My dog had an emergency over the weekend and I was calling around, most places were expensive. However, medivet was reasonable and managed to give me an appointment on the day. We had to wait for a bit, but then the vet kindly saw us. I was worried about how our dog was going to behave as he was scared to come into the vet and was shaking as it was his first emergency ever and it takes time for him to make friends. The vet was easygoing, patient and calm with our very anxious dog. Even though it took a while, we eventually got there in the end. I really appreciate my dog being seen and cared for urgently.

My dog was very sick on New Year’s Day (as soon as I got up at 7am) and my regular vet was closed. I contacted Medivet and, from the outset, they were very professional and reassuring. I was given an appointment very quickly and they were extremely efficient, friendly and knowledgeable throughout, keeping me well-informed and upfront about costs. I couldn’t fault them for the way my dog was treated and I felt she was in excellent hands at all times. I was called 3 times the first day she was in and was told to call them anytime for an update. All this, despite the fact that I was told a large number of staff were off sick with covid, the vet I saw had been drafted in from another practice and the ‘receptionist’ herself turned out to be one of the vets! Thank you Medivet for being there for us and for making what would potentially have been a very distressing time much less scary! I would most definitely recommend them and will not hesitate to use them again.

I have been here twice in emergency situations for my puppy. Both times I was welcomed and they took care of my baby very well. Extremely caring and professional. Came for an emergency a bit after midnight after our 17 year old dog was puking for 24 hours. We called ahead and asked what the costs are. They said it’s 130 for the visit and anything on top of that for treatment. It also says that at the pricing list in the place itself. However we were charged an extra 100 GBP for a nurse just looking at the dog. Which was unexpected. They took her for tests without telling us the price in advance or what tests they will do and surprised us with a 200 GBP blood test. We then had to wait for over 40 minutes with no one at the office to ask questions, and our dog away somewhere at the back. We had to go knock on doors to get her back in the waiting room with us. A blood test will obviously show bad stuff for a 17 year old dog and we really don’t think it’s necessary and only thank our luck she is still with us. It is not ok to do such expensive unnecessary tests without telling the owner ahead of time the price or which tests you are doing. We are obviously a captive audience and had no choice but paying as there are barely no vets open at night in this area. The treatment itself was ok and the dog is currently improving slowly. However it is very annoying to be surprised by an extra 200 GBP in the bill you didn’t expect and that are not necessary to improve the dog’s situation as an emergency.

A decent vet but the Covid policy of not letting owners in under any circumstances is outdated and overly severe considering where we are now in the pandemic- ie no longer in lockdown and intermingling. Our pet is extremely nervous of vets and it always happens that he is bought out to us after a struggle petrified as they ask us to muzzle him, he slips away and can’t be muzzled and after a ridiculous struggle he’s medicated in the yard as we pin him down. He’s by this time terrified. It would all be much simpler if he could be accompanied by us ( wearing PPE) and comforted and distracted whilst injected. The policy needs to be updated for the well being of the pets and also limiting commotion which ultimately causes more Covid contact and distress for the animal.

Very helpful and reassuring staff on the phone. We called being concerned about our kitten who was making strange gagging sounds. The nurse on the phone was patient and asked a lot of questions to understand the situation, then spoke to the vet for further advice. Dr Dobson is amazing and left me slightly jealousy of my cat Flower. The vet managed her so well and was attentive explaining every part of the health check and medication given. I left knowledgeable and happy with the care Flower received- Flower was calm with no tantrums it was like magic. And, yes the prices are high but well worth it and not really dissimilar to what one would have to pay without the NHS, as they machines, medications and tools used for our pets are similar to those used to treat humans. I mention this as I know that there are critical reviews here but I work in health and have been with medivet for 10 years accessing services including: surgery, vaccinations, health checks and burial for 3 pets, Flower being the eldest. Yes, I have been emotive, I have questioned their prices but seeing my pretty moody senior cat transform in their hands yesterday shows that she puts her trust in medivet to care and make her better in the same way we would when we’ve gone through our own health journeys with our own doctors. I think it’s also important to remind pet owners to have insurance. It’s ludicrous to know that people would rather insure their mobiles than their pets.

