Chris taught me everything I know about how to fly drones. He's patient, has expert knowledge around drone flying, and an all-round top guy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chris, because he gives you so much of his time and is always sharing news, tips, and the latest safety reports about flying safely. A well structured learning pathway with a very friendly and accommodating support team. I enjoyed the no pressure self marking process. Whilst it makes for a quiz type environment initially, easing you into the course, it reaffirms the learning and puts you in a good place for the critical assessments. Everyone in the team is really approachable and able to communicate their deep knowledge of the flying industry, especially UAS, and what’s required to help you progress. This is the second time I have studied with the guys at Airborne, from my PfCO last year to the new A2 and GVC courses this year. After the experience last year, there was no doubt about whom I was going to do my GVC with. The courses are well structured but more than this, the support from Chris and the rest of the team is absolutely impeccable. Having done the theory side of an expensive PfCO course with another company nearly 5 years ago and not completing the flight test, I recently decided to take the bull by the horns and finally get it done. I discovered Airborne Platforms UK when I saw some people in a drone group on Facebook talking about them and how great the course was. 6 months on and I have just received my operational authorisation from the CAA, having passed the theory and practical exams. Chris Marshall and the team were extremely helpful and were available any time if I needed to ask any questions. They also have regular online group meetings and run through everything needed in this ever changing industry. I did the studying on their online portal and was also able to sit the theory exam online and via Zoom. This course is excellent value for money and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get their commercial permissions from the CAA.

Chris and all the team at Airborne Platforms have been great in helping me with my GVC course and subsequent PFCO Authorisation. I found the online course really intuative and the ability to use the portal to study a bit whenever I wanted to be useful fitting in and around everything else. Any problems or issues I had I got a fast response from Chris usually by a phone call to go through the issue and resolve super quickly. The weekly meeting sessions were a goldmine of information and great to be able to get Chris and Denis obvious expertise on problems that can come up I hadn't even thought of, they are both very knowledgeable and happy to help. When it came time for my practical, Mick and Chris were very encouraging and put me at ease quickly and it was quickly apparent that they had me as a student as their prime concern. Chris and he’s team are absolutely amazing. I started my course a while back and really needed to do things in my own time what with a busy day job and other things going on in life. Chris was super patient through my course, always there when I needed assistance, but at the same time gave me a push to gain my drone licence all in good time before the new 2021 legislations took effect. The course work was really informative and by the end ingrained into my head, so when it came to the final exam the questions were second nature to answer. When it came to my final practical flight exam in Peterborough this was with Mick, who again is a really cool lovely guy and made me feel very relaxed on the day. The weather wasn’t great when I got there, even though in London it wasn’t too bad. Mick was patient, gave it time for the weather to clear and luckily we had a window of clearer sky’s where I could do my flight test and pass with near on flying colours. I couldn’t recommend Airborn Platforms enough to anyone looking for a commercial UAV licence, or even someone simply requiring further drone knowledge with a none commercial certificate. Anyone who flys drones should invest time in being more knowledgeable in the safety rules and regulations. It makes you think twice before even powering up the DJI app. Thanks again to Chris and he’s team. A true 5 star service!

Chris at Airborne Platforms UK was fantastic througout the whole course. He was always at the end of the phone or email if there were any issues something that I didn't understand. The course notes were clear, concise and easy to digest and I liked the fact that I could complete the course in my own time at my own pace and then book the assessment when I was ready. Chris was very flexible for the assessment booking and kindly agreed to see me on a Saturday morning, he gave helpful hints and tips for being a better pilot and gave me more confidence in my operation. I can not recommend the guys at Airborne enough. The training model was easy to get into and the support all the way through the course was nothing short of exceptional. I have just completed the PFCO course with Airborne Platforms. This course has been brilliant. The attraction for me originally was the ability to do the beginning of the course online in modules, this made it financially affordable and soon i found i had completed the online sections and was ready to get to the assignments and exams to obtain my qualification, This is where i met Chris and with several 1:1 meetings on zoom we were able to complete my assignment and take my exams. Chris was a fountain of knowledge and was able to answer every question i had in great detail at a drop of a hat, I would recommend this to any one that is considering doing their PFCO.

I came to airborneplatforms for my pfco training after much deliberation ,having had a less than satisfactory experience with another company 18 months ago . Right from day one i could tell that the course was going to be very different . the expert and very helpful Chris Marshal , has from start to finish always answered any and all questions that have arisen from the course work and in a friendly well understandable manner ,Fully going over anything that i wasnt sure of . The modular online learning method enabled me to learn and refresh quickly and efficiently , in fact i think i have the highest exam result ive ever had ! The covid lockdown could have made things very difficult but Chris and the team have worked on zoom meetings every week ,which are highly attended , they allow others at all levels on the course to learn directly through scenario driven screen sharing demonstrations and question and answer sessions after the demo .this helped massively to reinforce the online course work and gave me enough knowledge and confidence to pass all the exams and the practical assessment . If you are considering taking the pfco or its replacement operational Authorisation , i doubt you will find a better company to do it through , the price also helps makes the whole course extremely good value for money and once passed Chris doesnt just cut you loose he is on hand to help and assist as ever so the sky really is the limit !
