Reviews of Nottingham PDSA Pet Wellbeing Centre, The Marian and Christina Ionescu Hospital

Layout is great, reception separates dogs from cats etc and is very spacious. Trainee staff that had seen us were brilliant and very informative. Checked everything that they possibly could, was very reassuring and polite. Reception staff are lovely and helpful. Couldn’t recommend more.
D. C.
Great new building with ample parking and easy access. Seen in good time and separate seating for cat and dog owners. Seating also available outside under a canopy to keep you dry while you wait. Vet was polite and did a full health check on my dog and 2 appointments were made for treatment the same week.

PDSA. In lenton save my little life after a big operation could not thank enough for there help. Very nice people.
S. L.
Excellent service from everyone involved, quick and patient as my dog was in serious discomfort.
Expensive as you would expect for an out of hours service, but the staff went above and beyond and the problem resolved relatively quick.
Thank you!

We brought Tom in his carry cadge, costing alot of money, we said we need it bk for other pets, called 5 times, but nothing, very very disappointed, because we now not only lost our cat bit his carry cage we had ffor 20 years no where to be found, and no one really cares about it anyway, very very upsetiing on top of everything, we just want and need the carryer returned, been 2 mth now, i guess they just forot about us, very very disappointed

Can't fault them! Saved my pets life with an emergency appointment. Went out of their way for us and everyone was polite and lovely. Can't thank them enough

An amazing service for people on a low income. I couldn't have afforded a vet visit if it wasn't for Nottingham PDSA Pet Hospital. My big fur baby is so much better. Very friendly, great vet. So, kind and caring that my baby happily went off with him to be weighed and he usually won't go anywhere without a member of the family. It is also a wonderful help that they sell pet food at amazing prices. They really saved the day. Thank you, I really appreciate your amazing work. ❤️
K. S.
They care for pets look after my dog well get back to you when they say they keeping my dog pain free
L. C.
Not an efficient service. Long waits and staff are often hiding in the back or sitting around NOT on the phone. Volunteers I hope that’s Al the only way it would be acceptable
E. P.
Amazing place for people who struggle to afford normal vets, Great staff and friendly team. Got seen quickly and my boy got some medication he should be better soon. I aslo gave a donation.
M. S.
They went above and beyond for my beautiful girl zara she sadly crossed the rainbow bridge on the 4/8/22 I'm heartbroken
s. c.
Had to have my ancient cat euthanized here, so it was a sad day, but the staff did their utmost to make easy ( as it could be in the circumstances), and gave me time and space to mourn in an empty room for as long as I needed it
E. W.
My dog was spayed at PDSA nottingham back in May I dropped her off in the morning and was phoned a few hours later for a time to collect her the whole procedure was done very swiftly she had a lovely neat stitches, all staff was lovely and reassuring when I handed her over, thankyou PDSA
A. J.
I was given an appointment time to suit me as I have to drive a long way to get there. However I made a mistake over the appointment time and was late. They took in to account my explanation and allowed me to still see the vet with my little dog who has been troubled for a long time with an allergy and unsuccessfully treated by another vet who is not in the PDSA. This time I can find no fault with them. They were pleasant and friendly and I will be returning to see them again with my little dog who is much happier now since she's been on the right treatment administered by them.
G. R.
I can honestly say that the vets, receptionists and vca’s are the most caring and compassionate people you could ever wish for, keep doing what you’re doing you’re all amazing!!!
J. H.
This amazing organization is at absolute Godsend. Not only skilled professionals but they truly care about each and every one of their patients. During these rather troublesome times, they never waved in their care. I received the medication my special girl needed through the post. Any concerns vet would call you back promptly after leaving them a message. This week I had to say goodbye to the light in my life. The vet she saw actually called in another vet to just confirm the inevitable. Their kindness and compassion was second to none. Even though it was the most devastating time for me, I still say Kudos P.D.S.A. My thanks to you from both myself and Misty.
A. A.
I had to take my dog and cat, super staff, very caring and kind.
K. H.
Daughter took her cat, medication was reasonably priced. Cat well looked after and lovely caring staff
M. S.
Such a joy. Things have been tough lately both financially as well as health wise and I was constantly worried that I had let my dog Chip down. He suffers from severe allergies and I tried to do my best for him at home. Jo the vet was extremely helpful and understanding. The staff were uniformally excellent and kind. I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you to you all.
