We recently had to make the hardest decision of our lives to have our much loved Labrador, Henry put to sleep. Henry was a very large Labrador and reached a fantastic age however, suffered with arthritis and this affected his mobility and caused him pain.
Henry was distressed when visiting his local veterinarian and struggled getting in and out of the car. Quietus was recommended to us by a family friend that had used Paul previously. I contacted Paul and had a long conversation over the phone talking about Henry and we decided on a dreaded date. Paul even gave kind advice on what to do with our younger dog Bella and explained his wife Yvonne would come on our agreed date.
With the decision made we then spent precious time with Henry and made even more memories to treasure.
Yvonne was so kind and caring towards Henry throughout the process and it truly was a peaceful process with his best interests at heart. Every step of the process was explained and Henry’s comfort was paramount. We were given privacy in between each process and Yvonne was just wonderful.
Whilst this was a heartbreaking kindness we had to do for Henry it went smoothly, peacefully and we had privacy and dignity due to doing this in our own home.
Thank you quietus. I 100% recommend.

We had to make the dreadful decision to put our beloved dog to sleep just before his 12th birthday. I didn't want it to be impersonal or clinical - I wanted him to be at home. Quietus vets provide an extremely personal and professional service. Our best friend died in his favourite sleeping spot surrounded by his family in the sunshine and we will be forever grateful for the care given by the vets both at this truly difficult time and the aftercare.

I contacted Paul when we had to make the difficult decision to part with our friend of thirteen years due to severe ill health. Paul was professional
from the outset, explaining the procedure on the phone. He was even able to offer advice on how to make Alfie more comfortable when I rang him in a panic to see if he could attend earlier than planned (he did) as Alfie had taken a turn for the worse. On the day that we dreaded, Paul could not have been more caring and he gave us as much comfort as he did Alfie. The 3 stage process was unhurried and we were given time to spend time with Alfie as he quietly slipped away. We cannot thank him enough as he made a difficult time easier for us to bear and, more importantly, easier for Alfie to pass with dignity and without pain.

Making the hard choice when it finally came to the end of our little man's life was made that tiny bit easier by the professionalism and care that Paul gives.
Bear was 14 year old Black cat who until a few months ago was the best cat and then, like many his age, his kidneys started to fail and over the space of 6 weeks he just slowly declined till we had to make that call.
We found out about Quietus vets online and thought how less stressful it would be for Bear to leave us with us by his side at home, not frightened on a vets table.
Anyone who thinks that this service isn't worth paying that little bit extra, please let me tell you I couldn't of asked for anything more from the service that Paul provided us.
As part of what Paul does he provides a sedative before starting the process which relaxes your friend to make it easier, something most vets don't provide before the anesthetic. Again another reason his service is worth it.
We got to hold him and say our goodbyes at home, with no outside glances or anyone else interrupting bears final moments. When he had passed we got as much time as we needed with him, there was no rush in anyway from Paul just his kind words.
I got to carry him out for one last time before Paul took him on.
Also I got home from work yesterday to a hand written personnel bereavement card from Paul about bear and the choice we have to make, a personnel touch I doubt I would have got from anywhere else.
We are very grateful to Quietus vets and Paul, would highly recommend to anyone having to deal with the most difficult choice a pet owner has to make.

Saying goodbye to our beloved elderly dog was always going to be upsetting. Paul made the experience as gentle and as easy as possible.
His manner and the way in which the whole process was handled was professional, calm and made us feel comfortable from the start - helping us deal with the difficult situation.
Thank you for offering this service Paul, you’ve made our last memories so much more bearable.

It has taken me a little over a week to write this. My boy Riddick was 16.5 years old and he was my world and part of my heart. He had been ok with bronchitis then lost a lot of weight suddenly. I remember always worrying I wouldn't be able to make the decision to put him to sleep or I'd leave it too late. I think you do know the time but that realisation is the hardest thing to accept. If you are like me and confused, reading this at 3am in the morning looking desperately for an answer. Then I hope this review brings you some comfort and support in making a decision. My boy went to sleep last wednesday. At home in his chosen spot. He was pottering in the garden before and greeted Yvonne who came to support his last journey. He was not frightened or stressed, he felt nothing. I spent hours on the Internet trying to avoid taking him to the vets, trying to find a way for him to go to sleep with no pain or fear. Yvonne who came to the home was so friendly, supportive and calm. Ridi liked her and her presence and care of my boy kept me calm and I was able to sit with my boy until he fell asleep. The loss I feel is so great but I have no regrets as I know my boy was at home, felt no pain and the three injections meant it was a gradual and calm process. If anyone is facing this decision I would say to you. That Quietusvet is the right choice.Yvonne thank you so much you made an unbearable and dreaded moment in my boys life a special moment to say goodbye. I will always be grateful I found your site that night. All the best. Alana

