Absolutely love this vets!! Everybody that works there is lovely, kind and take real care to follow up when they say they will and get back to you quickly if you need support. I’ve always been able to get emergency appointments and the reception staff are amazing too. Thanks so much for looking after Puffin and Fernando so well !!

We have used Village Vets in Highbury for our pet dog (Affenpinscher) since she was about 6 or 7 months old as we felt that the previous vets we used were more interested in having as many customers as possible and as many treatments for pets as they could recommend… and we are so glad we did! The whole team at Village Vets Highbury are so much more attentive and focused on what our dog needs rather than what they can sell. Whether it is communicating with them in person, by phone or over email they are fantastic and make every effort to ensure our experience is as good as possible. We have had our dog spayed at their surgery and they also corrected a herniated umbilical cord at the same time and our dog was so well looked after and especially we felt looked after in the post op care and final check up. What could’ve been a super stressful experience was made so much easier by them. More recently they have helped us to connect with a fantastic behaviouralist to help us with some fear responses our dog has been having. Overall, would fully recommend to any pet owners who want to feel like their pet is in the best possible hands and the best possible care available.

These are the most wonderful vets! Our dog has been going to them for about 4 years. Recently she had a weird injury in the park and was very distressed. The receptionist was able to get us an immediate appointment and Jake called to check up in the following days to make sure she was getting better. Our dog has made a good recovery and I felt so reassured to be in safe hands so well looked after. Very grateful for everyone at Village Vet!

We went to Highbury Village Vet for about 3 years after transferring from another local Islington vet we were not very happy with. We LOVED Highbury Village Vet! Receptionist were kind and knowledgeable - didn't make you feel like a hassle. And the vets were very attentive, patient, and helpful. Always felt like our dog was in good hands. Wonderful customer service. Made me feel very welcome seen as only a couple of weeks before I had to put my cat to sleep due to being very ill at another vets unexpectedly. Just had a dental cleaning for my senior pom at the practice as they had the x-ray facilities she needed for before the proceudre. Chris was very caring and was very nice about answering all my crazy dog mom questions. It's clear that they are all super diligent and care about detail. Excellent experience dealing with our 2 adopted kittens who have CH, a neurological condition. It was a great comfort that Dr Chris was knowledgeable about the condition when we registered. One of the kittens sadly developed a serious cerebral infection and had to be euthanized, but the whole painful experience was dealt with with great sensitivity towards ourselves and the kitten. It is an absolutely warm and friendly team who make it easy to entrust your fur baby to.

Incredible vet practice. So friendly, reassuring and non-judgemental of the questions and situations that arise for a first time dog owner. I've had to ring a few times for advice and they've always been so helpful. My pup actually gets excited when he sees where we're going.

Absolutely lovely vets. Village vets was recommended to me by my boyfriend as I recently moved to the area. I had a concern with Trixie because I found a lump on her leg. On the same day they gave me the diagnosis and there was nothing to worry about. Although Trix doesn't like the vets, she was well looked after and left happy. The vet was complimenting me on how lovely Trix was and she really took care of her. Village vets adore each animal that come through their doors.

I've been here a few times with both my dogs and it has always been a lovely experience. I have been to a few other vets and this is by far the best in North London. The staff (receptionists and vets) are always so friendly and genuinely care about your pets. Vet for life and just down the road. I've always received fantastic service from the Village Vet surgeries and I know that, thanks to their excellent knowledge and quick reaction, one of our cats is still alive today after she caught a nasty bug and needed to be hospitalised. Chris at Highbury Village Vet is very gentle, caring and approachable. Also the staff at reception are friendly and always accommodating with appointments to fit our busy schedule. Lovely and calm surgery which makes the visit ever so slightly less dramatic ;)

The level of care my dog receives is excellent and despite us moving away from the area I've kept him registered with Village Vet Highbury. The staff are so approachable, understanding and kind it makes the whole experience, whether it's a check up or something more, so much easier. Favorite neighborhood vet! Visited with my little dog mid-week & on a weekend, & she was well taken care of by both vets. Didn't feel rushed & the vets both took their time to answer our questions for our furry little girl. Only small gripe is the cost (~£50 per consultation - before any of the meds), but I guess that's common for London.

The staff, and the Vet Chris, have been excellent; friendly, professional, knowledgable, putting a puppy at ease. I also like the fact its a small surgery, not too hectic when we visit, and we see the same faces who know & remember us and our dog. Couldn't recommend this practice more highly.

