities nearby which makes grocery shopping really convenient and there are multiple nice bars and restaurants close too. Chapter South Bank staff organise multiple events throughout the year which encourages students to socialise and make friends creating a happy atmosphere for all students to enjoy. The sky lounge is amazing providing stunning views of London and the perfect space to get together with friends on an evening after studying. The social spaces are cleaned regularly and maintenance are very prompt at responding to any requests via the Chapter app. Chapter South Bank makes it so easy to settle into London living and provides a home from home environment. If you are studying in London, come and stay at Chapter South Bank! It's the best student accommodation :)

I am the student in King's College London, and this is my first time study abroad. In January I chose Chapter South Bank because many friends of mine recommended this wonderful accomodation to me. After several months living here, I found like it is my another home. The studio is well-organized and it is a quiet place to settle down and focus on my study. Besides, the staff ( Evandra, Ife, etc.) here are very helpful and kind. They are like my friends and always care about me, which make me warm in this strange city. Highly recommend this place!!!!

Hands down the best student accommodation in London! I am confident in making this claim because I have lived here 3 years and I have been to so many student halls in London and trust me nothing comes close to Chapter Southbank's social space (the sky garden), awesome location (5 mins walk to Jubilee line station and right next to Tate Modern). Besides, nowhere you can find the extremely cooperative and friendly management and maintenance which they have here. Therefore, I don't miss an opportunity to recommend Chapter Southbank to my family and friends!

Perfect location--specially for KCL students--safe, clean and a fantastic management team.
I stayed at Chapter South Bank from September 2019 to October 2020. l researched/visited several accommodations and went with Chapter South Bank because of the clean rooms, facilities (including an on-site gym), 24/7 security and proximity to KCL's Strand Campus and the Southwark tube station (Jubilee line). The only thing that could make it more perfect is a resident cat or dog!! :)
Chapter's 5/5 rating though is really thanks to their superb and professional management team. Geanne and Ibrahim were my first new friends in London and they go above and beyond to make sure everything is running smoothly. Any maintenance issues, which were rare, were sorted out within 24 hours. Ellie, Robin and Tiago are immensely kind and helpful, and made me feel very at home at Chapter. They gave me lots of great LDN advice and helped me through some very stressful dissertation months. Leo and Dino were managers during my first and second term respectively, and are super invested the well-being and safety of the residents.
I particularly applaud Chapter South Bank's response to the onset of the pandemic in March 2020. They had been keeping us posted on the situation since December, and maintained strict SOPs and cleaning schedules to ensure everyone's safety. There were a lot of online events too, including yoga classes, quiz nights and music performances which really helped with any lockdown blues.
**Location
The Southwark station is three minutes away and Waterloo station about 10 minutes walking. There's a sainsburys and tesco just ten feet from the gate, and a co-op, 24/7 convenience store, Starbucks and M&S Food a five-minute walk away. The Tate Modern and Millennium Bridge are around the corner and Borough Market is ten minutes away. Borough market was a great place to shop for eggs and vegetables when supermarket supplies were limited during lockdown. There are lots of restaurants on the Cut ten minutes away. I won't say more because it's a super fun area to explore on your own.
The KCL Strand Campus is a 25 minute scenic walk away and 10-15 via bike. The Waterloo and Guy's Campuses are 10-15 minutes away on foot. It's not worth taking the tube to any of them, so you definitely save money on transport.
**Rooms and Facilities
I had a silver studio (with a double bed, small TV, stove, oven microwave and toaster) on the 8th floor in Block B. I did prefer it to block A because you're not right next to the street, it's cooler in the summer because the other block cuts the sun till the ninth floor, has a great view and you don't need to leave the building to go to the gym or laundry room. I booked early and Vicky from the online team helped me pick out a great room. The rooms are pretty soundproof and have huge windows. Unfortunately, only a small part opens, but you still get good ventilation. The radiators kept me very comfortable during the winter and there was only one week in the summer where it was super hot. A tower fan was more than enough for the summer.
The gym is a huge plus--clean, floor mats that make HIIT easier, several machines and free weights. There's also a membership gym around the corner for fitness lovers who need even more equipment. On-site laundry is convenient and a bit cheaper than prices I've seen in the city. There's also secure bike parking and a garden.
The study room and sky lounge (with a pool table, foosball , and TV) are great places to hang or study. Chapter South Bank is big enough for people who like to be social and it's also easy to find space and time for yourself if you prefer to be in your own.
I would highly recommend Chapter South Bank. It's value for money, especially if you’re doing a one year programme. Far more secure and clean compared to other places-- based on what I heard from friends in other private accommodations and university residences. My year in London wouldn't have been half as amazing without my Chapter South experience :)

I had a good experience with Chapter South Bank. The facilities and location is good, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and i have enjoyed some of the events hosted within the facility to celebrate different occasions throughout the year!

