After making the heartbreaking decision to put our beloved spaniel Alfie to sleep we contacted Lucy & arranged a time for her to call. As soon as Lucy came through the door she was very friendly & made our Alfie feel very special by giving him lots of attention. Lucy made a heartbreaking situation very calm by talking us through every step & going at a slow pace to allow us time for our grief. Lucy is a very caring compassionate professional vet who made our very difficult situation seem less painful & treated our Alfie with dignity. Thank you Lucy

We very sadly and reluctantly had to make the decision to say goodbye to our beloved Staffy, Kos. Lucy was very accommodating to Kos and our needs the whole way through the process, being contactable to answer our questions prior to the appointment and kindly taking Kos to Tendring Pet Crematorium for us afterwards as neither of us could face it. Lucy's kind and compassionate approach brought us comfort at this difficult time and we received a lovely message from her a few days later. We would highly recommend her to anyone considering this as an option to say goodbye to their beloved fur baby.

From first contact with Lucy she showed her caring nature both for our dog and for us. Our previous experience of having a dog put to sleep was a very hurried impersonal affair in a surgery that she had only been to three or four times and dreaded visiting. We didn't want that experience for Gizmo and so looked for someone who could come to us. We found Lucy online and having read her webpage decided that she was the one for us. How right we were! Lucy came to us and immediately established a rapport with our dogs while chatting to us about what she was going to do and if putting Gizmo down was the right decision. She observed him for some time and said that we had made the right decision. She spent time with Gizmo and us before giving him a sedative to settle him. He went to sleep in his own bed and wasn't even aware of the injection that followed. That was the kindness that we wanted for him and Lucy's approach was so kind and gentle that he clearly had no distress which was very important to us. We had discussed cremation and Lucy arranged for Tendring Pet Cremation to attend which they did shortly after Lucy left. What good choice they were. He was treated with such dignity and respect and we were able to drive over to them to collect him the following day. He will now rest in a special place in the garden as my husband will install a circular tree seat and once he has decided his favourite seating position Gizmo will be interred there so that he is at my husband's feet - his favourite place. We were extremely grateful to have such a kind and caring vet at such a distressing time, thank you Lucy. I would recommend this service without hesitation.

It is never an easy decision to make, to let go of a beloved member of the family. Lucy was absolutely wonderful from the first point of contact. She ensured that my darling boy, Kenzo, was comfortable and able to pass away peacefully and without any more pain in the comfort of his own home. Her calm and caring manner was very comforting and she took the time to explain the process, that my ‘bear’ would not be in any discomfort at all that he would peacefully slip away. Lucy also helped arrange the cremation with Tendring Pet Cremation, as she understood how painful that call would be. I recommend Lucy without reservation and, as awful as it is to contemplate in the future, would certainly have no hesitation in contacting her again when the time comes for my other ‘bears’. Lucy visited our home after it became clear that our Dalmatian Ruby was ready to leave us. Obviously a very traumatic and incredibly sad time after nearly 15 years but I have to say that Lucy was thoughtful, compassionate, caring and totally professional putting all of us, including Ruby at ease. You never know and always wonder if you have chosen the right time but it was without doubt the right decision to choose Lucy. Lucy has a unique balance of compassionate care, knowledge and professionalism. When my family and I got in touch about our dog, Meg, Lucy talked us through the process and was in touch over text late in the evening, offering reassurance & comfort. Lucy’s passion for animals is clear, Meg took to her immediately & she reassured us we were doing the right thing for our poorly girl. When the time came, Lucy made sure Meg was comfortable by administering medication suitable for her & giving my mum, my sister & I space so we could sit around her while she fell asleep. Thank you Lucy for taking our girl on her final journey & helping her come back to us the same day. We couldn’t have asked for a better and more peaceful end to a very long & happy life.

The time had come to sadly say goodbye to our beloved 14 year old black Labrador Jessie. It was such a lovely peaceful goodbye at home in her bed surrounded by her loved ones. Lee and I were struggling to make the decision on putting our beautiful boy Sampson to sleep. Lucy was patient and understanding and allowed us space to make the decision. On the day, she was calming and talked us through each step allowing us time to be with Sampson. He passed peacefully in his own home with us giving him a cuddle. Lucy was just wonderful. Honestly, I can't praise her enough. I was so dreading having to put my lovely cat, Eddie, to sleep but Lucy really put me at ease and convinced me that I was doing the right thing. She spent ages ensuring that Eddie was relaxed before she even sedated her. She then waited for about 15 minutes to ensure that the sedation had worked before she injected the final draft. Eddie then just drifted off and didn't know a thing. I was devastated but I know that it was the right thing for her.

Cannot recommend Lucy enough, she is so so caring and kind. My poor friend sadly had to have her cat Sam put to sleep and wanted it done in the comfort of his home. I couldn’t recommend this lovely lady enough, she was the most comforting and understanding person. We sadly had to say goodbye to our beautiful Labrador Ollie, she was thoroughly professional and caring, she went above and beyond for us and arranged everything, our boy even returned to us 24 hours later which was so nice to have him back in our home so quickly. There was no rush and there couldn’t of been a better way to of said goodbye to our boy. The whole experience was calming and reassuring that he is most definitely in a better place now. Bodhi was my third German shepherd dog so I knew at age 10 when both his back legs gave way within days of each other the time had come to do right by my boy. The look on his face told me he’d had enough so I took the most difficult decision to give my boy what he deserved a loving goodbye with all of us his family around him and him comfortably at home where he knew he was loved and with ‘his girls’ Dottie Clarice and Nayla all by his side. Lucy arrived and immediately showed the most loving compassion to my boy talking to him and stroking his head throughout. He passed in the most peaceful way I could have wished for and he now lays at rest in his favourite spot on my land where he loved to watch the sun set. Lucy was so amazing I couldn’t have asked for a better person and my little clarice is 18 years old so I know when the times right for her I will again be calling on Lucy to give my girl the goodbye she deserves too. The most loving touch was the little satin bag with my boys fur in which I had no idea about until after showing the true empathy Lucy felt for us. Thank you Lucy x

I can’t thank Lucy enough for her compassion and flexibility in getting out to us quickly when our dear old Labrador declined rapidly. We planned on one last day with her but it wasn’t to be so Lucy changed her plans at the last minute to come out to us much earlier than planned. When it was time for our beautiful Labrador retriever Nelson to leave us we wanted to ensure he had the dignity and respect he deserved, at home surrounded by people who loved him. Lucy came to our house and was totally amazing - her kindness and compassion was beyond measure and she happily crawled around the floor to make sure Nelson was settled and comfortable after his initial sedation. She explained what was happening every step of the way and nothing was too much trouble for her - Nelson fell into a deep sleep enabling us all to say our goodbyes and he actually snored his way peacefully over that rainbow bridge in his own basket surrounded by his family (and his cat friends) Our hearts are forever broken but there are no words to express how grateful we are to Lucy in enabling us to give our boy this peaceful respectful and dignified end - which was no less than he deserved after a lifetime of loyalty and happy memories. Thank you Lucy from the bottom of our hearts - we have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone else having to face this xxx