T. B.
Brilliant service, such a lovely caring team and was very understanding. Was almost 10mins late (in rush hour) and they still saw my very poorly dog. Couldn't thank them enough and honestly they couldn't have done anything better
J. W.
Sadly my reasons for going to Nottingham PDSA Pet Hospital were not happy ones....but the kindness and care we received from the staff and vets was superb.
A. M.
Our pets are always appreciated and well looked after by all staff
L. G.

A. B.
This place works miracles with pets of those who couldn't otherwise afford one. They are a charity, so please give what and whenever you can.
D. B.
They give my baby a thorough check up . unfortunately I lost her in may this year at aged 13 I would like to say thank you to the lovely person on the phone who helped me during that sad time
D. L.
Wonderful place, and so caring and understanding. Looked after my fur baby, as well as supporting myself and daughter.
S. B.
These guys have been absolutely brilliant. Took my cat in over a really busy Christmas period with no issue whatsoever. He had to go back a week later where he was x-rayed and given pain relief and antibiotics. Vets were very friendly and professional and always happy to help with their advice. They showed great care and sympathy towards 'Ginger'. Can't fault them at all!
c. p.
Would like to thank you for seeing Hugo. Free or discounted im thankful and donations will be on your way asap
D. A.
Will be better when they get the new building. I hope they have a sectioned area for cats as the dogs can be frightening in same waiting area.
A. W.
Came here when I found my pet insurance didn't cover the illness my lovely dog had.
Was made to feel comfortable and treated nickie with total love and care. Thankyou so much for the work you do. You are all amazing 👏 ❤️
K. H.

g. g.
We took our family dog in as an emergency today and the staff were fantastic. We've had to say goodbye and they arranged for all of us to spend some time with her privately, they were very kind
G. R.
Pdsa are friendly and very good when we had to go there. Wouldn't go anywhere else
r. c.
I took my old girl yesterday knowing she was really Ill, I turned up without phoning 1st, I know this is something I shouldn’t have done but when staff saw her they got her in straight away, I knew she wasn’t coming home with me, the vet was amazing and compassionate, the reception staff so caring, I just want to thank them for the wonderful service at such an upsetting time. Xxx
I. H.
Very good in helping pets for people on low income
S. T.
We can't begin to thank everyone who looked after our most darling Kevin the cat in the early hours of the 12th of December. He was incredibly poorly and we know they did everything they could but we lost him to his terrible illness. He was treated with such kindness and care , we know he didn't suffer. We were allowed to be with him as he passed away and given privacy and time to say our extremely reluctant goodbyes. The staff that work at the PDSA Nottingham are angels and we are in total awe of the professionalism and compassion.
K. F.
First time here with my beloved Tink. Wonderful from start to finish.
J. L.
Got my dog better after being attacked.
Caring and professional staff
L. R.
Very happy with consultation and treatment however I was less than impressed with the treatment I received from the reception staff and the dispensary lady. It became apparent that I was being judged based on the fact that I currently claim universal credit. And possibly my appearance. The ladies were less than engaging once I said that I was unable to donate. The reason I was unable to donate is because I have lost my employment in the last few months due to severe mental health issues and potential
That I might harm myself so I had to leave employment and claim benefits I do not need to be judged by complete strangers when I am bringing my pet for treatment. It has become apparent that people claiming universal credit are judged based on zero information other than what the person thinks could be happening and that is very dangerous for somebody like me I felt very uncomfortable in the practice and the lady at the dispensary couldn’t been less than helpful she would not engage with me she would not speak to me and she failed to give me the collar i needed. I think further training could be needed for all three of those ladies in your practice because the way that I left that practice left me feeling very uneasy and very judged now I don’t know as I say whether it was because of how I dress differently or is the fact that I’m currently claiming universal credit but I would like you to be aware that not everybody claiming benefits chooses to do so as a career thank you. I fully intend to donate when I have the funds to do so I have as I have done many times in the past.
A. J.
Absolutely fantastic care given. Highly recommended to all to look after your furry friends! Lovely receptionists and vets/nurses 10/10 service everytime
I. J.
Professional and very helpful also a good aftercare service.
R. C.
The team have been there for us (well my girl Clio and myself) through very difficult times. The way that the interior has recently been set up re: easing of restrictions is admirable. Just please wear a mask. At the time my visit I only saw 2 people out of many wearing one, even though there were notices on the windows on the way in. Just a big thank you all and hope all goes well at the new site.
K. G.
Going to the vets is never a nice experience of course but PDSA Nottingham make it as comfortable as possible for both the owner and the animal.