Central location with beautiful views from roof terrace.

I really enjoy my stay at this Chapter. Best for those who choose quiet places! You’d better choose Chapter Spitalfields if you’re more likely to spend your time at parties, with friends having noisy evenings.
All facilities are provided in the building, such as laundry, study area, gym, sky lounge. First, when i moved here there were some parties for freshers or groups of people celebrating end of week in sky lounge. Fortunately, (as i do not like noise and too many people) now it is quiet enough to study. I also enjoy the peace 🙌🏻 Great place to live.

Stayed here for 2 years. Amazing experience, great team that's always been friendly, helpful, and consistently responsive. Special thank you to Ellie, Dino Coelho, and Robin! The security and maintenance team is great as well. Ebrahim is lovely :)

I really like this place and enjoyed my stay here. It provided me a home in London! Great location for lazy people like me because tesco and sainsbury's are just a few steps away from here! Most staffs are friendly and helpful, and Ibrahim was so kind to say hello every time we met. You will have a wonderful stay here with freedom, convenience, (and quietness as long as you have good neighbours).

Great private student accommodation provider! From September 2015 will be staying here for the third consecutive year and I believe I've just done a fantastic choice. Within the walking distance from the King's College London, Waterloo station, Tate Modern and Borough market Great Suffolk House provides supers quality rooms for its residents. 24-hour security, friendly staff, repaired gym, common room and studying room, flexible options of payment and many other benefits. Tesco and Sainsbury stores are located on the same street, 30 seconds away from the building! I would definitely recommend this house, as it is very comfortable place to live.

Great place to live. The location is perfect, close to Guy's campus and right by Southwark station. The rooms are nice, there are two supermarkets pretty much right outside, and we have our own gym downstairs. The sky lounge is awesome, where you get a really cool 360° view of London.

A very good student accommodation overall. The rooms are in good condition, the service team friendly and always helpful. Also, the location could't be any better: the Southbank has so much to offer but also the rest of central London can be easily reached by public transport!

They appear on Airbnb as host "Leandro". They place modestly priced ads that you cannot book then ask you to book other rooms that are significantly more expensive. It's a looser...

Chapter South Bank could be a very nice place. But unfortunately there are some incomprehensible management decisions. The price-performance ratio is not optimal. Next time I would choose a hotel.
After my discussion with Peter K. I rate it with 3 instead of 2 stars. Thank you Peter.

It is my birthday today and what a nice present I was offered by these 2 lovely ladies working at the reception: Robin and Ivendra, you made my day with the lovey cakes.

I've had the most amazing summer at Chapter South Bank! Besides making friends for a lifetimes, Chapter is a perfect place to be completely immersed with the culture of London. Being across from Tate Modern made living there a dream come true. Thank you Sam, Ellie and Maryana for being so kind and accommodating, I will forever cherish our acquaintance. AND the security!!! for all those times I left my key card inside my room, thank you for dragging with me all the way to 9th floor to open it!

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are comfortable, with no problems present. Situated in the heart of central London, this accommodation offers a friendly environment in a convenient location.

I have been living here for 3 years and I really like this place. It has good location, security and relatively comfortable rooms. Very nice view from the common room at the top, lot of fun hours spent there. The maintenance however is very slow sometimes when it is about repairing something in the room.

Very nice accomodation. The stuff here are very friendly and helpful. The one thing I don't like is that the ventilation system is weak and the part of the window that can be opened is too small.
In general I enjoy living with Prodigy House.

Great Suffiolk House is a fantastic place to stay. Located exactly in the heart of London, it provides excellent opportunities for entertainment and living. The rooms are really nice and refubrished. There are so much facilties at the Hall like study rooms, gym and common room where you can play pool or some video games =P The staff is really friendly and always ready to help to solve any arised issues. And of course very united comunity of the Hall will make this place feel like second home. Overall, Great Suffolk House is a perfect place to live!

Awesome facilities within the most convenient location. The management team, especially Maryana did a fantastic job in ensuring that all needs were met and organising activities for the students. Would definitely recommend.

Mr Mohammad Hossain is a very helpful man, he is always there over the weekend looking out for the residence, especially me because I always forget my key in the room and he always brings me back up.Chapter South Bank is a warm and friendly place to live in and I definitely enjoyed my stay here.

"The halls are fantastically located with great access to the whole of London. The rooms are well sized and the roof terrace provides an excellent place for everyone to meet and relax"
