I cannot recommend this place enough. They go above and beyond any other veterinary practice I have ever come across. Sheldon is phenomenal, his love for animals and knowledge is incredible. He looks after my two fur babies like their his own. He performed long extensive dental work on my chihuahua, Bono who needed 19 teeth removed and is currently taking care of my Maltese/Westie Daisy who is undergoing 5 rounds of chemotherapy. Nothing is too much to ask at this practice and every single person who works here is so caring and lovely. It is very rare that you feel relaxed taking your pet to the vet but I can honestly say I do here. It’s so nice to have found a practice that actually cares deeply about animals.

Excellent, caring service with a very sensitive approach toward budget. Our beloved, and uninsured, cat Albert had persistent, mysterious health issues throughout the last few months of 2018. Sheldon provided incredibly thorough care, whilst always being mindful to do diagnostic examinations in stages to be respectful of our budget - never doing unnecessary examinations until all other options had been eliminated. Albert received top notch medical care the whole way and is now in full health again. Many thanks to the team at Village Vet Highgate for constantly going above and beyond to deliver the best care. My original review in early 2018: Had to take our cat Albert in for a haircut and some dental work. The vets were lovely and did a fantastic job - he's a new man since having 3 rotten teeth removed, a much happier chap. The whole process was handled fantastically at Village Vet Highgate, with us being kept constantly updated by phone on Albert's progress. He's had a few complimentary check-ups since the procedure to ensure all is healing well, and because he had dental work he now receives complimentary 6 month dental checks for the rest of his life. Great experience all round. Thanks!

I can not speak highly enough of this veterinary practice.It's team of Vets and nurses are utterly dedicated and their love of animals is palpable. In particular Sheldon has looked after my cats for over 10 years. His knowledge and quick diagnoses are so reassuring. Sometimes you would think my beloved pets where his, his care second to none. I could give many examples of how wonderful he has been, one in particular was when our gorgeous Milo was at the end of his life due to kidney failure. Sheldon ensured that Milo passed in the arms of my son in our home quietly and not in pain. Priceless.

I would really recommend Village Vet Highgate. In my experience seem genuinely committed to the health and well-being of our dog - the vets are experienced, friendly, caring and always take time to explain in detail what they are doing. The practice is friendly and reliable, open long hours which is great, and you can always get seen at short notice. They keep us up to date with all vaccinations and checks - I find the texted reminders especially helpful. They are not the cheapest but in my view it’s very good value for money.

I've been bringing this little guy here since he was 8 weeks old. He's been showered with love, cuddles and good sound advice. Sheldon, Rebecca, Alison and the team have all been incredibly helpful, and were superstars when Elio broke his leg at only 13 weeks, a very traumatising and upsetting experience. Sheldon saw him within 10 minutes of the fracture, got him on pain relief immediately, and transferred to the RVC for surgery within an hour. So grateful to the Village Vet Highgate for such a prompt, professional response and for your ongoing care of little Elio

Village Vet is absolutely excellent. Really can’t speak highly enough of the care they have provided for our two cats, who have had plenty of visits since they were kittens 12 years ago. The whole practice is excellent. Sheldon has quite a few cats himself and can always relate to whatever issue you are going through with your pet. He is reassuring and clear about diagnosis, and prognosis. In the last few weeks one of our cats (Tango) wasn’t his usual self, and Sheldon quickly diagnosed a dental problem, and the subsequent operation and treatment has gone really well - Tango is now back to his usual self (though maybe slightly less fierce with his canines removed!). The practice has also done an extremely professional job of handling things during the pandemic. They have shown great care for the animals and owners alike, no easy task for a busy vets practice, but they have handled it in a friendly and organised way. Their follow ups and check ins to make sure everything is going well just underline their desire to do the best job possible. Would highly recommend them to anyone. Jen & Bill

We have been visiting Village Vet for 10 years. We chose them because they open longer hours and coincidently fell upon a gem! Our first visit was with a sick cat who was cared for expertly and with compassion and this has been our on-going experience. Most recently one of our beloved tabby cats developed a tumour on his front leg. Sheldon and the team nurtured us through the difficult decision process and he had the leg amputated 5 weeks ago. Here he is with his brother demonstrating what a good decision it was. Amazing feline care from Sheldon for my Bengal Bond, he's had a delicate stomach and we were having hour long issues on a daily basis that I won't go into detail about. This was really upsetting and confusing for Bond and he was off his food and not his normal self at all a very subdued little chap. However Sheldon took the time to listen to the precise nature of what was happening and then offered some dietary advice to try and help with the balance of bacteria in his stomach. The food he recommended has made a difference from day one which is brilliant for us both and I now have my crazy Bengal back in full effect.

We are really pleased with the care we've received from the vets, they've been really reassuring and easy to talk to and we really trust them with our dog. Village Vet in Highgate is superb. Sheldon and all the vets and staff at Village Vets are so knowledgeable and have always shown real care and concern for our pets. I have always had 100% confidence that our beloved Sugar and Daisy have the best and most up to date treatment when they need it. When our cat, Daisy, fell ill whilst we were abroad, Sheldon was amazing. He went well beyond what he needed to do to try to help her. Unfortunately she was too ill to save but I knew she was in the best hands until the very end and the level of advice and compassion offered to us was so comforting. I am relatively new to the practice, and have seen two respect worthy vets Sheldon and Sam who have taken over a complicated condition that one of my lurchers receives treatment for. The interface between the specialist who was responsible for diagnosis and Village Vets who have taken on the on going treatment, has been impressive. Considerable thought has gone into the treatment of our dog from the practice, and collaboratively, we are trying a new route for medication, which has the potential of offering significant improvements. I have found the staff understanding of my wish for a nervous dog to spend as little time in the practice as necessary, and adaptable to that end. Appointments seem to run pretty much to time, and have not involved lengthy waits in crowded waiting rooms. The nursing staff have been very kindly and understanding. So yes I can recommend this practice with a whole heart.

