Reviews of St John's College

Visited at John's as part of open house....blow away by this college...huge grounds. Our daughter is young but we've popped this college on our list of if she clever enough. We loved the sheep hunt too. Just a vvvvvv fun college we felt and down to earth. Great cakes too although it's not on the main site.

Amazing smart, talanted, charismatic, eloquent economists to be found here. Beware of the badgers and the fox. Good proximity to Najar’s and Solomons.

I took a tour of the place and it was very informative and the food that they serve there was amazing. It has a large outdoor area and the tour guide was very friendly.

I came to see the performance of Don Giovanni being held at St John's College Auditorium.
My first visit here, wonderful grounds and a welcoming bar. I am always open to new experiences.
Drinks very affordable after coming from London prices.

Love the college. Open to the public during open hours for free and is an array of well maintained buildings and gardens. Kendrew Quad is my favorite part of the college.

I have been involved with the current building works with Beards construction, and having only been there for one day so far, was blown away by the rich history intrenched even into the basic fabric of the building we are carrying out works in. I went home and researched the college further, as I was so enchanted with the little I saw that I couldn't resist. The 4 stained glass panels alone that I saw were the best I've ever seen, and when one is within those grounds you can't help but be slack jawed at the sheer brilliance of the architecture the stone work and the details within it. Perfectly presented, steeped in history, I am bessoted with the small bit I've seen. I wish there was a way to pay for a guided tour of the cathedral within the quadrants, and to be told of the tapestry of history in those grounds, and to be shown and told of the miniscule details of the college. I would pay so much, and I find it a great shame it is not open to the public let alone a lowly electrician.

Simply the best Oxford college

Founded as a men's college in 1555, it has been coeducational since 1979. Its founder, Sir Thomas White, intended to provide a source of educated Roman Catholic clerics to support the Counter-Reformation under Queen Mary. It is amongst the most academic of all Oxford colleges.

Came for a religious summit. Very pretty grounds and definitely holds its place as one of the old heritage colleges. Go visit.
