I would definitely recommend this practice. We had to travel to Spain with our dog and required an AHC as the UK is no longer part of the EU. Many vets are refusing to do them as they are time consuming and the paperwork is complicated. However, the Pet Healthcare Centre rose to the challenge and we didn't have a single problem. Some people were turned away by Brittany Ferries as their vets had not done the forms properly but fortunately Bob knew exactly what he was doing. A big thank you from me and the price was very reasonable in comparison to just about every other person we spoke to, who had the same forms.

I recently had the devastating decision to make to have my very special dog put to sleep due to her being 17 years old and now finding life very difficult. Jen had served as my Police Drug Search Dog for 12 years and then had 6 years of lovely retirement.
Bob and his team were the only vets in the area who would assist me with this very distressing situation as Jen was unable to travel to the vets meaning they had to come to my house.
Bob and his veterinary nurse couldn’t have been more professional, compassionate and respectful and I thank them with all my heart.

Really looks after your Pet, they know my dog by sight (not sure if that is a good thing) and are always happy to help, they are always happy to give advice. If my dog has eaten something she should not have, i get a good prognosis about what is going happen and what to look for if i should need bring her back. They have a helpful text reminder service about worming pill etc. Overall really happy

I had to sadly say a heart wrenching good bye to my seventeen year old bedlington whippet 31.3.21 Harry. Bob and veterinary nurses were very understanding and supportive. Covid precaution and prevention very much in place. Thank you once again.

I have been taking my dogs to Bob for about eighteen years now, or basically since they have been open. I don't think I would go anywhere else. Bob and the nurses have always been brilliant with my various dogs over the years, so five stars is not enough in my mind but that's all I'm allowed. Keep up the good work

I saw rather more than I would have liked to of Bob and his team from Jan to Dec 2018. This was due to my beautiful boy Charley who was a 12yr old collie. In Jan he had a routine cataracts operation (elsewhere) which unfortunately was problematic as he had a gastric bleed and kidney problems in Feb. Bob was able to reassure me and get me an appointment at the hospital where he had his eyes done. Charley recovered from this slowly and went to see Bob for regular check ups. Charley then lost the sight in one eye and the other had poor sight. In July I visited Bob again as I was concerned. Bob gave me news that was a bit of a shock and took bloods. A few days later he called to confirm that it was stage 3 lymphoma and was aggressive. Charley's kidneys were too damaged to have chemo that could put him into remission. But he discussed the possibility of rescue chemo which could fight the cells and improve his quality of life. I decided that this was the way to go. The first round was absolutely awful for us and I was convinced Charley was dying. He was too poorly to take to Bob so we had a long conversation on the phone. He asked me to wait 48hrs as he felt it was the chemo. I trusted him and 40 hrs later Charley got up and went outside for a wee. Bob was right. The chemo was every 3 weeks and bloods every 3 weeks, hence seeing a lot of him! Charley gave up his fight on Dec 13th when Bob and a member of his team came to the house to let him sleep whist I was cuddling him on the floor. I trust Bob and he always gives you the information that you need to make an informed choice. Thank you very much for everything that you did for my beautiful boy xx

Couldn't recommend more , Dr Bob and team do a super job and really care about the animals coming in the door . Basil receives the best care when hes there and loves visiting .Wouldn't go anywhere else even though it's a 60mile round trip. Thanks for looking after basil :)

(I was surprised to read a negative review about this practice, as I have found the opposite) Do you want "flannel" from a Veterinary practice or do you want the truth, as hard as that may be to take? I prefer the truth. Bob the Vet tells it like it is and his concern is the animal not the owner. When I went with my old girl with a leg problem, I didn't think she would come home, that has happened twice now, especially as she is well past her "use by date" for her breed. I was told x-ray needed and could be a bone cancer. He was told if the x ray showed it was there then she wasn't to be woken up. Three days of pain killers and she walked in bouncing, well almost. Rather than take the opportunity of depriving me of at least £300 I was told not necessary as bone cancer would have showed more. Am pleased to say twelve months on with medication she is till bouncing and enjoying a sensible walk for her age !!
On 11th April 2017..Sasha finally lost the battle after over a year plus on medication. During which time she enjoyed life. I have to thank Bob the Vet and his nurses for their compassion and understanding. We were allowed to be with her during what was not an easy passing to witness. All the time we were kept informed and encouraged to let Sasha know we were there with her. When Sasha made a point of licking me during the procedure I knew I had made the right choice as confirmed later. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough for their truth and honest during Sasha's life time. With their help she made it to 12.5yrs very good for a GSD!
Also spoken to the Crematoria that this practice uses and they are just as caring too!! They have time to talk to bereaved owners - Sasha's remains come home soon.
My sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone concerned on this difficult journey.

EXCELLENT SERVICE.
Our elderly dog, Kizzy, used to be a shaking wreck when we took her to another practice - not here! She trots in and is very relaxed. She's had two serious procedures and recovered well.
Thoroughly recommended; a caring and knowledgeable service from people who know what they are talking about; having pets of their own they completely understand the worries of their owners and genuinely care for their patients.
THANK YOU, HYTHE PET CARE CENTRE!
11June 2019 The day any pet owner dreads. The one I'd been dreading for 16 1/2 yrs. Rushed dear Kizzy in after ringing ahead to say I feared she was dying. It was decided that she'd "worn her batteries out" and her symptoms suggested any further investigations would be unkind at her age (no money making and ineffectual tests unlike some practices might suggest) and she was helped to slip away peacefully. Never, ever, a pleasant time but the staff and Bob were most kind and efficient. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE CARE YOU PROVIDED FOR OUR LITTLE GEM OF A DOG, KIZZY🐕🐾🐾

Didn't find it a friendly welcome! Felt under pressure, and as a new owner of a puppy I didn't think I got enough help and information. The reception was cold.