My dog was sadly hit by a car and I took him straight to PDSA on a Saturday evening and they saw to him straight away. Within 20 minutes they had called us (COVID meant we had to wait in the car park in our car) and let us know what they were going to do. They covered everything to make sure he wasn't internally damaged such as X-rays and scans. They got him cleaned up and stitched up and he was ready to come home with us 2 hours after dropping him off.
I cannot give them enough credit for how they put both myself and my dog at ease during this traumatic experience.
Thanks to all the staff - you do a great job.
s. g.
They were very professional and looked after my cat with love and affection.. Thank-you all, my cat has fully recovered

M. F.
Didn't love this place this week as we had to have our dog put to sleep and it's broken our hearts, bite nite Keiko, rest in peace beautiful, miss you so much it's breaking my heart xx
This place usually is great and they would do anything to help save an animal and it's still a charity, which is so wrong
I. T.
Great place with friendly staff. Your pet will be in safe hands 🙏❤
a. a.
Extremely friendly and very professional. They really do care about your pets and want to help in every possible way.
K. D.

The staff and the service you receive at the PDSA is always 1st rate there give your pet a good examination and are always interested in your pets welfare.
a. s.
Well my experience with Nottingham PDSA was that the kindness and professionalism of the staff and vets, I don't know the name of the Scottish lady vet and her assistant but on Thursday 30/9/21 they put my bichon Lola to sleep. They were extremely helpful to me at this awful time, saying her so I could hold her. Thank you both.
C. R.
Honestly what would we do without our local pdsa veterinary in Nottingham there just fantastic with such great care and such lovely polite friendly staff. Kind regards Ms Cynthia Ross and my little boy Clyde.
R. W.
Can I first say that the PDSA is a wonderful charity & I'm grateful to them but the staff could do with smiling a bit more.
a. W.
Excellent lady vet very friendly and helpful updated Jesse my brothers cat please please donate as much as you can if you need their help they are the amazing heros who quietly get on with looking after our pets during these hard times thank you once again
C. O.
Really excellent service helped my dog loads and went out there way to help 5 star service thank you PDSA xc
K. P.
Absolutely excellent. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and relaxed. When I went in with my poorly puppy, I was obviously distraught and panicking. The staff were available and on hand to relax me and take care of my pup. He had an overnight stay with them and I was told that I could call any time for an update which I did. The vet at night took the time to sit with him and fuss him and make friends with a very frightened one year old puppy who was not in a friendly mood so would nip and bark. I was given a detailed update over the phone at silly o'clock in the morning when I rang, and the staff were more than happy to chat about how he was doing and what would be done the following day. The day staff are equally as caring. They handled my panic with grace and professionalism. They are kind, patient, knowledgeable and experienced. I would honestly say that the PDSA helped both me and my puppy through an emergency. I haven't even mentioned that there is no formal price list for the PDSA. They work on a 'pay what you can afford' basis. If it wasn't for these wonderful people, my puppy and I would have had 3 choices; see him suffer and possibly die; end up in huge amounts of debt; give him up to a shelter. My entire reason for going was that I had run out of money with a different vet and couldn't afford any further private treatment for a mystery illness that was killing him.
b. c.
They looked after my Yorkshire terrier with great care and compassion . Great team . Thank you so much 🙂
K. T.
Lovely place very friendly staff
D. B.
Despite the Covid19 situation these have seen to one of my clients cats.
Always friendly and kind and have a brilliant system going on to make sure things run smoothly.
Am super impressed and kind of sorry I can't use them myself!
Well Done PDSA. I value your service.
T. O.

D. M.
Very good service friendly staff
J. B.
Thanks for looking after me and my wife very understanding very caring thanks ❤️
T. S.
Lovely and very helpful staff and very kind
G. (.
Brilliant care, we use the PDSA hospital as our out of hours emergency vets and sadly we have had to go with our pup a couple of times.
The staff are wonderful and although our dog is quite timid they get her out of her shell!
Although not something anyone wants to need they're amazing.
D. S.
The service once we'd managed to get hold of them was brilliant (would have been 5 star but initial communication was hard). My wife's rabbit had an ulcerated eye and needed removing, we were warned of the dangers of the op and they kept us updated as things happened. Cut to the chase, they saved the rabbits life and she's now making her recovery. They initially overcharged us by about £80, but when collecting the rabbit they made us aware of the error and refunded the excess. I can't thank them enough.
B. G.
Support us in an emergency, very helpful team.
I. A.
Went into the PDSA. I had to have an appointment to pick up a prescription.
Only a few people there but the place did have an unusual doggy odour. It's not usually like this.
