It was the first appointment after experiencing difficulties at a previous surgery. From the minute I made the first call to leaving the practice after the appointment I can’t speak highly enough regarding the compassion and care provided to my little dog. I was genuinely surprised and believe I now have a little dog that will never love a trip to the vets but will no longer be so terrified that she will almost pass out with fear. That’s down to the caring and patient attitude of the lovely vet. A simple thing like having nails cut will not be a stressful and upsetting experience for my little dog and for that I am extremely grateful.

This was my 1st visit with a new-to-me puppy, a rescue of approximately 6 months of age from overseas. The reception staff were extremely helpful and kind, and even recognised my puppy from our visit the previous week when we booked his first visit. The vet was kindness itself, both to me and Merlin, and the concerns I had were addressed in an easy-to-understand manner. His treatment was explained to me, which made the visit calm and easy for both of us!

All the vets and nurses and vets 4 pets colchester were outstanding with us and showed us empathy and supported us through our experience. We now have two more puppies and we have come back to pets 4 vets colchester because of the kindness they showed to us as a family and we trust them as vets we trust then because In our darkest time they took the time to speak to us to make sure we were clear with every step we made for our beautiful boy and made sure we did the right decision and YOUR staff were incredible and were always able to answer a call to us when we wanted to ask a question I will always highly satisfied with the vets and nurses at Colchester practice the only thing I would suggest is maybe a little more personal approach is needed with the reception staff. I complelety understand they are over worked and trying to get through the queue but sometimes when observing they could be quite brunt to people because they are trying to get the queue down but apart from that i would always highly recommend Vets 4 Pets Colchester due to the vets and the nurses with their support and passion for animals

My Lab Otter needed eye drops on a regular basis after undergoing ocular surgery. Johan and all the nurses were more than happy to administer the eye drops to Otter and the atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming that, what could have been a traumatic experience for him as an 11 month old pup, he looked forward to getting into the car to go and see his friends again. Absolutely brilliant . Called up for an appointment . 20 minutes later we’re in the room being seen . I have an aggressive German Shepard who hates other dogs and they made sure that when we arrived we were able to go straight in with no distractions . Good to see the shop still observing Covid regulations along with the vets. Once booked in didn't have to wait long and we were called in. The vet made our dog feel calm and took his time to introduce himself to our dog. Thorough examination on his annual check up. Collected the next lot of worming and flea tabs saving another trip. The reception team are always warm and friendly and strive to answer any question I may have. The vets are very warm and seem to truly care for the welfare of my dogs. They ask lots of questions and like detailed answers so as to get the correct treatment for my dogs. I was also extremely happy that on 2 separate occasions a vet took time to speak with me about the dogs via the phone and an email as I was quarantined so unable to bring them into the surgery.

Air con helped both me & my anxious dog. Short waiting time, fairly priced, problem explained well. But the best part is having a vet actively interested in your dog, giving them fusses to help calm them, instead of just being clinical. Was very impressed.

My rabbit Bagel had stopped eating so I called and was told to come down immediately for an emergency appointment. The vet Bianca saw Bagel and was very thorough. Having taken Bagel to out of hours emergency vets a few months ago it was reassuring to talk to someone face to face this time and I was able to ask lots of questions and get advice. Bianca was so knowledgable and I am so grateful for her help. Bagels health improved within a few hours and now he's back to normal!

I have attended the practice several times with my kittens for vaccinations, neutering and surgery. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Everybody is incredibly friendly and reassuring and vets and nurses are very professional and responsive. The practice is well managed with regard to picking up medications and waiting times. As I find vet visits highly stressful, their friendly and professional care makes all the difference.

Although the staff are lovely, I would imagine that my kitten is now developing a penchant for ball play after the amount of times they've had a good route around in that area in order for me to simply book him in for his neutering. Their policy claims research that suggests this procedure is better done at 4 months, however they practice something completely different and call the firing squad when you choose to follow the research. I had to pay another £40 to be told he was ready for the procedure, something I knew from his first vaccinations. And I can only imagine how much I'm going to have to pay out in lovehoney bills for a cat with a ball fetish.

It would have been good to know our appointment was before the store opened as getting in was slightly awkward but that is the only fault in a very successful visit.

Been our vets for 10 years now and never had a problem. Always get through on the phone and a prompt appointment follows. We have had two emerancy operations with one of our cocker spaniels (eating a car part which caused a blockage in his intestines) and over the week the staff were so kind, considerate and looked after our boy well, one of the vets spent his lunch breaks with our boy, can't get more caring than that. Always friendly, want to listen and give great advice. I'm always happy when we leave and the main thing is so are our 2 dogs and 3 cats :-)

Got an emergency appointment within 30mins of my Labrador picking up some rat poison he found. 1 hour later we had a Labrador who felt very sorry for himself after having his stomach cleared but who will be absolutely fine. The staff were amazing as usual - never had a bad experience here. Very reassuring. The overall bill I thought was very very reasonable considering the lateness of the appointment, the stomach clearing (he had just eaten a lot of fish as well - tht couldn’t have smelt nice), the time it took and the amount of tablets we got sent home with. So happy with the service from all members of staff working here.

Im always nervous taking my rabbit to the vet because she has permanent severe head tilt (see euki_bunny on insta) - something not all vets understand the true nature of. Anyway the vet I saw yesterday was brilliant, I was so impressed. He understood her response under stress and he checked her over extreamly thoroughly, understanding that she has certain limitations. He pin pointed the problem and I felt happy that the treatment plan was more of a discussion rather than something imposed on her and me. He took his time and was very knowlegable and proffesional.

We moved to this vets because they are open 7 days a week, which can save you a lot of money if your pet gets sick over the weekend. We have two bulldog, Marmite and Boris so they tend to see us at least once a month. You can see how much they love animals, it's not just about the money for them. We wouldn't take them anywhere else now because the dogs love them too.
