Reviews of Keele University

When I was going to university Keele was the place one went to if nowhere else would accept you. How times have changed. The university is really going places and I can genuinely say that I wish I was going there....
The campus is lovely and range of courses is well suited to the modern age. Great that there is a vet school there now! Medical school is especially suited to current requirements. There is a foundation year that allows students to gain that extra confidence before starting their full degree. Impressive.

Fantastic uni, vast campus with plenty to do and see. Security is top notch as is access around the site. My only regret is not going to to the uni for my degree!
W. S.
Quaint and quiet. This historic university is nestled among the sheep and cows! Ohhhh and top notch education too.

Fantastic graduation ceremony and day celebrating with our son. The University put on a great spread and the speech was inspirational. Thank you

I love this place, truly beautiful, and Stan (my dog) absolutely loves walks round the lake.

Always like coming back to Keele for our conference. Food is good, staff are helpful and KPA is a fun place to meet after official business is over.

My son's Graduation day was a pleasure to attend thanks to all the students and staff giving us a memorable day.

Definitely a unique university experience. The campus is full of greenery and open space so great place for a walk and more aesthetic and peaceful compared to other university campuses I’ve been on. Look out for the squirrels and the uni is a central hub for the whole village so you will often see random people with their families walking around campus

It was a beautiful place, I was here for a Christmas party

Friendly students and staff. Beautiful campus.

Keele University is a very overwhelming place, as it has many aspects to it and can feel like a maze. Today was my first day as a student, so had lots of input from the lectures.
It's a very scenic setting and has a calming atmosphere, so getting lost and having to find my way around wasn't so bad.

Went to see the university today, spent 40mins looking for the main entrance.
The main entrance hall is very poorly sign posted, no one there could help either.
Hence the 3 stars.
It's an impressive university the biggest campus in Europe, offers many different subjects, has approx 12,000 students.

Excellent place for mountain biking and picnic

Went to the SU for the first time since reopening, sat in the outback. There was great service, easy to order via the app. I only wish there were more veggie options with food! And it would have been nice to have more sheltered seating areas, we ended up sat in the rain. Though would have been lovely in the sunshine :)

It’s my first time to go to Keele uni in person and it was a mixed experience. 📚
I’ll start with the bitter side. *this part deducted one star⭐️ “, ok let’s begin with bullet points 📝
1.The teaching staff are friendly but the teaching method is mostly listening and not engaging at all 😐. The load sometimes is overwhelming.
.
2. the timetables are mixed up and some of the departments are not cooperating to resolve this issue *and some poor teachers are trying hard but sadly no one is helping them* so I have to run between buildings to catch up 😢.
3. there are not many available places to rest during breaks between seminars. i want sit and study and this is exhausting because I have no place to go to and I can’t stand in the corridors because it’s weird and painful 🏃♀️ ⏰. The usual places are busy and they are mostly available during Fridays.
4. the food options are too limited. I wish we have more options. Chancellor’s food is good but the SU food is meh.
5. some classes are overcrowded so if you have social anxiety, you will definitely be more anxious 😬 😳.
6. I’m against recording the seminars. I feel like it’s violating our privacy rights.
Ok the bright side, ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️
1. Some of the students are friendly and they approach you to talk and they smile * this experience doesn’t happen in big cities” 😊 🥰.
2.The delivery of the material by teachers was straightforward and they showed interest in their subjects 😊 plus, they provide feedbacks and office hours.
3. it’s not a show off environment, unlike big cities where you feel overwhelmed by literally wearing every brand you’d think of. Here, it’s simple, convenient and practical. ☺️ 👗
4. The university is really working hard on pro green projects and it’s inspiring. Also, I’ve witnessed many students who are keen to pro-green.💚🥇🏡
5. The landscape is fascinating and inspiring plus the squirrels 🐿 are lovely and jolly and energetic.🏕🗺 it’s cold tho ☃️
6.The staff is really dedicated to following COVID-19 regulations 😷 🦠 and so do the students 🤓🥸
7. Finally, you are rarely required to buy a book! Uni helped me to save my money because most of the materials are digitized. 💰 📚 💻

The best place in the world to learn! Proud to be a Keele graduate!