S. S.
Our Dog had to spend some time here after an op and was very poorly, her first time away from us since we got her.
Returned to us after a 2 nights stay wagging her tail.
Very grateful to the staff and vets who we didnt really meet due to Covid restrictions.
M. M.
The whole team were truly wonderful with our fur boy Lucky. From start to finish they were there including during the night, the vets, nurses, reception staff and their response on the phone was great. When it was time to say goodbye vet Zoe and the nurse spent time with us and also came to the car so he wasn’t distressed. Thank you all for your love and understanding.
S. I. (.
Looked after my dog for years after I could no longer visit my original vet. He has long term problems but no matter what, they cared for him even through the covid pandemic. Always helpful, always friendly, always caring, always thorough even when they're rushed off their feet. Couldn't say a word against them!
A. B.
Amazing staff so very helpful
I. K.
Vary nice Staff, did all they could for my Granddaughters little guinie pig Side but sadly not a good end, but the staff very supportive. Thanks for all you did.
t. m.
A fantastic place with great staff, looked after my boy when he took poorly. Can't rate them high enough
D. F.
We were attended to promptly with experienced caring staff.
A good outcome.
P. M.
Excellent staff, fantastic amount of parking. Beyond grateful that this place exists and does so much for so little! Will continue to donate monthly to the rspca!
I. S.
Never had a bad experience with the emergency care my pets have received here. My dog was feeling very poorly and they saw her very quickly and gave her some medication to make her comfortable and to help settle her stomach over the next couple of days. She was soon back to herself. Thank you for looking after her.
R. A.
Had to visit due to suspected allergy with my traditional Shar Pei, Frank. We've had bad experiences with vets in the past due to his breed, James saw Frank and he was incredibly compassionate and gained our trust straight away. Unfortunately, Frank had lymphomas and so I had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go. The support I received I will be eternally grateful for, James was so understanding and carried Frank to my car so that I could bring him home for the night so the rest of my pack could say goodbye and know that he was at peace.
I cannot thank you enough PDSA, you are true animal saviours. Nothing will ever replace my boy or fill the void in my heart but you treated him with kindness, respect and dignity when he needed it most.
W. J.
Hugely helpful lady I spoke to on the phone. Very sad to hear that they have lost a huge amount of finding and can only help emergency animals!!! The government should be giving this amazing charity the same amount of money they have spent on PPE this last year!!!!
K. O.
I've had to use this place twice now and each time the level of care was wonderful. I live really far away and it's so hard to get here by bus but even though we were over 30 mins late we were still allowed to stay and be seen. Such a relief to know my animals can be cared for even when I'm in a bad situation and don't have the money available like I used to for expensive vet bills.
D. G.
The work they do here is amazing. Kind staff. Had to take my poorly cat here as an emergency and the staff were amazing. It's very busy but it's handled very well. Good vets who deserve medals.
P. E.
Absolutely wonderful staff. I can't praise them enough. With the Covid 19 lockdown in place they obviously couldn't see my dog Bingo but they did the best they could over the phone and I was able to get him medication. My dogs are my best friends and I am so grateful for the work they do in helping animals.
R. H.
Fantastic staff they take their time and explain the problem with your family pet
C. N.
The emergency Vet team were lovely after we had to bring our beloved friend in. Was one of the hardest things to go through with our "best friend" but the staff were very considerate and respectful in her last moments. Thank you for giving her the dignified end she deserved :(
M. C.
Our dog - Martha was ill, we nipped to PDSA, the place was very busy and the staff were very attentive, we waited about 20 minutes before we were called by the Vet. She examined Martha and told us she had had a stroke, the Vet told us to keep her quiet and warm and after a few days she was better than she was, she's still a bit wobbly but not as bad as she was. Great service for little money really.
R. K.
The vets were great. Friendly and aftercare was explained well.
Unfortunately the reception staff esp julie or Jodie was very rude and uncooperative
We are all going through a difficulty time
But no need to act in a abrupt rude manner
K. V.
The staff and vets here are very caring, very conscientious and never seem to be in a rush to get you in and out like some others we've been to. We can't take our dog but we've taken m-in-law and her dog and she's always been well looked after.
S. M.
I would like to thank you all for your help and treatment over the years
If not for you I couldn't afford to give my pets the best care
My pets have always been looked after and have been happy with all the services you provide
And lower costs treatment's to help people not so well of
I would say it's sad that people use the service you provide and don't want to give a penny to help towards your care for there pets and some people are rude I've seen it
You are not gods and am sure your jobs are upsetting at times when animals cannot be saved for many different reasons
Merry Christmas all the staff and animals and will be in with treats for Christmas thanks again
a. h.
