I did 4 years of art and design studies here and it was the best years I'd had, socially and practically. If it weren't for the committed and friendly tutors I wouldn't be where I am now as an artist, so I have them to thank.
In regards to the college, it's always very active with things going on and there's plenty of courses to choose from. The atmosphere is lively and I don't recall ever coming across anyone hostile, personally. The only thing I hate is the college administration which I found to be unhelpful and on a "power trip". Otherwise, it's a great college to study at and I recommend it fully.

Just checking out a few courses for my son and what's available at the city college for further education. Very helpful morning and good information given. It has changed a lot from when I was a student so if you haven't been in a while it's worth a walk round.

Employed me, my wife, both my boys and educated one.of them. Nothing but good things to say about this place. Young people can be supported to study pretty much anything they want at the College's different sites. It's practical, academic or both. Whether you want to learn a trade or go on to Uni, it's a great place to start.

Ate at the cafe, excellent food. Good service by hospitality students

An all round busy and active college with a wide variety of courses.
Many courses are vocational and contain student led segments such as the student run cafe.
Students are generally very compliant eg. sticking to rules for covid.

Very inclusive for those with disabilities etc. Friendly, caring staff. General organisation of the College as a whole is pretty awful.

I always found the college itself rather frustrating as everything is kind of tucked behind extravagant frontage and is on multiple levels that don't quite make sense. I mostly use the sports hall and that is relatively clean and tidy.

The teachers are great, very dedicated and will help you with anything. Just a shame they dont get treated well and the admin department are useless with any queries and take a lifetime to sort anything out.

I came to this college, with seemingly no hope of a future, all my friends moving onto better things, and into an environment where nothing was familiar.
I left it going to my top choice university, more confident having made some really good friends there, and being given hope about my future as a whole.
I can't speak for everyone, but the people I met there were amazing, both staff and students alike, and for me at least the Sixth Form, most of all the Psychology department, was extremely engaging and informative with their teaching in a way I haven't seen before or since. It is the only institution I have gone through that I feel had the support required for students that was easily accessible to them.
City College Norwich doesn't deserve the reputation it is given, it is far better than such; I hold it in the highest regard, and words don't do it justice how grateful I am towards them.

Due to fact that there is less people using this bus service and less traffic, there was no problems.

As a third year graduate from CCN BSC Psychology with Sociology, I have to say, City College Norwich, is not the university prospective institute it should be, if it is delivering degree programmes.
The College lacks resources, the links with UEA are undoubtedly VERY weak, when they could be a lot stronger, widely benefitting the pupils of CCN. I had trouble in recognising CCN as a academic professional institute for higher education due to it's poor facilities for degree programmes. The libraries were limited strictly to course content and wider reading and online research resources were very very poor. For university, it is incremental research and independent learning is encouraged and supported.
CCN for me, failed to distinguish itself as a GOOD institute for studying. I found the organisation rather poor compared to my previous colleges and schools, and the system for complaints, meetings, and general staff feedback are below average.
I had a series of lecturers, in the second year I had over 4 different lecturers for ONE module. This greatly affected my learning at the time. We had a sociology lecturer who had only a BA in Sociology and was hired by CCN on a quick instant basis to teach our class. Unfortunately the gentlemen was not of academia stature to be teaching degree level pupils.
I would say over the three years I had 2 constant lecturers which one of, had a very relaxed take it easy approach to education which sometimes, did not encourage development and outstanding abilities.
If three years ago I had read a review such as this about CCN before I moved to Norwich to attend there, I would think twice about the decision. Academically CCN is not the place to excel or perpetuate excellency in education rather, a place to obtain a certificate without much "pushing" from staff.
On a brighter note, CCN returned my phone calls after 2 days and allowed me mitigating circumstances upon request.
If you are planning to attend CCN, I highly recommend using UEA facilities only! CCN resources are poor.
