I was advised "The Barn Vets" after another vet told me my pet couldn't be saved, and to take her home (no pain relief offered). About 3 days later I saw Jeremy at the Barn. He immediately put my girl on pain relief and antibiotics before getting her booked in for life saving surgery. She made a full recovery and was as happy as ever. All of my pets have always been treated with kindness and dignity by the whole team, warm and welcoming and will always make a fuss of your fur babies (including the reception team, who will go above and beyond to match you to the best vet for you) 💜

This Veterinary Practice needs to update their phone line. I could hardly hear the lady on the other end. I have good hearing, but anyone hard of hearing would struggle to hear anything on their phone line. But the actual Practice is clean, hygienic and very well presented to visit with your poorly pets

Had to take out dog to for his annual booster vaccination, the receptionists were very friendly and really kept our dogs at ease. The vet commented on how relaxed they were and I feel this is due to the atmosphere in the surgery.

Always the most gentle care in moments of need for my furry fam, the times I’ve had to leave my little ones in their hands I know they will be cared for as much as in a home environment. I have had some of the worst moments of my life with the people working for Barn vets but thanks to them, my memories of those moments are heartbreakingly beautiful, soft, quiet and gentle. Can’t recommend them enough. I never experience them adding unnecessary costs, if anything might be optional or for me to decide they will let me make the decision before that extra injection or how to wrap a break or whatever it be. Always putting their patients first and it’s clear they are in this job for the love of those they are helping.

We’ve been using The Barn Veterinary Practice on Ashcroft Road for the past 7 years for our Cocker Spaniel, Murphy. I’ve always found everyone at the practice so friendly and welcoming. Now Murphy is the sort of dog who thinks it’s funny to eat things he shouldn’t…such as cat poo, nappies, toffee apples, Sudafed etc etc etc and on the many occasions this has happened, the practice has always been very accommodating in being able to see him straight away. From our experiences at the practice, I would highly recommend them, particularly if your pet has an adventurous palate like Murphy.

Our first visit to the Barn vets was unplanned and a semi-emergency as the stress of our move into the area had triggered a bout of cystitis in our 12-year old cat. The practice fit me in quickly and the vet took excellent care of our Fabs. He also listened to what I said about his history and took it to create a treatment and action plan going forward.

So pleased to be allowed into the clinic room on my recent visit with my German Shepherd Zeus. He is very stressy and vocal so can really get wound up. We always see Mark who is fantastic with Zeus and he quickly diagnosed a suspect lump which needs removing without delay. We're booked in next week and we know Mark will look after our boy and give us all the information we need to make informed decisions.

After being registered with a different vets that I felt were more concerned about money than the welfare of animals, I decided to seek a second opinion at The Barn. The service was outstanding, my concerns were listened to and I was reassured. The treatment I’d been told was necessary to be carried out straight away by the other vets was deemed not to be the case by the lovely vet who saw my cat at The Barn. She listened to all of my concerns and addressed them in a way that made me feel confident in this practice and their commitment to animals. We have a plan moving forward and everything was explained very clearly to me, including the prices (which are very fair). Getting an appointment was quick and easy, there was no waiting around ages in the carpark and the warmth and sincerity of the vet we saw put me instantly at ease. Merlin (cat) was off his food and listless, so called the vets. Phone was answered quickly and a appointment slot found. So that part of the saga went well. At the appointed time took Merlin to vets, checked in at reception and gave parking bay number. Covid restrictions meant had to wait outside. Vet came out asked questions and took Merlin in. Returned soon after could not find anything, but had given him a antibiotic shot. Said if problem continued, Merlin would need blood test. Back a couple of days later, blood test and results same day. Nasty infection, requiring a course of antibiotics. Overall very happy with the interaction with the vets. Whole thing handled well and in as short a time as possible.

I have been with the Barn Veterinary practice for many years now. I have only ever received first class treatment every time I have needed them. Even out of hours they are still there if you need help. When my beloved dog Amber was diagnosed with cancer the care she received was exemplary. Thankyou Mark she couldn't have been in safer hands. When she died everyone was so kind and sympathetic. From the friendly, helpful reception staff to the most caring and knowledgeable group of vets. When we became the owners of a new little dog Josie it goes without saying there was only one group of vets that I would trust with her care.

Lovely friendly practice, with fair prices and good vets. I wish we could now go into a consultation with our pets as there was things I forgot in the car park that I wanted the vet to check and remembered after my pet had gone in. Thats the only thing that stopped a 5* rating.

The Barn Vets have been looking after our pets for over a decade. I have never had an issue although it was very hard to say goodbye to one of our cats when he had to be put to sleep. Due to Covid we had to say goodbye outside and leave him, not being able to be with him at the last after 23 years was heartbreaking.

Visited the Ashcroft Road surgery for first time yesterday with bit of an emergency, grass seed in dogs ear, treatment was great, able to get an appointment quickly and grass seed removed under sedation with my boy home by lunchtime. I have been with this vetinary practice since it opened there must be over 20 years. I have had a very highly rated visit with any of my animals from pet rats, guinea pigs, cats, dogs. As they have another site near copdock which I used in an emergency and for surgery on my current cat. I feel they are honest, never charge for unnecessary care or medicine. The standard of care in all staff of high standard. They give professional care. They do not complain about the customers or make anyone feel uncomfortable. They have help available to help with disabled customers and have disabled parking space. Access is as on one level for wheel chairs and buggies. Small stock of cat and hog and small animal food and toys. Stock of flea treatments at available over the counter that are safe and vet recommended. Hope this info is useful. Not all vets offer such professional care and highly trained staff dedicated to their work.

Always found the Practice friendly & helpful. Taken our dogs & cats there for the past 40 years. 5 months ago rehomed a 13 year old male cat who was in a poor condition so we found out. The Vets after lots of Tests diagnosed IBS. He has to have an injection every six weeks for life, but is now able to keep his food down & is a healthy cat. Would recommend the Barn V. Practice to all. .

took both my kittens to be neutered and microchipped, Jenny was very efficient, my kittens were relaxed and not at all worried when I put them in their boxes to go back to have their stitches removed or when I got them out in the surgery. They also work closely with the RSPCA so take vouchers towards treatment if you are on low income. They really do care about the animals they are treating and readily give any advice about aftercare treatment. Thoroughly recommend and will continue to use myself.

I couldn't have wished for better treatment for my very poorly Milo, (border collie dog) from the vets and nurses that stayed with him all night, to the ladies working on the reception were all so lovely and caring and supportive. I am giving The Barn 5 stars (even though I've not been there... yet). Today I called the practice because they showed up on a PDSA Google search. I am currently having financial difficulties and need to somehow have my old dog seen by a vet. The receptionist took the time to explain that PDSA is a scheme that people have to sign up for. But then, she took the time to listen compassionately (no guilt trip) and she explained some of the services available in Ipswich and provided me with phone numbers to call. I don't think I have ever had such a helpful and understanding conversation with a clinic. The person who i eas speaking with went above and beyond. When I start working again, I am definitely going to switch to this practice!

The receptionist was very nice she fitted my dog into the appointments as she felt my dog needed to be seen the vet came out to the car she was lovely asked questions about my dog and then took her inside checked the dog over and that wasnt to long and she gave me the medication my dog needed and said if no better in five days bring her back .the veterinary was excellent with all the service I received .