Lovely new building, friendly staff
E. P.
The staff are amazing, helped our pet when she was in crisis, got her in quick and showed her lots of love the after care was very impressive to, worth every single penny and more
M. M.
Staff always friendly. Vets are very understanding and informative. Will help you with the best guidance on flea treatments ' shampoos etc . They do a terrific job .
S. A.
Got my cat in on an emergency appointment as his eye was really bad & couldn't fault the service. Helpful, efficient staff & a great vet. Treatment sorted, back next week to be checked.
M. P.
My experience of going to the PDSA was brilliant as they treated me and my dog ruby very welcoming and she was very well looked after there with all her problems she was suffering with they really helped her with the operation they did on my dog ruby would go there again with my dogs they are excellent at doing what they do for animals in there care and very friendly forwards you so i give them 10 out of 10
C. P.
You are all angel's that walk this earth. You have saved my Clair many times and I thank you with all my heart. Xxxx
M. T.
Had to take our cat who was very ill great service very helpful
S. H.
The staff here are amazing. Very quick to see my dog & the aftertreatment was just as good. Highly recommend & will never take my pet to any other vet. A****
n. d.
Such a great place. The staff give a 100% and just love animals
M. P.
Absolutely fantastic ,brilliant friendly helpful staff , so caring wi my tommy ,luv em 💙💙
B. K.
The people here really showed compassion and understanding when I took my greyhound to see them. I didn't have a long wait near my appiontment time. As I wasn't on any I knew I would have to pay, but lower than my vets I believe. It was worth the journey.
C.
What an incredible service , thank you so much for being there when I needed your services the most.
S. ..
PDSA - Great reception, very helpful and caring staff & environment. Rely on donations so to treat pets of those who cannot afford the high price of veterinary bills. The vets do a great job. Thanks to all the staff for what they do for the members of family we call our 'pets'.
A. S.
Just want to say thank you for all your help. The staff are amazing, I dont know how they can be so polite with the abuse we saw them receive, they really don't deserve it. They are there to help pets and their people, not to be shouted at because it took longer than 10mins to bring a dog out.
M. A.
Absolutely amazing!
My kitten Billy was looked after in such calm & gentle way, I will always be grateful to all the staff at the centre. The reception staff were very lovely & took the time to explain all processes.
The vets were very polite and professional, willing to answer any questions we may have.
I recommend PDSA to all pet owners, they register an interest in the welfare of animals & promote their well being! Keep up the excellent work team PDSA :)
T. R.
I have all 4 of my dogs regested here since they were pups 2 has already gone through operations and if it wasn't for the PDSA my one of my dogs could have died I'd give them 10 stars if I could outstanding very friendly staff and take the best care of your dogs thank you so much for the op our little danny had saved his life he was drowning as couldn't stop drinking but he had a 20p stick in side him I new straight away he had a blockage so did the vet he went straight in to surgery 5days on hes jumping all over he only weight 5lbs and can thank them enough for what they have done for both dogs that had operations big love xxx
S. H.
Caring staff, always support the PDSA . My only complaint being if you attend with a cat it can be stressful as there are usually a lot of dogs all in one waiting room! And the waiting room often pongs of dogs! Otherwise recommend.
M. T. S.
Nice staff who know their stuff, lots of pets in and out throughout our visit, however the appointment time was only missed by 5 or 10 minutes and the vet spent her time, making us feel welcome and not stupid for asking questions. Much appreciated!
D. C.
Fantastic vet's work in this charity who take the time to explain what their going to do to help your beloved pet and why their doing it. All the staff are amazing. Can't praise them enough. Thank you.
S. D.
Unbelievably perfect service I cannot thank these vets enough for how they have treated my cat Charlie. I believe that you will never find better service at any other vets. Please try and donate as much as possible to keep PDSA going strong.im on benefits now but I've put 20 pound in to donation but I'm putting a further 100 in the next week.and that's still nothing to what it would have cost at ANY other vets. Thankyou so much for looking after Charlie.i know he is in the best possible hands.A1 vet.and the recpionist is also having a mention for her honesty and politeness.
C. T.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Better then my current vets!!
L. B. C.
They have helped me A LOT. I have done and I am still paying monthly, a donation. Have done for over 11 years, but they are always there to help. I would strongly suggest you contribute to them. They are wonderfull and always there in time of need. Pay a little all the time, it adds up.
H. C.
Excellent place although busy was dealt with efficiently and with kindness
d. b.
