Do you like being woken up by neighbors throwing parites on all nights of the week through paper thin walls? Have you wanted to wake up in a place where you can see exams taking place accross from your window? Do you like being in a place where no meat mondays means you cant eat something you enjoy EVERY week? Then this place is gonna make you REALLY feel the student life.
I will say however, if you want nice staff, lovely food and a place to socialize and get to know others then this place is great aswell. Its also cheap and if you're on a bare bones budget then this place is perfect. Its not that bad, its got great staff, utilities, internet and food. Just a minority of students make the place hell if you're already stressed or working a part time job on weekends.
If you invest in some good ear plugs, headphones or a axe to demolish your neighbor's Hi-Fi system then you should really enjoy your freedom and extra cash you have from not spending a fortune on rent.

This place is kind of hidden away. However, it's a really quiet area and there's a nice big field that you can do activities on.

It's weird to go back to a place where you lived for a year 37 years ago. Castle Leazes is large student hall of residence for Newcastle University. The rooms seem very much smaller than I remember all those years ago, but that's just my memory playing tricks. Otherwise, the layout has changed a bit but it's still recognisable. The rooms have had a lick of paint over the years and locked down WiFi has been added. The three refectories seem to have become one. There is now a computer suite but the TV room seems defunct. The bars hardly get used according to my son who is there this year.

Good staff, paper thin wall, strange room layout, a place for party animals to live

Everyone so friendly but accommodation seriously lacking with no communal areas for all those young people beginning University life. Can’t really understand it.

Alright university accommodation, but nothing special and feels very aged. In need of a refit to justify £95/week.
