The staff are always helpful and compassionate. Their care of my dogs is always top quality. Kath was fantastic with Crystal following an accident at the groomers. Won't go anywhere else.

Great service all round.......Saw Cath this time around, her and Paul are easy going. Not many vets around these days that are willing to spend time talking about your pets needs, previously with another family dog, Paul explained different procedures with regards to Cushions Disease and what can be done, I know for a fact vets and big companies care about money and not the animal/s. I've worked overseas with stray dogs, although I'm no vet etc, I can judge what I want especially regarding my animals treatment wise, I don't cut corners, I won't be taken for a ride either, that being said, Paul understands me, and is open to suggestions, hence being with the practice a near 7 years, and I for one, don't trust many veterinary clinics with my animals! Again, thank you Paul. Cath and staff at the Cardiff Road, Newport Gwent. Make sure they know about this feedback, as surveys never get back to the roots! Regards Simon Henson

So I had to unexpectedly put one of my lovely elderly dogs to sleep last Mon and as you can imagine, I was a total mess. The vet that I seen was Jodie and she was amazing considering the circumstances. She kept me some hair and paw prints which at the time, didnt even occur to me due to what I was having to do. This morning a card came which was also unexpected. I just want to say sorry for the mess I was in and thank you for the understanding, patience and these gestures. 16 yrs that little dog has been in my life and you made the hardest, kindest, final thing I could do for him a little more bareable so thank you for that.

Just wanted to say the staff at Vets4Pets Newport went above and beyond for my family when our beloved pet, Ozzy was sick. They rearranged their busy schedule to allow time for all the family to arrive to give us time to say our goodbyes and remain with him as he passed away. We never felt in the way even though there were 7 of us there and they were kindness personified. Their card and forget me not seeds that followed was personalised and spoke of the level of care they show to their patients and owners.

We recently had to have our beloved cat to sleep due to various internal problems. We were offered to hold her while she passed over so she wasnt alone. The vets and nurses are always very friendly, the receptions are sometimes helpful but not always. With COVID we have to now wait outside or in the car to be called. This is fine but the vets are ALWAYS running behind and when I have my cat in the carrier he gets distressed having to wait, it also worries me having to hand him over to the nurse outside as if he were to somehow get out of the carrier he is on the main road.

It was Bella's first visit to the vet. She is a rescue dog and as I don't know her history I was a bit unsure about how she would react. There was no need, Bella was treated like the Princess she is and thoroughly enjoyed her visit and the fuss she had made of her. I've got no worries about taking her back for her follow up in 4 weeks as she was treated so well

Staff are always friendly and welcoming. It was easy to get an appointment for my dog the same day due to a nasty ear infection. Current covid 19 procedures were explained and staff kept us up to date on waits even though we were waiting outside the surgery. Dug was made to feel calm as he was concerned about going inside with the vet and given lots of fuss to make his experience an enjoyful one. Staff are always excellent with explaining treatments and what options we have.

Suggs was involved in an attack I rang the surgery and was offered and appointment within 2 hours of my call. The staff very extremely polite and knowledgeable. Everything was explained to me in terms I could understand. On returning a few hours later for discharge everything again was explained, the procedure, the medication and treatment plan. I'm so glad we changed vets 5 years ago to vets4pets. I feel so comforted knowing Suggs will be well cared for if and when we visit again. Thankyou to all at Newport!

Said they aren't taking on - not even a transfer (fair enough), tried to get me to ring the Cardiff one which is miles away from where I live (Newport the closest), and slammed the phone on me before I could say goodbye.

I have taken my dog piper to see Mr McCarthy and his team for about 15 years in all that time I have never felt that they have not given piper the best treatment that they could. I have seen some bad reviews concerning Mr McCarthy and no he isn’t a let’s have a laugh and joke sort of chap but he does what any good vet does listens to you then gives you options on how to go forward. Are they cheap? No I don’t think so but are any vets? Pets are costly and lets face it we have national health for ourselves in effect you are paying for private healthcare for your pet! How costly would it be if you paid privately for yourself? I am not saying they are never going to make bad judgements or mistakes but in my opinion they do their best for you and your pet. Sadly piper died in March this year but she was nearly 17 and as you can imagine a lot of visits went into helping her reach that age whilst retaining a good quality of life. We would not have had that time without the care and attention of Mr McCarthy and his team.

Have 2 dogs under the teams care. Ones got a brain /cognitive/possible head trauma and the team handle her with such love and respect. The other has just had major surgery and post op complications which again was handled with care and sympathy, even when it took 5 to pin him down!! We (including Norman the nub) can't thank them enough never switching vets again cannot fault these wonderful people.