I would say the best vets I have ever used. Excellent service and explained everything in an easy to understand way. Also recommended ways we could try to prevent/reduce the risk of the problem happening again.
H. P.
The best people's facility for animals in the world. A friend had his dog laid to sleep this particular time. Very very sad and upsetting time but the animal was old and suffering extremely. It was time and the animal hospital. PDSA were extremely dignified and respectful in their approach to all of this. Ten out of ten.
h. l.
The nurses and vets were wonderful and kind.my little cat Billie was taken and treated and they do wonderful word during covid.amazing people.thanks to all of you.
a. s.
They're good. Also free if you don't have a job. They've helped 4 of my acacia rats so far. 4 Years ago my ex's negligence cost my little Lelu half her tail. She's still going and there have been no issues with the remaining half since.
O. F.
After an emergency visit we sadly lost our beloved dog the vets and nurses were extremely compationate and kind also very helpful and treated her with the utmost dignity can not praise everyone highly enough . an excellent recommendation for everything they do.

My girl ruby thought she had been stung by a wasp/bee the pdsa attended her promptly they did surgery and found it was a grass seed please check your pets for these seed as they can be very dangerous
A. W.
We have taking our dog here a few times over the years he is 12. He has not had really any thing bad wrong but the treatment he has had has been first class the staff are very good and understanding.
The service is very great
s. h.
People are so helpful and friendly.. helped my dog out (patch) so much. Thank you....
P. W.
Very helpful and very clean staff could not do enough always happy to help
K. M.
Really enjoyed being there lovely location and well kept
C. D.
I have been a constant visitor with my pets for over 40 years and always received good treatment and follow ups. Unfortunately they have had to reduce the free treatment for a second pet. This is sad. But I see some people not donating any or sufficient contributions to help the PDSA. They relied on people leaving gifts of money from Wills, but they don't get enough now to support them
s. o.
Personally I think the service was very good and up to now finley is fine not being a vet I can't comment more on the operation. I would certainly recommend them and encourage people to support them for the fine work they are doing.
C. W.
Friendly staff, very helpful.
Very busy but no stress or fuss.
M. D.
Nice vet's, but they no have equipment's like :x-ray or MRI
S. S.
Great experience, staff super friendly, my cats was very well looked after both time when I used pdsa.
T. C.
Our dog Daisy needed prompt surgery which was done in a very professional manner. Our first time experience using PDSA was excellent.
G. S.
Staff very compassionate, it's clear that animals come first. My dog had to be put to sleep
M. M.
Excellent service and respect for the work done here
S. B.
Absolutely wonderful, my cat had major surgery which cost about £500. I contribute what I can but without this wonderful charity my almost 17 year old cat who I actually saw born would have had to either suffer or be put to sleep.
N. R.
Great place and all are hard working but because of covid it is realy hard to see someone when your pet is unwell and it can sometimes be difficult to explain over the phone.
J. S.
Lovely staff. Extremely helpful and caring. Your pet couldn't be in better hands
S. R.
Took my friend with her Puppy after he became ill and they were grear with him. He stayed over night and was back to his usually bouncy self when we picked him up the following day.
M. Y.
I think the PDSA do a fabulous job. Sometimes you have to wait but please be patient & don't moan at the staff, they are doing the best they can. The staff & vets are friendly & make time to listen.
W. L.
This place is good and if you have to pay its alot cheaper than usual vet fees and they are very knowledgeable
J. M.
Very caring professional vet and vet nurses. I felt assured that my beautiful cat was in good hands.
H. S.
Gave my dog great treatment throughout his life and then when it was his time to go they helped him to pass with dignity, care and respect. Nothing but good things to say about these vets.
T. T.
My general opinion of vets are that they are in it for the money, Ambivets are no better or worst, unnecessary test before they tell you what wrong with your pet. Otherwise ok
J. C.
Had very poorly Jack Russell. They did everything they could. Nothing was out of the question. Vets nurses and reception staff excellent.
A. D.
Seen my poorly dog as an emergency on boxing day, was a bit of a wait but once she was seen it was fastamd easy, brilliant staff and efficient and calm process
P. z. (.
PDSA do an excellent job. Friends dog was an emergency and seen late at night. They could do with more support during Covid-19 as funds have really dried up.
A. J.
Been using this pet hospital since I lost my job. And my dogs Minni and stash love the vets here.. And I would like to thank them for all the hard work they put in keeping my dogs and so many more healthy
t. s.