Nice campus good areas to walk and have breaks between studying. I didn't live on site coz it's overpriced so I can't speak to that but lovely staff always willing to help. Good selection of student clubs and societies if that's your thing and most importantly cheap booze at the student union.
O. A.
Beautiful campus, lovely forest trail
S. H.
Great place to work and study, plenty of innovation combined with business and perfect location for all. Chasing the zero carbon badge and well on the way with smart distribution networks and green energy.
B. O.
I absolutely loved the ambience and celebration of excellence.

As a university its a great place, unfortunately when you have a double decker bus there's no way to turn the thing around
I. B.
The best university campus I've ever visited.

Everyone here is very welcoming, supportive and understanding of additional needs the transition is not always easy but they have made it a smooth as possible set in a beautiful part of the UK, I would recommend this place to everyone

Most stuff is overpriced. Teaching quality is good but most of the price comes out of your independent study and effort. There are friendly staff and some friendly people here that makes it worth staying. The lecture halls have been refurbished with new material so it all looks fresh and smells great.
You will have a wonderful time exploring the tons of buildings they have each holding their own principle, equipment and highly qualified lectures who love what they do. Even though you might feel down one day there is a support center to help you through those, anytime.
What I feel that people here like most are the library facilities and events from the Student Union. The library is full of references, books and seats for studying. The student union is a place where keele students gather and catch up on what is new. No matter who you will be able to find someone who shares your ideals, someone just like you and Keele offers that nearly every time and that is the reason why most people stay grounded in Keele.
It focuses on education to the highest standard as it can and am sort of glad I got to experience all this, I hope you will make that decision too. Just grasp it when you see it to the best you can...because trying your best is something Keele appreciates most.

When my daughter went for cross country she loved it and said that it was huge

Arrived at Keele university got in the lift and it broke down. We were stuck in the lift for over an hour. The staff was helpful and stayed with us until the lift engineer arrived. Nice place to study I can't fault it.
C. S.
One of the nicest campuses I have worked on in England. Very picturesque I imagine it helps the students relax.
They really do need to control the grey squirrel population though its overrun with the pests
S. R. K.
Its a massive big university with many building and many shops pharmacy and cafe and many more. It is an another world behind the gate....
P. T.
Beautiful grounds, old and modern buildings with trees and gardens in abundance. Quite an experience.
C. C.
Studied there between 2005-8. Amazing campus surrounded by nature, best experience ever. And as a foreign student, I received the most amazing support from both the university and its students. Partly made me stay in England.
L. T.

Ahhh Keele. My time at Keele were the best three years of my life so far. It's weird because it's like in the middle of nowhere, and there are squirrels everywhere, but it's *lovely*. The campus is beautiful and everyone just kind of gets to know each other. It's really nice. Even now that I'm back in London, I still meet up with my Keele friends :)
M. C.
Lovely place for a wander or a visit to the student physio clinic.

I like Keele for the campus layout and how it's nestled into the countryside. Walks around Keele Hall in particular are enjoyable and the campus shopping area has a good selection of food and drinks.

Keele University, officially known as the University of Keele,[6] is a public research university located about 3 miles (5 km) west of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, England. Keele was granted university status by Royal Charter in 1962[7] and was founded in 1949 as the University College of North Staffordshire. A science park and a conference centre complements the academic buildings, making it the largest campus university in the UK.[6] The university's School of Medicine operates the clinical part of its courses from a separate campus at the Royal Stoke University Hospital. The School of Nursing and Midwifery practice is based at the nearby Clinical Education Centre

(Translated) I went camping in 2007 when I was 13 years old, the place was very cool, the company EF was a landmark. The best thing was to give ostias with the children of the town, I would repeat without a doubt 😁
