Our family always for years used this vets. During 1st Lockdown they were superb and my new dog could have her surgery. Excellent service as always, staff lovely, vets very empathetic.

We only joined this practice earlier this year and already we have tested their professionalism under emergency on more than one occasion. Our Vizsla (Lola) gave birth to 7 health pups and one not so healthy which had to be brought here for post natal support due to being born without being attached to an umbilical cord. Their instruction was to leave him with them for the whole day and we had to be made aware that the prognosis wasn't good for this situation however, we got the call we wanted almost at close of business telling us he'd massively improved throughout the day and had taken formula milk and a dose of glucose so he was ready to go back to mum. It did seem at this point that we were back on track only to discover the next day (2 days) after giving birth mum took ill and couldn't feed pups or even herself so again, we called Westwood to explain and they said to bring mother up straight away together with all pups as not to separate them. Shortly into the examination it was discovered that mum was still carrying an unborn that had to be immediately manually delivered which was carried out with such care and diligence by Anna, Hannah and Becky. Unfortunately the pup was still born but mother made a full recovery. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody at Westwood vets for their support and professionalism because without their quick response we could easily have lost a pup and also mother which would have been devastating for the whole litter. THANK YOU.

Westwood vets are the absolute best. I have never, in 5 years had a bad visit. The staff are kind, thoughtful, attentive and listen to my obsessive dog mum nonsense! My cat Valentino had had a bad experience at his previous vets. But with the gentle care and patience of Westwoods, East side Retail Park, Aberford Road. He has now been able to have his vaccinations again which he has not been able to have for a few years because of the trauma at his previous vet. He is a happy boy at the vets now. Thank u so much to the vets and reception staff. You are amazing. 😀

Staff are helpful, friendly and approachable, we joined the pet health club for our puppy which takes all the stress out of having to remember things like wormers and vaccinations. They text you when these are due and are included in the cost of the club so no large bills to pay as it's paid in manageable monthly installments.

I just registered my new puppy at this vets and they are a truly amazing team!! My other dog has gone here for a few years now and it's the first vets he seems OK about going to visit. I'm sure the pup will feel exactly the same. From the ladies on reception,the nurses, vets, everyone at this surgery is fantastic and makes my dogs feel totally at ease. Always friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. They looked after Rosie, my daughter's dog for a few years and dealt with her needs at the very end of her life in a sensitive and kind manner. Which was greatly appreciated. I now have two cats (Toby & Tilly aka TnT as they are dynamite!) both of whom are always looked after very well by the vets. In fact, the cats seem to enjoy their visits they are so relaxed!

Great experience in general. The waiting area is separated for cats and dogs, and there was an elevated space available for my cat to reduce his anxiety. The vets are always lovely and handle my cat very carefully. They explain everything well and try to accomodate my budget. Cannot praise enough.

Just moved to the area and changed vets for my 2 dogs. Can not praise this vets enough. They are the best I have had. All staff are friendly and welcoming. Vets themselves are really calm and explain everything that they are doing or want to do. One of my dogs is getting old and has started with a bad cough, the vets have given medication, but then is also looking at alternative medication from over the counter. Such a great vets !!

We took my beautiful lab here after we wanted a second opinion from our first consultation elsewhere. From the start it was obvious that they wanted to do the best for my beloved boy and nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately we had to put our boy (Elvis) to sleep as he deteriorated quickly , however we were helped through every step and everything was handled with Elvis being cared for in every possible way. They were simply amazing and made a very difficult situation as easy as was possible. I’d never go anywhere else now as the whole team put you and your pet first. I could not get through to my usual vet so went on line to find a different one. I had 3 to call but after the first phone call to Westwood my search was complete. Friendly and helpful from the first moment. More interested in my pet than anything else which is exactly what you want. No pushy insurance /petplan sales. Anna our vet went the extra mile to ensure our pet was happy, healthy and on the right tracks. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I have been using Westwood Vets for a few years now. I was amazed that they didn't ask you if your dog was insured as soon as you walk in. At another vet this was the 1st question and I am sure they did more than required because of it. I trust them 100%. I lost my Stella earlier this year. Even though it was lock down they were incredibly sensitive. They took her and got her ready then allowed me in to hold her as she went. They didn't nag for payment 1st they never do. I did forget to pay online and got a nice letter as a gentle reminder. My Ruby is just 1 now and she will stay with Westwood as they are the best vets I have ever gone to. Love this place! It’s always such a welcoming & friendly visit my animals actually like going to the vets!! It’s more like going to see friends than a dreading trip to the vets that it may be for some other places. They have a superb practice that is always clean and bright it’s enough to cheer anyone up. The surgery is in a brand new purpose built building. The staff are cheerful, friendly and efficient. The care my dog received here was excellent and the staff were especially helpful as this is not our normal veterinary surgery, I had reason to go whilst staying at my parents. Our son's dog had a infected paw due to a grass seed, Westwood vets, Garforth was lovely with him, from going through the door the staff were very friendly & you could tell instantly that it was a caring vets. Westwood Vets are really caring and always pleasent. I would recommend using the monthly plan. My dog has being going there since I got him and my dog before. They were really lovely when I lost my first dog to cancer. I had no issues going back to them for my new fur baby. I have recommended them to many people & they have also registered with Westwood Vets. The new clinic in Garforth is so easy to get to and parking is plentiful. Phoned Westwood vet & got in that night as our dog had hurt his back, could not have been more attentive & caring. He had a full examination & decided he had pulled his back trying to jump on car seat. Gave him an injection for the pain & anti inflammatory drops. Got a follow up & we know he is in good hands. What can I say except A superb caring Vet. Although me and my dog were not patient of this practice they were there for us in an emergency. My Boxer girl Iris had been epileptic for a while and was on medication. On Monday the 19th Sept Iris suffered what I can only call a very severe seizure or stroke so sever she was screaming in agony..My vet is a 35/40 minutes away in Dewsbury. I knew she needed a Vet asap so I rang the only other one I knew in Rothwell. Even though they could hear my baby screaming they said they were fully booked and couldn't see her and could only refer me to the Emergency vet in Morley another 30 minutes away.. Not very caring Vets!!!!...I immediately went on google and found Westwood Vets.. I rang them in a wild panic. They immediately said they would re-arrange patients so I could take Iris. We got her into car and drove there but as we arrived I'm afraid she died on the back seat of my car. I ran into the vets and they immediately all ran out of the surgery The Vet.. Vet nurse..and the Receptionist were all outside..The vet examined Iris on the seat of my car and confirmed she had died. They then lifted her very gently and took her inside..This Veterinary practice went above and beyond the call as the saying goes and I thank them so very much from the bottom of my heart and would recommend them to anyone... Thank You so much Westwood you have proved what a caring Veterinary practice you are..