The team at pdsa are a great bunch of people that are understanding and compassionate towards your pets. The vets do a awsome job to help with your pets in anyway possible and always give 100% in their line of work.
d. w.
Services are great. It would be really great if imaging/mri equipment was donated. And other surgeries performed on pets that have lost feelings in their limbs. It would be nice if a private vet would reduce cost for pdsa clients. And perform certain priority surgeries. Everyone loves their pets but cannot afford certain surgeries or mri. So some options for them that are very sad us to have the pet put down . Private vets please help someone in need.
S. S.
Last Friday night I rang telling them my exotic cat cleo wasn't well, I didn't know why but couldn't put my finger on it, the receptionist was lovely and told me to bring her down , I was seen promptly, the vet on call was very thorough and decided to admit her, I was told I would be called in the morning at 10am , but I was called at 8.30 am by a wonderful vet called him, who told me it was touch and go with her, I was kept totally informed all the way through nothing was too much trouble, the vet nurse was outstanding when I visited her later that day, when I got the dreaded call that evening, I was there when Jim had to put her to sleep, I could have paid a million pounds and not got the care, compassion and dignity from this man, he wrapped my beloved cat up in a cosy blanket and carried her to my car, 100% satisfaction from these truly caring people nothing was too much trouble for them so thank you Jim and pdsa from the bottom of my heart
S. R.
If it wasn't for a place like this to be able to take our pets to for help, i think alot of pets will suffer and die. I have personally been with these for years now with my pets. They are lovely people and work incredibly hard. I think the private vets really don't seem to care if your pets live or die has long as you have the money to pay them up front. I will always be behind the PDSA 100% god bless you all for the work you do. x
A. T. M. H. T.
Excellent service. Fantastic staff who are dedicated , compassionate and understanding. There charges are extremely reasonable. Unlike some of the branded rivals on the high street
S. R.
My pet had a septic foot duing lock down
I sent a photo of his paw and the PDSA told me to come to the vet and collect some antibiotics I donated a donation as I usually do
Now his paw is ,,%100
T. R.
Staff were caring & professional...we were so stressed and worried ,but they put us at ease!
J. T.
Best place ever. My dog is 16 this year and they still show him the same compassion now, as they did when he was a pup.. thankyou pdsa..x
L. B.
Excellent service my dog was looked after like a angel and they really cared for him
B. M.
As i have been there many times with pets .And always had good service for myself and my pet and come away feeling better for both of us thank you very much Bob /Bella
D. H. (.
Had to use the pdsa last month with my 6 year old cat who has a heart murmer and he started vomiting blood .. rushed him in at 1am and the staff were lovely, caring and very helpful , can honestly say they saved his life and I am very grateful to all the staff that were involved with his care .
The only thing that got me was the amount of people who donated so little (£5- £10) despite this charity spending £100's treating their animals. They were driving brand new cars , wearing so much jewellery and sat in the waiting room on their expensive iphones ect ..........
Surely if you can afford to get luxuries like these then you can afford to donate more towards the vet treatments or even use another vets 🤔
V. S.
Fantastic service from the emergency vets. They were very professional and kept me well informed at all times. The building was well accessible, very clean and the staff worked to ensure that everyone was well accomodated
c. w.
Very very caring staff cannot do enough for you very sympathetic
m. “. b. g.
You recently looked after 1 of our family members x he is still with us and enjoying life to the max 👌 his name is cookie france and he is a hamster and no matter how big or small he was we thank you very much x⚘ ❤
L. C.
I've seen a lot of people bashing the PDSA vets on animal forums. However, the vets that work there are usually vets that volunteer from other [private] practices. For me alone, that is a true sign of dedication.
Also, I have an Italian Greyhound which is quite a rare breed in the UK. 99% of the vets I've seen have never seen one, so when he was 1 year old, my boy was suddenly struck down with an unknown illness which made him completely lethargic and screaming in pain upon even gently touching, I turned to the PDSA.
They were amazing from the very start. I had an emergency appointment and was seen immediately. He was checked thoroughly and kept in overnight, given fluids intravenously, and medications to lower his fever and pain. The staff were all very welcoming, kind, and genuine animal lovers. They also did a great job at explaining everything as we went along too. We never did find out what the mysterious illness was, but he's now 2 and doing great.
As the PDSA is a charity, I have always donated a minimum of 50% of the bill, 100% if I can afford it, to keep them going. I've also donated blankets and towels too.
The only gripe I have is that sometimes the centre is way too busy. All of the chairs may be taken if it is really busy, which may not be a problem to you - it is for me as I'm mobility disabled. And if it is really busy, you may sometimes be kept waiting (30mins-1hour past appointment time.)