Paul was amazing, he made us feel we made the right decision for our fur baby. He was professional but very caring at the same time. He didn’t make us feel rushed and was very sympathetic to our needs . Can’t thank Paul enough for all he did for us and for helping Tyla over the rainbow

I didn’t want to take my fur baby to the vets. Paul came to the house, was non intrusive, polite, sensitive and calming. It allowed me the time to say goodbye to my beloved dog Holly in her own home and familiar setting. I’d highly recommend Paul fir a professional but personal service. I paid extra to have Holly’s ashes back home, Paul delivered these and the box with her ashes is lovely. Thanks Paul

Our old Cocker Spaniel, Beau, had reached sixteen, after a long and happy life we realised his time had come for us to say goodbye. Our own vet wanted us to put him in the car, even though we explained that he was on his last legs and we didn’t want to put him through the stress of the journey and being carried into the vets. We asked if he would come out to put him to sleep but he was unable to. Thank goodness l looked on the internet and found Quietus vet. I arranged with Paul for him to come to our house in the morning. He arrived, without fuss, said hello to Beau, then explained exactly what was going to happen. Beau didn’t know the day was any different to any other. He went peacefully, in his own bed, at home, with both of us by his side. Paul was kind, understanding, calm and thoughtful. I would recommend his service to anyone in the same sad situation without hesitation. I have two other dogs and l can only hope that when the time comes, if l need the services of a vet, Paul, or someone very like him would be available.

He came to us to put her to rest.
A decision not easy but it was the best.
Paul got to know her and made her feel calm.
She was in her own bed and knew she was not in an harm.
Then the time come and Paul explained all.
She knows you are there and can hear when you call.
The second dose came we knew she was fine.
Angels were coming, she knew it was time.
The last dose in and all was done.
A Bonnie truly missed she was our no 1.
Thanks Paul. Xx

Paul made light of such a heartbreaking situation. Such a lovely bloke who I felt I'd known him personally. He explained each stage thoroughly and was 100% professional yet deeply consoling. I can not express enough how thankful I am to Paul for giving me the opportunity to say my good byes in my own surroundings. Cleo was an 11yr old staffy with a mammory gland cancerous tumor. Paul instantly noticed that she wasn't happy and in pain and consoled me telling me I'd made the right decision. I would highly recommend that you book him. His services are worth every penny just for his professionalism and caring ways. I thank him from the bottom of my heart. I had the gold cremation service and as much as it hurts, I can not wait to be reunited with best friend. Thank you Paul you really are a fantastic person. Received a personal card from Paul a few days after which I think is a lovely touch. Had cleo put to sleep on the 4th, and Paul personally delivered her ashes back today 15th. Was so nice to be reunited with her and to also have a chat with Paul. It was such a personal and heart-felt service I 100% recommend that you book with Paul.

I would like to thank Paul for his compassion and respect he gave to our beautiful boy Pepe and us as a family when we made the sad decision to let Pepe go. At no time did we feel rushed with the procedure and we was able to say goodbye to Pepe. Our hearts are broken but knowing that Pepe was in his own surroundings with his blanket and family around him made it a lot easier,. Thanks again Paul

I am so grateful to Paul for visiting my dog Benji. Benji was suffering from kidney failure and his vet said I should call it a day there and then. But we wanted to spend some more time with Benji first.
So I found paul on google and plucked up the courage to phone him. But he was easy to talk to and he came out the next day.
Benji slipped away very quietly - he hardly noticed the first stage.
We both miss benji very much. Thankyou Quietus for being there when we needed you

Exactly how it should be done when your beloved pet has to be put to sleep. In their own environment, calmly, slowly staged with no panic or pain. Paul is very quiet and gentle and follows your lead before moving on to the next stage giving you private time to say goodbye. Pay the extra for this home visit service and let your pet have the passing they deserve.

Hi , I recently had to say farewell to my beloved dear funny sweet cat Doris, she had a kidney tumor and was suffering. Of course we have the option to take our pets TO a vet to be put to sleep but I personally can't do that.....all my cats have gone 'to sleep' at home.
After several phone calls to vets I decided to arrange for Paul to come to our home....
Amidst all the tears and sadness Paul remained calm patient ,compassionate and thoroughly explained what was entailed in the procedure.
He GENUINELY seems to have empathy and care.
I would recommend this service to anyone who wants a professional yet kind approach when saying 'farewell' to their pets when they are suffering.

The most caring Vet, who offers the most amazing professional service with great kindness to both the animals and humans.