Super friendly, patient and cordial doctors - who took care of our Cleo and her eye infection. They understood body language, personality and the behaviour of my dog really well. Lovely to work with them. However, even through they’re 24 hour and one relies on that for emergency situations - no one ever answers the phone to actually give an appointment - which becomes tricky especially during an emergency. Might as well go elsewhere then.

My visit was an emergency one and was handled very efficiently. The vet and staff were very polite and concerned. My cat was seen immediately on arrival despite the late time of night on a Sunday. The vet talked me through the examination and treatment and I was able to take my cat home straight away and in a few hours he was feeling much better.

We rescued a stray cat and booked an appointment with Medivet Hendon for a check up. The vet Sara was great! Very caring, professional and took her time to explain the process and care the cat is receiving. They took care of the cat giving the needed medication, running blood tests and neutering him. Sara followed up with sending me pictures of him, which made me really happy. She is also helping getting him to a cat shelter that will find foster him until they find his forever home. I really recommend Medivet Hendon, the most important value is to care for the animals and I felt that Sara truly cares.

The staff here are lovely. They saved my cats life. I do feel that they are still really expensive and I feel strongly that weekly payments or arrangements could be made for those just undet the insurance threshold. They are fantastic The staff, reception they are efficient, polite and they care about your animals. I do realise vet costs are not always in the hands of those who run it. In geenral this place is fantastic and of course I would recommend it to any who need emergancy vetenary care.

Throughout Kiki’s admission there was opening communication ensuring we were updated thoroughly. On discharge we were provided with a discharge summary that helps us better understand Kiki’s condition and her TTA medication explained well. We are happy that Kiki got this A-class treatment as she’s on the road to recovery.

Excellent staff and thanks for looking after him so well. Reception, nurses and vets all genuinely care about the animals there. The awards they show off in reception (rightly so!) are all very well deserved. Cruciate ligament surgery so no small procedure. He seems to be doing very well 36 hours on. He gets very anxious and the staff were really good about that. They even helped me get him into the car which was much appreciated as he's a big lad!

There ok to a point. Mistakes can arise when your too busy. But I suppose sometimes it’s difficult with covid around. Also need to stop leaving people in the rain outside. Maybe let 4 or 5 in at any one time. Or at least put a tent or something outside. God only knows you charge the earth. So it’s not as if there’s no money about.

My 9month old puppy has been so poorly that we didn't think she would recover from this awful infection she had. Medivet saved her life. My own vet said they have given her the best possible care. They also let me visit whenever we wanted. We have spent alot of time there over the past week. They couldn't do more than they do. It's the best place in the area. I will definitely take my animals there in the future. The vet and nurses have spoken to me hourly. I wish there was a normal hospital as good as this.

Our cat became very unwell on Sunday, and the local out of hours service had no availability til late evening (plus an extortionate fee!). I found Medivet on google and when I called, they were able to register us on the phone and give us an appointment immediately. My husband took our cat and had him checked and treated within an hour (including the short drive over). It didn't cost us any more than our usual practice would charge on a week day, and the vet called back as promised in the evening to check for progress. They even offered to pass on all treatment records to our local vet. Excellent service :)

