J. F.I check into their website regularly as I am interested in getting a cat from them. Just waiting till the time is right. Their website gives all the information you need.
L. W.We rescued a 7yo cat from Woodside's, good to see they do a thorough investigation on where the animal is going to. Supplied us with all documentation and how to make the transition for our cat as stress free as possible.
Called 6 months later for a check in to see how the cat is doing.
They regularly need food dropped it for the animals so grab a few extra packets, pouches or tins when you're next in a pet shop.

We made a few donations of cat toys and had a look at the wonderful well cared for cats.
Wanted to take these home.
We got Nina and Pip from woodside 12 years ago, Nina is still doing well and very happy.

C. R.A lovely place. The staff are very welcoming. I actually went to drop off a donation of oats that were left over from an activity I had been doing with toddlers. But they were friendly and allowed us to look around and take some pictures while we were there to show the children what had happened to their donation.
The pens that the animals are kept in are spacious and enriching. I was very impressed. It really is a great place, you can tell the staff really care about the animals.

R. C.We visited Woodside on 13/9/19 but sadly didn't find our new dog. However we found the centre clean and tidy. The dog pens were very clean and well kept and the dogs we saw seemed very well cared for and happy. The cats pens were extremely well kept and the cats had toys and play things to them occupied. Again the cats were well kept and happy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Go and see for yourself
J. M.Adopted a cat and was due to pick him up the following week. Unfortunately he developed cat flu in the interim. He was very poorly for 6 weeks but was so well looked after at Woodside and must of cost them a fortune in vets bills!
Bear the cat is now at home with me and slowly settling in.
The care he was given was outstanding and I could not be more impressed. Certainly recommended.
W. H.Keep looking out for a kitty. We got our last cat there that sadly died due to seizures 4 years after getting him. He was deaf white cat and gorgeous.

R.Might look a bit dated but don't let that cloud your opinion. The staff work very hard to make sure the well oiled machine of finding homes for pets runs seemlessly and is well managed allowing the staff to show each potential pet for rehoming in the best possible light.
Once you take you new family member home, the service and attention to detail does not end there! Woodside staff are available for support and advice during the life of your pet - a service rarely seen these days and highly commendable from this charity
One small critisism: due to the fast paced change of pets for rehoming, some don't make the website so viewing in person is recommended
c. s.We got misty an American bulldog boxer x big and muscular completely white from Woodside six years ago in January she is the best thing to happen to us a as long time supporters there professional way of rehoming is great merry Christmas Woodside

A. S.I've owned animals my whole life and now that I own my own property, I wanted a little furball of my own! I originally requested a lovely cat, but Plymouth has an evident lack of Cats at the moment and combined with my short experiencr with woodside I gave up on that pipedream and have since moved onto the next best thing - Guinea Pigs!
Unfortunately every attempt at contacting Woodside has been thwarted . I've spoken to others who have dealt with Woodside and it seems that if they don't like the cut of your gib they'll either steer you away from the nice animals and towards the more... Unwanted ones (sounds harsh but there are some scary animals in rescue ), or keep showing you the opposite of what you're looking for until you give up, or as in my case, simply not reply to your emails. Although how they got put off by my an email is beyond me... I may have added a joke in there ... And maybe I shouldn't have mentioned I was in the military ?? My bad!
It's probably because I'm in the military , or a man, or maybe because I live within a 30 meters of a railway line (it's fenced off in a major way), or because I live within 400 meters of water or something . They should have replied to give me a reason why I'd be unsuitable, or asked for me to elaborate.
Either way i don't feel too guilty about not being able to adopt an animal from here, they're all fine and the turn over is pretty high. I've now got a tiny herd of guinea pigs from a farm an hour's drive away and they're loving life. I've created a piece of heaven for the little pigs. And because whenever the doors to the outside are open, the little pigs are in a pen, the deadly train shall harm no pig in this household.
