I joined this practice as they did home visits. From start to finish, nothing was too much trouble! From the wonderful receptionist Laura, the kind and expert vet Anita and dear assistant Naomi, a painful time was made bearable for me, my family and my terminally ill hound. So grateful.

I dropped in here after one of the aristocats I serve sustained an injury to his left front leg following an altercation whilst he was out socialising. "Harry" returned home after a night on the tiles with a large cut to his front left shoulder/top of leg. As the dutiful servant that I am, i bathed and applied anti septic to the wound. (Aristocats are not financially forthcoming and I have currently fallen on extremely hard times due to a serious illness and have no income) The following day I observed a dramatic change in eating habits,behaviour and appearance... the only thing I could do was take him to my local vet's and plead for them to help him. St.Runwalds - came to "Our" aid. They were AMAZING... "Harry" needed pain killers and anti biotics... urgently... The immediate service and care that St Runwalds provided us with was nothing short of "The Best". It was an extremely stressful time for us.. however.., TINA W - REALLY pulled out all of the stops for us. Nothing short of passionate about "Harry's" well-being. When the Rspca and Pdsa failed us, TINA and the rest of the staff at ST. RUNWALDS REALLY CARED for both of us. I really am so grateful... "Harry" is back to his chilled out happy self.. THANK YOU ALL SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH X

It's been a tough 2 years for businesses, especially independent ones. Despite COVID, social distancing measures, irritated clients and other issues, the team at St Runwalds remain professional and upbeat. They provide excellent care and attention to our furry friends, offering a high level of service and going that extra mile. Anita and the team have worked tirelessly to ensure the practice has remained opened during such stressful times. I have been using them 40 years and I can't recommend them highly enough! We cannot recommend St. Runwalds highly enough. The way Anita and her superb staff cared for and about our beautiful puppy Douglas was way beyond our expectations. Though we ultimately lost him after months of illness and trips between Colchester and the Cambridge referral vets, the professionalism, care and dedication of Anita and her team always gave us the confidence he was in the best possible hands. They even sent a condolence card to us after he passed which helped us in our time of grief to realise that it was shared by them. Please carry on the fantastic work.

I've been using st runways for 14 years now with my 2 huskies. They are knowledgeable(important with this breed) and have a great "bedside manner" with the dogs. Again important to keep them calm in a place that most animals dont like to go. Cant recommend them enough. And I do to all who I know.

We have been taking our dogs here for years. The staff have always been very helpful even with short notice bookings. They even helped me with an injured pigeon the animal was out of their remit but due to the current situation ( covid ) no one else wanted to help so they said I could take it in. Thank you

I have recently moved to Colchester and wanted to find a vets practice I could feel as comfortable with as I did with my previous one. I did some research and decided on St Runwalds. Upon taking my dog there for the first time today I knew I had made the right decision. The waiting room was clean and calm with a separate area for cats. The reception staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful and efficient! My dog was seen by Ros who was very kind and gentle and put both Matilda and myself at ease. She examined Tilda very thoroughly and explained each step. She also explained the medication, what it did and why she was prescribing it. We didn't feel at all rushed. All the meds were stocked in-house and the fees were very reasonable indeed! St Runwalds is now the vet for my pets!

I was impressed by St Runwalds' social distancing measures today. It's hard not being allowed inside with your pet for their appointment but the receptionist was very friendly over the phone and the vet was lovely when she came out to collect and return my Ragdoll cat. The outside social distancing zone is clear and and instructions of what to do on arrival where also clearly visible. We're still relatively new to St Runwalds after moving to the area only last year. I'd been quite apprehensive about changing vets after being with the same ones for about 20 years but they've been great with both my Ragdoll's who have visited separately for their annual vaccinations and yearly check ups.

I've never faulted the care at this vets. I've ised it for many many years. I've also used other vets in this time but I have always come back to this vets. It feels so personal at this vets. The care and compassion is just wonderful. They are not money grabbing like the vets around colchester that are becoming very commercialised. This independent vets has that personal touch. Will always plead with people to use this vets over any other as I have had a huge range of animals and have had countless vets visits and emergency and many different vet experiences. They are very very helpful try their very best with options and advice.

Anita James has been my vet for over 25 years. I completely trust her and believe her to be the very best. Anita is not just a brilliant vet but is a kind, caring and lovely lady and I would not go to anyone else. I have had a lot of pets over the years and have a large dog family at present and all my pets have always had the very best of care with Anita and her staff.
