Reviews of The London Vet Behaviour Clinic

I was referred to the London Vet behavioural clinic after my dog was showing some behavioural challenges. Ciara was extremely friendly and accommodating right from the start in getting things set up. My initial consultation with Charlie was extremely in-depth and his knowledge and experience were of high quality. It felt like he really took the time to understand my dog, the history and the challenges we had been facing and put together a short-term plan for me to take away and then developed a longer term plan afterwards. Having telephone and text access for quick questions and check-ins throughout has been extremely valuable. Charlie was great and offering lots of different suggestions and approaches to managing the challenges and was able to identify some hidden problems. I would highly recommend their services for anyone facing any source of behavioural problems with that animals, it helped me realise you don’t have to just put up with the struggle is the face with pets but there are often solutions to make life easier!

We had a great experience with Charlie who came to help us with our spaniel who (after a couple of attacks) become fearful of other dogs and rather aggressive towards them. As well as this she was showing aggression to my younger daughter. We thought nothing could be done and we were wrong. Charlie's calm and professional manner was amazing, the dog adored him and he put together an easy programme to follow and was on call the whole time for advice and help. We now have a dog who loves the children again and plays with other dogs - it has made walk times a lot less stressful!

We reached out to Charlie after struggling to resolve issues with our dog through our regular vet. Charlie did a very thorough evaluation and put together a detailed plan for us to follow. As someone who is relatively inexperienced with dogs I appreciated Charlie's communication style, which I found quite accessible despite the methodology and science being quite technical. Happy to say with Charlie's help our little guy is thriving again!

Charlie was a massive help with our rather complex little Dachshund. We were still struggling despite having spoken to other trainers and behaviourists but Charlie made a really thoughtful and thorough assessment which helped enormously with my confidence and my understanding of her. The behaviour plan was clear and detailed and really helped us be consistent. Charlie was very responsive and easy to communicate with and it was really easy to pay through our insurance.

My little rescue dog from Greece was extremely fearful and anxious. After about 9 months of trying anything and everything I could think of, I decided to contact Charlie. Just knowing someone was there for us and understood the situation helped so much. We implemented lots of new techniques and just a few months on and she has improved greatly. I am so thankful for all of the work Charlie put in with me and my little pup! We've made so much progress and I'm so much more at ease with the situation.

I can't recommend Charlie highly enough. His involvement has made a huge difference to our Parson Russell Terrier, Jonty. Without his help we may not have been able to keep Jonty, even though he is a much loved pet, because of the high level of aggression he had started showing. This included aggression towards humans and other dogs and generally very reactive behaviour towards almost anything. After a thorough, Covid-19 regs compliant examination and detailed discussion, Charlie left us with a hand-written plan which enabled us to take action from Day 1. More detailed plans followed. Because of our family circumstances during lockdown, it has to be said that we haven't been able to apply all Charlie's advice as diligently as we might have hoped. In spite of this, a combination of sound advice (with phone and email backup if required) and prescription medication has meant that Jonty is much calmer than he was and he can continue to live with us. In particular his aggression is much reduced and he is safe to be around. The training is a work in progress, which we hope to step up once we return to a more normal family life. Charlie is extremely easy to work with, listens carefully and explains things clearly. Knowing that the initial fee included phone and email backup for 3 months was reassuring and he kept in touch throughout that period to check on progress, whether we contacted him or not. We will have no hesitation in going back to him if needed.

Charlie has been a huge support for us. Having initially contacted him about my Labrador's escalating noise phobia, Charlie identified underlying medical issues that were causing him pain. He then supported us through the resolution of these issues, advocating for Oscar and collaborating with other professionals on Oscar's treatment. His support on the behavioural side was also fantastic. Charlie gave us a clear plan and set of actions to help Oscar and was hugely supportive to my husband and me throughout Oscar's recovery. I would highly recommend Charlie to anyone who needs support with their pet's behaviour.

Honestly Charlie transformed my dog (who funnily enough is also called Charley) - she was a deeply anxious / fear-aggressive rescue who would sleep nowhere bar my bed, and through Charlie's support she now sleeps in her own bed, gets let off the lead sometimes and is generally much happier and more relaxed!

Charlie brought back the joy into my relationship with my English Bull Terrier. He was exhibiting unpredictable aggression and I was at my whits end having been through 2 dog trainers, a dog behaviourist and a vet behaviourist none of whom really helped. It was great to have a holistic treatment plan that diagnosed some underlying medical issues including food allergies/intolerances. My dog is now much happier, less irritable, we haven't seen any aggression at all since we started implementing the treatment plan and he's back to his loving self. I can't recommend the London Vet Behaviour Clinic enough!
