Reviews of The Warehouse Apartments
Standard on-suite rooms. Decent kitchens. Close to campus. There were a few problems but the reception staff were really friendly, on the ball, and sorted things out quickly. Usually within a week. Mick really helped me out when I left some things behind. Definitely recommend. Probably the best accommodation I've seen in this price range but the great staff will be the reason I return here for my final year.
Lived there for 4 years. The biggest pro of the place is its location; it's very close to the university buildings (some buildings are as close as a 3 minute walk), to the library, as well as some pubs (including my personal favourite one - The Guild) and stores (Co-op and Spar). The price for the ensuite room isn't too bad either considering its privately owned student accommodation halls we're talking about. The internet is quite good too; 50mb/s is more than is offered in some other places around the town.
However!
No one seems to care to do a thorough cleaning after previous tenants; don't be surprised to see a dirty microwave, a sticky tabletop, or in my case: broken chairs. Rooms are clean, don't worry about that, the same however cannot be said about the kitchen.
On top of that, the size of the fridge is a huge disappointment; you've got a small fridge with only 3 shelves that you have to share with at least 3 other people. Unless your flatmates have no use for the fridge, you will be fighting over its limited capacity. Speaking of appliances, remember that using the washing machines will cost you at least 4 quid every time.
I also felt offended when after living in the same room for 3 years, I was forced into moving because my room had been rented to an international student. You would think that your loyal tenant who has been with you for years would take any priority over newcomers but clearly not.
My last gripe is with the booking fee. I don't know if it's a cultural thing but I don't really see the point in requiring me to pay a booking fee when I'm willing to pay for the whole year straight away. The point of a booking fee is to make sure that one doesn't go back on what has been agreed, and if they do, they lose money; however, how is that any fair in the situation when I'm signing the contract right that moment and paying for all 43 weeks. Honestly, that's quite scammy.
My son has booked an apartment with the Warehouse. This is the first time he will be staying away from the family and we wanted to ensure that the apartments will have enough facilities. And the apartments were spacious and had enough facilities just like home. We met some of the students who were staying there and we had positive feedback from everyone. So far, the staying experience has been great.
Modern student accommodation, 2-5 minute walk from all the University buildings, very convenient. Big bed, lovely kitchen, prompt repairs and someone to contact for emergencies 24/7. The best part about this accommodation is by far the extremely friendly staff. Whether you want advice about something, or just an uplifting chat, reception is the place to go. Best decision I ever made to live here, and looking forward to living here again for the coming academic year. 100% recommend!
I haven’t moved here yet and am bound to give another review but have to comment on the amazing service I have received so far! Nick has been amazing in accommodating my needs and staff where lovely when I went to visit, room looked big and clean cannot wait for September
Really smooth booking, thanks to Nikhar at the office! Gave us an awesome deal as well as it being short notice and was really accommodating to my requests.
