I have had a really good year and I love it at Daisy Bank.
The staff are great and although they don't have a social area, reception is the best place to be anyway.
They are always friendly and they always have a chat with me whenever I go to collect a parcel... they genuinely are interested in me and my life and i like that!
My room is quite big and my flatmates and I get on really well
Daisy Bank is a great place to be ! :)

I enjoyed living here. Every room was an ensuite and I only had to share the kitchen with three other people! It has a 24 hour security desk and shared laundry machines for everyone at the entrance to the accomodation. It's not far from the town centre too as you can walk there in 20 minutes or take a bus which will get you there in 10. It's also not too expensive
However, it is only serviced by one bus. And while it is meant to be a frequent bus which comes every ten minutes, it often does not. Also, this bus is not a 24 hour bus so for those who want to enjoy the manchester nightlife, living here might impede on that.
All in all, I enjoy my stay here very much. Everything came together to make it an enjoyable experience.

the accommodation is very antisocial which may be a good or bad thing depending on who your roommates are. the rooms are very boring and the bathrooms are very small with no heating etc so there tends to be a lot of damp. one negative if youre on the top floor is that there are no lifts, obviously it starts to be quite a pain going up and down very day.
the parking is great although it costs over £100. the distance from MMU isn't ideal but its not too bad either.

Nice rooms, good for the money. Internet can be unstable at times over the Wifi but I mainly use Ethernet so this isn't a real problem. The staff are nice and replaced a few things in our flat quite quickly when they broke. A few loud neighbours occasionally but the security team is happy to have a word. As long as u don't mind traveling on the bus for 20 minutes to Uni, perfect place.

I like this student accommodation for its good price and a free bus pass! You travel in nearly whole Manchester for free!:)

Had a nice snowball fight there recently. A lot of the people are very friendly and the vibes are nice. The rooms seem nice but that's subjective. I hear that there's a lot of parties there. Very nice!

Lovely spacious rooms with en-suite, good communal space and lovely staff. There’s not many inspections which is appreciated. It’s not that far from university and town and it comes with a free bus pass which is super handy. There’s only 4 people to a kitchen so it’s down to luck if you get on with your flat mates. I got lucky and everything has been sound. Daisy Bank is also super secure with needing a fob to get in and out of the main gate and keys to get into your halls.

Kitchen and room are well-kept and big. Maintenance team are prompt and friendly with any repairs. Further away than most other MMU accommodations but you receive a free bus pass to use. Nice helpful reception staff, enjoyed my stay.

The place genuinely wasnt too bad as in spacious and pleasant looking from its exterior. However the bedrooms was very dull and lifeless as was the lounge area. The kitchen was constantly getting infested with flies due to trees surrounding the kitchen window.. the building definitely had no thermostats for water as my skin has completely been ruined with the extreme hot water. (It was never in between freezing cold or hot) The onsite security staff was pleasant and were responsive whenever you required assistance.. I suppose for the value of money it wasn't too bad but I wouldn't recommend this place further unless adjustments were made

I haven't been in the accommodation but it is situated on a beautiful historic old road. Right at the bottom of that road opens up to a food lovers dream, food from everywhere in the world. If you are a student that doesn't particularly want to spend your evenings drinking in clubs, then you can spend many a night stuffing your faces on curry mile.

I will be perfectly honest with this review - which is something you are obviously looking for when choosing which uni accommodation to live in for first year. It IS based on my personal experience so YOUR experience will perhaps differ from mine. Anyway, one important factor you should listen to is TAKE TIME TO REALLY THINK ABOUT THIS!!!
Daisy bank houses 4 people in each flat (separate bedrooms) and on average there are 8 flats in each building. One thing that put me off these halls was my flatmates. As there are only 3 it means that the chances of all getting on is slim unless you're really lucky. For me, none of us got on which completely ruined my whole experience as it made free time boring and general hygiene of the flat suffered as getting individuals to keep it tidy was an unexpected challenge. What I am basically pointing out is I can guarantee nobody has discussed the possibility of your flatmates NOT being ideal and your dream housemates. There will be a chance you will be living with people you don't like. If you, say, choose uni halls with 8-12 people living there, there's a higher chance you will gel with people which helps with your first year of uni.
The halls themselves? Well the security is great. You need a thob to scan the senor on the front gate, then to the door of your building. You then need a key for a second door, then the same key to open your flat door, THEN the same key again to get into your room - phew!
As for the maintenance? It took more than a month to get replacements for broken kitchen appliances, my extractor fan was not even working when I moved in (and still hasn't been repaired), my bathroom light has been broken for 4 months and the maintenance staff are quite rude themselves when damages are brought to their attention.
HOWEVER, (hopefully I haven't scared you off too much by now haha), the rooms are decently sized, clean and in good condition when you arrive, a heater in each room. Although there is WIFI I wouldn't get too excited as it isn't the greatest. The kitchen is big enough for 4 people to do things in it and the communal area is also great. It's a nice area and the bus stop is a 5 minute walk AND A FREE BUS PASS.
As I mentioned before THIS IS DRAWN FROM MY EXPERIENCE so it will differ for each person. Overall, you get what you pay for but it is also uni accommodation so take that into consideration.
(P.S. Sometimes less people isn't always the best choice)

Staff always so lovely and helpful, rooms are bigger than I expected. Maintenance issues solved quickly, would deffo recommend

Meh, you get what you pay for, certainly not a 20 mins walk from all saints campus. Free bus pass is included which is a bonus and there isn't a warden anymore I don't think as the old wardens flat is used for events.

Comfortable living however the showers are very basic and the oven is practically useless plus a TV in the living space would be nice

It's a great student accommodation with great helping staff. And the accommodation is everything you need with the food street being only 12mim walk from here.

Some will take it as a disadvantage that it is far away from the Manchester metropolitan university (MMU) but the Daisy bank Hall has an advantage that it gives a student a bus pass and when combined with your ID card you can travel Manchester free and then also this place has some people who very cooperative and helpful like all others in the UK
