The team here is very professional - the same level of professionalism you would expect from a good human hospital. Highly recommend this place but hope you never need it.
C. F.Our 4.5 year old cat Pickle, was referred here by pets at home Colchester after he continued to not be able to walk without a serious limp. Sadly after a CT scan he was diagnosed with a tumour from his leg along his back and to the base of his brain. The nurses were sympathetic, and the vet despite having to put Pickle to sleep was great, giving us final time with him.

J. H.Polite and well spoken staff, clean place, knowledgeable surgeon who explained everything. Surgery is expensive, definately get pet insurance and make sure they can do direct claims with instant payments else you'll be forking out for it first then waiting.
Knocked a star off for this as felt pressed to pay £1000 deposit and claim it back of the £2800. Still seems to be a good place.
D. C.Our dog was referred to Christchurch for a TPLO operation to reconstruct the knee due to a ruptured cruciate ligament.
The whole experience was very impressive. From the outset we were put at ease by Shane who clearly was highly experienced, accomplished and qualified. Communication was good and the operation went according to plan.
Early days so far, but the operation is done and our little dog has started her journey towards normal mobility and a normal life.

M. R.My young cat was suffering recurring ear infections that did not resolve with any conventional therapy and after spending loads of time and money (and him suffering) our vet referred us for a CT to investigate possible polyps or other middle ear problems. In London waiting lists for this were very long and costs just for the investigation (not including any treatment to resolve the problem) were very high. Christchurch vet referrals offered to investigate and operate on our cat in one go, if the underlying problem was indeed a polyp, saving my cat another round of anaesthesia and me some money.
The team at the surgery was very caring and friendly, the surgeon explained everything to me sufficiently and answered all my questions. Luckily they were able to operate right after the scan and we were able to pick up our cat the next day. Despite nerve damage being a common possible issue with the type of procedure my cat needed (a TECA/LBO) he is doing fine, no issues with that at all. His ear is healing without any issue and the surgery has checked in on us to and answered all questions I had during his recovery.
I am really greatful to the team at the surgery and so happy that this seems to be the last of his ear problems and we now have a healthy, happy, relaxed cat. Would absolutely recommend, even if you are, like me, travelling from further away.

My local vet referred Blaze and after a couple of consultations and scans he had the operation and stayed at Christchurch for 2 weeks being spoilt by the lovely nurses .

S. S.Don't know how this was originally posted with only one star. Anyway my experience last March with Christchurch referrals was excellent from start to finish. My Border Collie Finlay had to have an operation to sort out his ruptured cruciate ligament and from the first phone call from the admin team to the final consult with the vet, the whole process was exemplary. I cannot praise the whole team highly enough. Thank you all once again for helping Fin make a fantastic recovery.

Had to have our little Griffin who is only 5 years old Have her knees re molded as her knee caps were to big for the sockets so as a result kept moveoing out of place making walking impossible at times. She would freeze in motion and not be able to take another step. She spent three long days in hospital but was bright as a button when we went to collect her. So happy to see us.
We have to Very careful with her for the next month or so but Aparently every thing went well. Time will tell but have everything crossed. Adrian the surgeon was realy great and took all the time in the world to answer our questions. And to explain the process of the opperation. What happens before dureing and after and realy put my wife at ease. Great for peace of mind

l. b.i took gerrard here 3 years ago for a tplo surgery , and yesterday he went for his other knee to be done , once again we received the most amazing treatment and care , i could not recommend these enogh , from the surgeons the nurses and the receptionists , they are all caring helpful understanding compassionate and amazing at what they do , thank you all once again from me and gerrard
