This building is NOT the bargain it appears. Though it will be fine for some. Firstly, customer service before signing was a nightmare. This is the norm for British citizens who are used to dealing with landlords and lettings agents who will need a lot of nudging, but it's something to beware of if you are not used to this. Secondly, customer service once living in the building is not great either. This is not the fault of the cleaning or reception staff (who do an incredible job and are lovely!) but rather the fault of clear understaffing. This means that often there is nobody at reception. At the weekends, this is not an issue, but through the week it causes a few problems: • Some deliveries can be left unattended or refused if there is no one to sign for them and no way for the driver to notify of arrival, • Services such as the free coffee that are marketed on viewing are often unavailable as nobody is working in the building to turn the machine on, • Alarms regularly go off at the front desk throughout the day and night – if there is no staff available to turn them off these sirens can be ringing for several hours. In terms of the actual living standards, the flats are mostly comfortable and at a fair price including bills. They are spacious enough for one person though the bigger flats can fit two. The gym is nice though it is quite small for those who might be Covid-conscious. The location is fantastic right in the city centre. Nevertheless, there are inconveniences with the flats too: • The lights: o The bathroom lights are on a faulty motion sensor. This means the lights will turn on even if you walk past the door. This is only really an issue for migraine sufferers who will not be able to keep the lights off due to the motion sensor. o The bedroom lights are on a 30-minute timer. This is mostly an inconvenience for those working from home who may have to get up to turn the lights on in the middle of client calls. • The heating: o The heating is on a timer too. This means that it will turn off while you sleep and that there will be no heating all through the nights. In the winter months, this will mean you wake up in a freezing cold flat and it can take some hours for it to heat up. • Missing furnishings: o The flat doesn’t come fully fitted with everything that you will need – there is no kettle or microwave available, and you will have to buy these separately and they will take up space. This is fairly standard in UK studios, but an inconvenience, nonetheless. • Laundry o The laundry is very expensive. This is standard in the UK but something to bear in mind. There is also only two washing machines and two driers for a building of 80+ studios. All in all, it’s worth staying in the building for shorter lets or if you will only be in Newcastle for the year. If you plan on a longer stay in the city, it’s possibly cheaper and more comfortable in the long run to look elsewhere.

I use the gym with a Coach and that is very impressive. Very well equipped and exceedingly clean. I have been inside the manned reception area once and that is very stylish and modern. I would be more than happy to either visit there again or have an office.

Been here a few years, the staff are pretty great if I'm honest. The coffee machine is pretty good as well and the accomodation is better than most studio flats. The location is top notch. The only thing I will say is the lack of weekend staff (we miss Vicky!) Is annoying.

The rooms are so spacious and the staff are super helpful. Great are as it is close to the city centre and all the shops and bars and restaurants but also in a peaceful quiet area. Right next to the quayside as well so it is always a treat to be able to walk down there. Special mention to Holly who has always gone above and beyond to help me whenever needed. 10/10

I lived here for the best part of two years and it was a great experience! The studio rooms are well-sized and the building itself is very well equipped with the different facilities such as the gym and cinema room. It's also conveniently placed and very central so travelling into town, the train station or the quayside is very convenient. All in all, a great place to live!

Lived here from august 2020 to March 2021 Generally a nice and safe building, the reception area is always nice and clean, The rooms are cosy, with good WiFi connection. It is a good place for a single professional who works in the city centre as is short walking distance. All the staff that work in reception are friendly and were always helpful to me and my partner.

Stayed here for 3 years and I loved it. The studios are nice and modern, and the staff very lovely and accommodating. Bonus: the breakfast bar has a coffee machine that serves delicious hot chocolate.

I found myself In between moving house and needed a place to stay that was convenient and had all the facilities and amenities without the hassle of setting them up. This was the ideal solution. Rooms are modern and well designed. The games room downstairs is a good area to meet other residents, the staff manage the place well. Matt was always very helpful and friendly. Would stay here again.

Office only open from 9 to 17. This annoying, specially if you need anything out of those hours. Gym is not taken care. Staff is very nice and it offers the possibility to stay for short periods. Location is awesome. Close to the Tyne river and 10 min from main commercial street and train station

It's a super clean and quiet place, full-furnished, near to all facilities in the city center of Newcastle Upon Tyne like shopping centers, central train station, bus and metro stations , etc. And more important with very supportive staff.

The facilities were excellent with a wheelchair accessible wet room and kitchen facilities that could be adjusted to whatever height was needed. Special thanks to Crissy and Simon who were so supportive to us during a very challenging time. Highly recommend Urban Study Tyne Bridge as a safe and secure place to live in Newcastle.

Studying abroad can become very stressful at times and finding the right place to live is one of the most important decisions. This place must make you feel like you’re home, it must provide you with clean and nice facilities, safety and kindness. I am very happy to say with no hesitation that Urban Study Tyne Bridge has everything that a student like myself will need. Each studio is well-organised, leaving you with enough free space and your own kitchen, modern and nicely decorated. From an economical point of view, the prices are very reasonable and I personally couldn’t be more satisfied. The common spaces is well-designed , making it the perfect area to spend your free time or even study. The stuff is very kind and always there to help as much as they can. Urban Study is fantastic! Located in the heart of the city, 5 minute walk from central station and 30 seconds from the quayside, it is the perfect accommodation for young professionals. With a gym in the building, helpful staff, and comfortable, contemporary studios, would highly recommend!