My cat was very ill, stopped eating and drinking and she had to be on a drip to ensure she gets enough liquids. The staff at Village Vet Animal Hospital were fantastic. From the reception staff to the vets everyone clearly cared deeply about their patients (and their humans). I got regular updates on her condition and could go visit her any time (with pre-arrangement). The facilities are very clean, but the wards are not clinical feeling and she could have her (my?) favourite sweater with her. After 5 days in hospital and 3 more weeks of taking her antibiotics at home, my little girl are now back to her happy energentic self and I can't thank the staff at Village Vet enough for all their care and attention.

Love these vets, and Chris in particular. They could become better versed in rescues/behaviour, but that goes for all vets... they care, give good advice, and we’ve grown to rely on them. And they stuck with me and my Romanian rescue, Fergus, through a very difficult first year. I wouldn’t change them for the world.

I cannot rate these highly enough. Chris, Becky and all the team are caring and responsive in any emergency. I would never take my animals anywhere else having used other vets and bad experiences. Quick thinking vet saved my cat Bully when he was literally at deaths door and not alot of hope that he would survive. He did and survived another 2 years for which I was truly grateful. My dog runs in and not the other way out of the door which is wonderful.

I took my Puppy for his second vaccination and micro chip last night and I could not recommend The Village Vet Highbury more. Steven the vet was fantastic, so friendly and amazing with Franklin my Frenchie. I have signed up for the Puppy Club which is great value. Steven on Reception was really helpful and knowledgeable as well. I popped in the week before, to just make Franklin familiar with the vets and to also add the microchip to his appointment and Steven made the effort to meet Franklin and ask all about him. Great customer service.

Delighted to follow Chris from Belsize Park practice to Highbury. He is without doubt the kindest, gentlest, most knowledgeable vet we've ever come across. He helped us nurse our old cat, Phoebe, through years of illness giving her a happy and full life. We are so pleased he is now in charge of our new additions, Rory & Ruby. We cannot stress enough what a pleasure it is to know such a reliable, caring vet. This practice is head and shoulders above all others in the area and is highly recommended.

One of the best vet practices in London! They have provided our tiny chihuahua with excellent routine care and even went above and beyond to help us, when he had a serious emergency issue recently. Why don't you put the price on the pet food OR on the shelf in front of it so I don't have to ask how much everything is - the lady has to look it up on the computer which takes a few minutes...too long & slow just to get some pet food. I'm only giving it 3 stars because I didn't use the actual vet. My review has nothing to do with the vet himself which I see has got lots of 5 stars.

Having tried a few vets in the area I never felt totally satisfied with the advice I was given or treatments prescribed. The vets here seem extremely knowledgable and honest/open minded to alternative treatments and there is a sense of genuine concern for my pet's wellbeing as oppose to prescribing medication symptomatically. I would highly recommend Village Vets for anyone in the surrounding area

Vet Chris Maguire is not only an incredibly highly qualified, knowledgeable vet, he is also hugely empathetic with every animal - and their often worried owners. I have followed him around 3 vets practices as he rose in seniority over the years. Highbury is a longer journey for me - but, when you find an amazing vet, you stick with them. Nurse Becky and receptionist Georgie have the same calm, welcoming manner which really reassures and settles both those with four legs, and their often just as anxious two-legged companions. Village Vet Highbury has the comforting, personally welcome feel of a real 'Village' vet, but with the best of what high technology modern veterinary equipment offers And more than one year on from posting my initial review, my gratitude towards Chris and his team continues. Chris has advised me against costly treatment which would not have given significant benefits to a beloved, terminally ill cat, and is also adept at realising when things need more investigation than might be assumed necessary. You only have to sit in the waiting room and see all animals (and their often worried owners) are greeted by Chris, Becky and Georgie, to see this is a good place. Your animals will be respectfully treated as the precious and unique individuals that they are. And so will you.

I wouldn't trust my cat's care with any vet other than Chris - this is the 3rd practice I've followed him to in North London and for the past 10 years he's always been most empathetic, knowledgeable and caring vet who puts each animal and owner at ease. We chose Village Vet because of it's good reviews and proximity to where we live. Our English Bulldog puppy had developed Cherry Eye, and after a quick health check, Chris was able to refer us immediately to get him checked out by a specialist. Will be going back again!

This place is just so nice and efficient. Took my dog for the first time with stomach issues and they saw him straight away, we had to leave him overnight but the following day he is all bouncy and they don't give them medicine if the pet doesn't need it strictly so that is a plus too!