Our cat, Zena, was hospitalised for 3 days (and then even readmitted again for another 3 days) with pancreatitis. It was hugely stressful time for her, and ourselves. Especially since she was misdiagnosed by our previous vet, which left her still sick, and incredibly scared! May we, first of all, thank Medivet Hendon for restoring our faith in your profession, as they were the only one who provided emergency home visit, then correctly diagnosed, well treated, and understood our frightened cat. At our previous vets, the appointments always went with vet talking about the prices first, and then asking us to choose the treatment (!!), while at Medivet we’ve experienced a completely different approach, and PRIORITISING the animal above all; Medivet first tells us what is best to do, what should be done, and only after that about money. Also (again, unlike our previous vet), all our phone calls, and all our questions to the staff were promptly and properly answered. It really appears that they - at Medivet- absolutely do care for the animals. With many thanks to Karolina Iskra, Vera Bianchi, Jerry Dunne, Vlad Tipisca, Natalia Parrilla, and of course other staff, whose names we (deeply apologetic for this) - didn’t manage to register out of our distress at Zena’s illness. Excellent on every level. I first brought my Great Dane Kara to the Medivet Hendon practice on a Saturday, months ago. They were very welcoming on the phone and fast to get us an emergency appointment. We had been to a different hospital in the past, where she had been treated efficiently, but not fully diagnosed. She had to be hospitalised for the whole weekend and underwent an extensive number of tests. Within a day, they had a good idea of the diagnosis, which they soon confirmed. A long term plan was made, which aimed at being the least intrusive and most effective (as opposed to suggesting costly procedures aimed at making a profit instead of prioritising her well being, which has unfortunately been the case in the past with other practitioners we visited). Throughout her stay in hospital, the level of care and consideration was impeccable. I could tell that she was treated with kindness and respect, as she looked comfortable the whole time and was happy to see the doctors and nurses during our subsequent visits. Medivet also accept Petplan - not only do they charge their services very reasonably compared to other veterinary practices, but the whole process is seamless when you're insured (we literally paid only the excess and they handled every aspect of the claim). Huge thanks to everyone at this practice - you guys have earned my gratitude, trust and respect.

Few months ago, my cat has been referred for a scan with discount. Then 3pm they call me, to inform me that is a delay, and the scan will be 4PM. At 4pm Dr. Richard call me, saying that is no point to do the scan, because he can see the tumour, and he push me to do a byopsy, for the same amount of money. I wasn't sure if I like to do a biopsy to my cat, but he was quite impatient and rud, telling me, if I like to treat my cat, I should do it. After a week the results came, Trout cancer, saying that they don't have any cure. Since my cat had the biopsy, she get worst. The tumour start to grow and become aggressive. When the biopsy been done, was no explanation, no even choice! So bear in ypur mind and be careful what you will decide! Other then that, the other staff were nice and caring!

Veterinary Superheroes! Amazing 24hour service with caring staff. There is parking outside for at least 6 cars and there is usually a space free. I took our very sick puppy on a referral from our usual vet. I've spent a lot of time visiting here recently and they are always happy to give me an update. Whatever time I called or visited the staff were always kind, helpful and well-informed and they worked really hard to get to the bottom of what was wrong with our little girl. Apart from one of the vets- I can't quite remember his name but he for sure wins the debbie downer award when it comes to prognoses- the rest of the staff are incredibly caring and their love for all the animals there is palpable. HELPED US WITH OUR HAMSTER We arrived to the 24 hour vets at 1am with a very sick hamster, and the staff were fantastic and very helpful. As it was 1am we were not able to find a rodent specialist but the vet at medivet was very insightful and professional. We had just come from a different 24 hour vet closer to our home who were very unprofessional and were unwilling to help us or take us seriously with our sick hamster, and suggested we just 'left it and see what happened'. After this we rang several 24 hour vets (as our hamster was in such a bad state) and medivet hendon was the only vet who thought that they could help with a hamster. it was reassuring for us to be able to go to a vet who performed an inspection and was able to give us help. I dont know if all of their vets would be as good with rodents, but I am very grateful towards the staff who were able to help us at a very stressful time.

I got my dog referred to MediVet Hendon when my dog became unwell and my local vet in Highgate kept her in for ridiculous fees but had no idea what was wrong with her. The RVC was full and I had to call around to friends who were knowledgeable and they all recommended the Medivet Hendon hospital. The staff there were amazing with my dog and by the next morning had gotten to the source of the problem and she was 80% back to her normal self. They kept her in another night just to be safe and I picked her up the next day. The fascinating thing was the bill for one night from the vet in Highgate was £426 (one night) whilst the Medivet bill was just over £700 and they kept her in for 2 nights and got to the root of the problem which was her back. I would always also recommend people get word of mouth recommendations from people as opposed to just web reviews as well. I am going to be using the Medivet Hendon and Muswell Hill for vet checks and emergencies as well as the Beaumont Sainsbury (part of the RVC) which is a top vet as well.

Medivet are brilliant. Not one person has been rude. I go to Richard and he is simply the best. They looked after my Caesar, who was at deaths door with haemolytic anaemia, but he got better and lived for another 5 years. Now I have another 3 dogs with Medivet, I would not go anywhere else.
