Incredibly helpful, supportive and so easy to contact if you are concerned at all about your pet. I am so pleased with the care that has been given to our cat. All the staff we have met have been really friendly too and everything they have in place during covid times has made me feel very safe.

As the first time owner of two cats, the team here have been wonderful. Kate has been our primary surgeon who sorted Otto and Goose with their vaccinations and neutering when I first brought them home, as well as their recent annual check up. She is calm and gentle with them both, which means their trip to the vet is not a stressful ordeal at all. Plus has given me a lot of valuable advice on how to keep them healthy and strong. Recently I had to bring in Goose for an emergency appointment. He was wobbling and sleepy and I feared the worse. The surgery got me an appointment within 20 mins of me calling. I waited not long before John saw to us, giving Goose a thorough check over. John was equally concerned and suggested we kept him overnight. Despite being the late hour, John updated me throughout the evening and into the small hours of the morning as he checked on Goose's progress. My hero! Thankfully Goose is fit and well, thanks to John's decisions and actions and Kerry's support. When a beloved pet is in need of help, this is the team you want to trust. Highly recommend. thank you!

My dog was attacked by another dog and seriously injured him. I was able to take him to this practice straight away and they were very compassionate and understanding. They were also very reassuring. They genuinely love animals

I’ve now taken my pet rat, Rita, twice and Miranda (I think that was her name), the vet who examined her, was so lovely. In fact, every single staff who I got to talk to was great. It is also nice to know that they don’t just specialise in cats and dogs but do treat ‘exotic’ pet like my ratties. I feel that they really do care about our furry companions, however small or big they are, they understand how they represent such a big part of our life.

Been taking my dogs here for 8 years now and I have always had the best care and service. Yes, at time you may have to wait a little for your appointment, but that's because John and his staff always take the time you and your pet needs in consult, discussing and explaining treatment. Vanessa Low has been treating my old greyhound for spinal arthritis and other geriatric symptoms for the last year, including regular acupuncture sessions - her expertise and care has definitely helped to keep him comfortable and happy and still with us at nearly 12 years old. Thanks to everyone at JH!

A lovely Vet clinic! As soon as you walk through the door you can tell that everyone here loves animals. All staff are so knowledgeable, professional, warm and friendly. The charges are also incredibly reasonable and fair. We could not recommend this practice more!

John Hankinson the man himself is an absolute Vet God! I’d had a hard time with my previous Vet locally which I just didn’t feel I was getting the best service for my little Frenchie. John Hankinson Vets was recommended to me by a fellow Dog Animal lover and the day I attended my appointment to see John he exceeded all of my expectations I was hoping for. He’s a credit to the industry, professional, caring, kind and I absolutely trusted him with my baby! which I really didn’t think I would after my nightmare experience with my previous Veterinary Clinic. He has that old school bedside manner and I just think he’s bloody amazing. To be honest so are all the team. Gemma. Leah. Kirsty. Jackie and the rest of the practice Team are so caring, helpful, friendly and they go above and beyond their call of duty. Excellent for bunnies! It can be difficult to find a vet practice that have good experience with rabbits. This vet practice are very knowledgeable, skilled and compassionate with lots of bunny experience. They offer a personalised service and go out of their way to make owner and pet feel comfortable. I also think that their fees are very reasonable and fair. We have been taking our bunny to this practice for 6 years and they never fail to go beyond our expectations. I wouldn't ever go anywhere else. The whole team are fantastic.

We've been going to John Hankinsons for over twenty years, so it's not that bad. John is aware that pets are expensive and is happy to discuss less expensive treatments, however some of the younger vets just think about the best possible for your pet with no thought of how it's funded. We have mongrel moggies, and although we love them, sometimes if it's a choice between a difficult to administer antibiotic or wait and see. I'd prefer the latter, especially when we need new tyres for the car.

Could not be happier with how they treat my cats (and me!) - they saw us as soon as they were able, before the allotted appointment time, the receptionist gave us a towel with Feliway sprayed on as she could see my cat was stressed in the box. The vet herself was gentle and had a real affinity for animals. My cat seemed completely unworried. She was so thoughtful that she suggested another nurse comes in to help with an injection so I am not associated with giving any pains. So all that, drop in consultation, examination, injection and special food was a little over £50. More than reasonable for a now happy cat.

John Hankinson and his partners have looked after our furry pals for more than twenty years. We would not use any other practice. So, even though I have now moved from East Dulwich to South Ockendon in Essex, we still bring all our chaps to his clinic. I cannot recommend them highly enough. The are reasonable in costs, but most of all, they are professional and caring people.