Car parking can also be a problem too.
A. C.
The staff here are very helpful and welcoming.
Waiting room can be very busy and noisy sometimes.
There support is very much appreciated. Thanks to everyone there.
K. W.
They are so caring and very honest. We lost our beautiful Ginger, our rabbit, despite all the help they gave him. Thank you for caring so well.
E. N.
Very good place helpful staff good duty of care to animals and they well looked after during their visit
J. l.
Good and very helpful
C. C.
This place is just amazing and the staff are really sympathetic ty for keeping my fur baby here ❤
M. E.
Brilliant place really looked after my dog.
R. G.
Over the last two days I approached PDSA for them to treat my little Siamese female, by the name of Gracie.
The care and love they gave her was absolutely inspiring. Regrettably and with great sadness she had to be euthanized due to severe liver failure.
Their genuine support is greatly appreciated.
Heartfelt thanks to ALL of you.
Robin Green and Martin
J. B.
The staff were so friendly & understanding.. I had to make that awful decision to put my dog Tyson out of pain.. They let me spend as much time with him as I could.. They looked after him with dignity & sympathy.. Thankyou so much to all the staff & ppl who support the PDSA..
g.
Amazing place. They do such brilliant work.
I would have probably lost my dog if they hadn't operated xx
l. c.
Only place to go really if your pet is poorly and needs treatment ASAP excellent friendly staff,my dog loves going when she has too, easy to find plenty of parking job done
g. h.
LIFE SAVERS THAT'S A FACT without these people many pets would be dead or living in distress ,for someone to call them a rip off that person should be ashamed of themselves they really are living on another planet and expect every thing to be handed to them on a plate.Try going to a non PDSA vet then you'll know what rip off is ,cost 40 -45 pounds just for walking in then your meter starts . many of us would be lost without the PDSA calling them a rip off you'd have to be a idiot .Well done PDSA a real charity that I owe so much , we love you.
T. S.
My pooch didn't get seen last Monday because of an emergency...staff very helpful for sending us up the road... literally 3 mins...got seen thereafter...👍
L. V. S.
I had to let my beloved whippet go in the wee hours of the morning and they got us straight in and handled the whole thing with kindness and respect.. Made a terrible situation go alot easier
H. O.
While the dispensary staff were lovely as ever, the receptionist who I haven't seen there before was rude, abrupt and lacked empathy to say the least.
D. D.
If I ever leave any money to a charity it would be these. They do a fantastic job and far more compassionate than other vets.
L. C.
A wonderful and caring group of people that are there for our pets when they need them and they rely on donations to keep going, but never faulter in their care. Can't praise them enough.
s. m.
My boa constrictor socrates was taken seriously poorly at night and i tried for two hours to get a vet to see him and all in local area refused. PDSA vet agreed to see him and i have never been more grateful to any service fantastic quick acting veterinary staff and wonderful nursing staff thank you so much for all your help cannot express how wonderful the staff were first rate service all the way and how grateful i am to you thank you again
N. S.
Having been informed my doggie's prognosis wasn't good I took her home for a few more days, she took a turn for the worse on a Sunday evening and we had to rush to this practice out of normal hours , after a thorough discussion by the vet , with my husband ( I wasn't brave to go inside! She was operated on to remove her eye within 1.5 hours ! ... I can't thank the reception staff or the vet enough for their commitment and dedication, totallly reassuring us and ringing us at home through the late evening , I would highly recommend using this practice, even worth a second opinion if your doubting your own dogs diagnosis! .... my dog has had her stitches out after just two weeks, running around after my westie like nothing has happened , at a time I though I was going to loose her ! Thank you ... thank you .... thank you 👍🏻💕😃
D. G.
Sadly my last visit was to have my fur baby put to sleep. The vets and staff were very supportive. So thankful to them for all they do
L. P.

My cat done something to his leg while out so took him here, they were brilliant gave him an antiswell injection and an antibiotic injection and some flea spray then took him here a week later to be casterated and microchipped waited an hour then asked reception when patch will be taken in, the lady was quite rude and told me 'thats what i get for being late' (casteration admit is 8am though i did say it would be after the school run and this was wrote on my consent form that i would be there at 9am) i got there for quater to 9. When i went into the surgeon at 10.45 to hand my cat over the surgeon told me they was sorry i had to wait so long they was unsure as to weather i was there or not!!
So ive had a good experiancr with them and a bad one so 3 stars for me.
