Cannot speak highly enough of Fernlea. I don’t really know how we can thank the whole team enough for what they have done for our beloved dog Bear over the years but particularly in the last few months. The genuine care, concern and kindness shown by every member of the team, from reception to nurses to vets is second to none. Both my husband and I would recommend them to anyone. We are so grateful for what they have done for our boy and giving us precious extra time together whilst always putting Bear and his quality of life first. Bear is absolutely loving his new pain free, 3-legged life. He’s adapted so well - nothing can stop him! Thank you Fernlea, so much.

I cannot thank Matt and his team enough for what they've done for my Springer Spaniel Harvey. Harvey suffered a very complicated elbow fracture after landing awkwardly during a very routine walk and as you can imagine, I was full of worry and uncertainty. Matt came highly recommended by my local vet who described him as 'the best'. When you're entrusting your pet into someone else's care for surgery, that kind of recommendation goes a long way to providing peace of mind. Matt very compassionately made it clear that it was a complicated fracture and though he was optimistic, he needed me to be aware of potential complications. If I remember correctly, Harvey went into surgery at roughly 4pm. I had a phone call from the lady on reception at about 9pm to say that the surgery had gone well and Matt was just stitching him up. After finishing the surgery, and whilst he must have been exhausted, Matt called me at 11pm to explain the surgery to me in-depth. Matt was very pleased with the outcome, as was I, who had been nervously waiting. Three weeks on from the op, Harvey is now recovering well. He's using his leg again and is able to go for short 5 minute walks a few times a day. He still has a long way to go, but thanks to the expert care of the very humble Matt and his team, he is still healthy and in one piece! Again, I can't thank them enough. I wouldn't go anywhere else now. Fernlea Vets has a friend and customer for life. My only disappointment is that due to the pandemic and logistics, I was unable to meet and thank Matt personally.

Cannot fault this vets at all. I have used many in Bristol and Fernleigh have amazed me! Both branches are so friendly and really value your pets! Services are very well priced as well as any medical treatment we’ve had. My dog recently suffered a ruptured disc in his spine and they were absolute life savers. They even called me to see how he was getting on after his op! 5 starts just isn’t enough! I have to add it’s quite nice to find a vet who doesn’t judge me for having 2 bulldogs too!!

Our rescure dog was referred to Matt from our own vet for treatment and operation on her knee. We found the whole experience very Professional and calm . Matt was very informative and took us through every step of Pips treatment. The staff were very friendly and helpful. So glad we have found a caring practice . Matt gave us an estimate of costs and we were surprised to find that the cost no "extras" As experienced in other practices. I thank you for taking such good care of our special Greek Goddess . l

Brilliant vets, they treated my Pomeranian back in August 2016 when he was ran over, and our insurance wouldn't cover the cost. The vets done his surgery for a much lower price. And we are forever grateful for them for saving our boy who is still going strong.

The staff are lovely and friendly i have a really nervous poodle and they always do what i ask ive been going to this vets for over 15 years with my poodle hes just had surgery there and they treat them as if it was there animal like there part of there family always been understanding as well and explain everything to you and dont just take your money without giving you knowledge about procedures etc x

Fernlea vets (Hanham/Kingswood) is a lovely vets, we volunteer for Bristol and Wales cat reduced and such we often have to go up and get cats checked out to make sure they are in good health. They always do a good thorough check and make sure the cat is super healthy. I don't have a dog, but I see plenty of them waiting outside when I go, they all seem to get treated so well. Furthermore everything they have helped me with, in regards to the cats health has been sensible and pragmatic, and best of all, effective! Hanham one has a slightly dodgy parking arrangement, so if you are driving and have a choice, I would go to Kingswood - but both are fine, you just may have to end up walking a bit in Hanham.

Matt, Amy and all the Fernlea Vets team were amazing. Exoensive price tags don't always mean excellent care and great patient service (instead of customer service 😊) My Lab had a total hip replacement. We come from Poole, Dorset. I called few orthopedic vets to discuss the surgery, a quote for the procedure and my lad's history. I won't be naming other practices but some of them are very popular. Yet none of orthopedic vets bothered to call me to talk about it, apart from Matt, who took the time to call me. He explained the procedure, discussed my boy's health and agreed the steps to take. Their care is first class, my boy was looked after properly. I got all the support I needed. I was updated as promised whilst my boy was with them and the nurse discharging Oreo was very friendly, ran through what was going to happen next, meds and instructions. Our darling Bertie was laid to rest today. Such a sad day for anyone that knew him. He suffered so much in his life but never grumbled & was my best friend. We can highly recommend Matthew as orthopaedic surgeon. He did all he could to keep our very anxious and very big German Shepherd relaxed and the treatment was totally successful. Hope we don't need such treatment again, but would have no hesitation in returning should the need arise.