This is our favourite vet Sheldon in this photo. The love and care they have always given our animals over the years has been exemplary. We never go anywhere else and I know people say they are very expensive but I would always disagree with that. One of our cats did not have any insurance as we cancelled it because he was never sick. Then he was hit by a car we took him straight to Sheldon explained the situation to him and he did all the basic checks that Oz needed plus some surgery £1200 we were charged a bargain in my opinion. They will always listen to you as the owner and work with you to do what is right for your (babies) pets.

Village Vets are superb. We've been using them for six months after going in for a one off appointment. They are now my first port of call. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Sheldon is extremely knowledgable, particularly around new research/medications. After years of ear infections, my dog's ears are now clear thanks to Sheldon's intervention. Other vets had never been able to get on top of it. He's also changed her heart medication and it's like I have a new dog. I cannot thank Village Vets enough. Great service and reasonable prices - they are mindful of budget which is appreciated. They also have a 24hr branch nearby which I used on an emergency basis and found to be extremely good.

We have a 7 year old Jack Russell who has had a skin condition for a number of years. We have been treating her with medication for 3 years and with constant vet visits. During the Covid lockdown her skin flared up, became infected and very itchy. After a video conference call with Sheldon a plan of treatment was in place and now a few weeks later her hair has grown back but more importantly she is a happy itch free dog again. We have seen numerous vets over the years but we have never achieved any lasting control over her condition. A huge thumbs up from my family! We would be delighted to recommend Village Vet in Highgate as we were impressed with the service and knowledge experienced via a video conference which must of been difficult compared with a personnel one to one treatment.

I lost my little girl, Pepper, yesterday. I don't think I'll ever be able to get over her. I feel so empty now. I know I let her down in some ways but I always loved her so much. I wish I could change how things went. I wish I had ten more years with her. This is so hard. It's the worst pain I've ever felt. Pepper has my heart with her right now and I don't want anyone else to ever have it. She'll always be my little girl and I'll always be her big girl. I'm so glad that I took my little girl to Village Vet Highgate. They were so good with Pepper even though she hated to go to the vet. Everyone there was so understanding and compassionate. They took great care of our cat Margo, a rescue from Beirut, and helped us through an incredibly tough time with her and her terminal heart disease. Expert support for your pets. We've been with Village Vet since 2011 when we were adopted by an RSPCA cat called Willow. VV are great. They're enthusiastic about animals and they give great advice. This latest occasion we brought in a feral male cat who has been living on the edge of Highgate Cemetery. Sheldon, Sam, Robin and the rest of the team did a full diagnosis and carried out the neutering, microchip implant, dental work and took samples for various tests, all in one day. Kiwi came home the same day and he's strong as ever. The clinic has a great community feel to it, the reception staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and it's always good to chat with other customers about their experiences with their beloved pets.

We have had nothing but good experiences since we have been with the Village Vet which has been about 6 years now. The whole team are lovely, responsive, caring and kind - with us and more importantly our pet tabby cat Roary. Recently we had a distressing situation with a suspicious lump in Roary's foot which turned out to be cancerous and we had to make the decision to amputate his leg. We were very shocked but wonderful vet Sheldon talked us through the options (there weren't many) and helped us come to terms with the decision to amputate explaining that cats can do really fine on 3 legs. Sheldon made time to do the operation without delay the next day. It was traumatic for everyone, but the happy ending is that Roary has recovered so incredibly well that here, only two weeks later he's back on his (3) feet again and seems bursting with health and in good spirits. I have no doubt this is down to the expertise and professionalism of Sheldon who clearly cares deeply for the animals and the kindness of the team as a whole - Kirsten, Karen, Kimberley and others who's name I don't know. I can't recommend this Vet practice highly enough.

The team at Village Vet Highgate are absolutely incredible and I could not recommend this Veterinary Practice more. I visited with my 4 year old Shih-pu Maude, who had a fairly aggressive cancerous lump in her mamory glands. Sheldon, Sam and the team went above and beyond to make sure she received the best care possible and took the time to help us understand every step of her treatment. The whole team treated Maude like she was their own little one and made us feel completely comfortable and reassured at all times. The treatment itself was impeccable - it was a major & technical operation as they found other lumps in the testing process. Maude received the best aftercare, with the team checking in with us regularly with genuine care and concern. She made a complete recovery, back to her lovely (yappy) little self. A massive thanks to all the team, would not consider going anywhere else.

We love Village Vet Highgate. Our pets (2 cats and a dog) are cared for by Sheldon who is brilliant with them. The front of house staff are always so attentive and know our pets well. The veterinary nurses put you and the animals at ease and their obvious love for their job comes out in the way our pets react to them. I would not go anywhere else for the care of our animal family. An update to our review... Thank you to the whole team at VV HIghgate for the wonderful card and forget-me-not seeds you sent us when Chili died earlier this month. We were very distraught when recently our beloved dog Chili became extremely ill, very quickly. Sheldon and Simon(vet at VV Hampstead) tried their very best to help her and sort out her ailments. Unfortunately she was not a spritely young thing (she was coming up to 12) and just could not fight off the issues. Sheldon is such a wonderful vet and compassionate person. He looked after not only Chili but our emotions as well. He was so very kind in the way he broached the subject of easing her pain permanently and explained the process in such a way that made it less stressful for us, Chili's family. Her passing was very serene and painless. Sheldon and Sofia (veterinary nurse) came to our house and were so caring, making sure that we all had time to say goodbye to Chili properly. I would not go ANYWHERE else to get care for our pets even if I had to travel miles to get there. THANK YOU!
