Absolutely wonderful. We called vets now at 2:30am after waking to our little dog crying and having a lame back leg. They told us to come down immediately, the vet we saw was amazing. Our little dog was 13, and was in heart failure, and what we thought was a broken leg actually turned out to be a blood clot. The vet explained everything to us in detail and gave us options, but he was very sick and likely to come back with another blood clot very soon. We put our boy to sleep at 3:30am and the vet allowed us to stay as long as we wanted. I’m so thank full that we have this out of hours service close to us, and I’m actually glad, despite the extra cost with it being out of hours, that it actually all happened at this time. The whole experience felt private and our boy was treated so well. A week later we were called to pick up his ashes and they were just as wonderful then. Today I received a card through the post with a condolence note from the vets, and a pack of forget-me-not seeds to sow, in remembrance of him. Thank you so much to everyone at vets now who helped us.

A fabulous service to be able to get care 24/7. Sadly our elderly dog had to go to sleep but the staff were amazing, so supportive and caring. They didn't rush us and everything was done at our pace. The staff at beech House made a very painful time a little easier.

Our 16 year old cat was unwell at the weekend so we had to bring her to Vets Now to be monitored overnight. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. They called us morning and evening and let us know we could phone at anytime, which we did and they were happy to update us on our cat. Hopefully we won’t need to bring our cat back in an emergency, but wouldn’t hesitate to bring her here again if needed. Thank you for looking after Tiggy so well

We had to use the vet services here twice over the weekend, unfortunately, and ultimately had to make the terrible decision to have our lovely elderly terrier put to sleep. At every turn , every single one of the staff here were kind, respectful and helpful and guided us through this most awful time with such care. We cannot thank them enough for everything they did to help our boy at the end of his life. Today, we received forget -me - not seeds and the pawprints of our darling boy on a hand written card. They were able to deal directly with our insurance claim, at a time when we couldn't even think straight and would have found it utterly distressing to have to do so. They even talked us through cremation decisions. I cannot, I'm afraid , remember the names of everyone who helped us, but Marie the vet and Debbie in Admin were with us at the end and were amazing. Thank you all so much, you're amazing.

I brought my kitty Ember in last night due to her suddenly howling in pain - the person I spoke to on the phone was fantastic, helped me find the closest vet, I got the address texted to me, I cannot fault the process. I was also informed of the consult fee - I've seen so many reviews complaining about the fee. What people need to realise is this is an EMERGENCY vet who will see you at the drop of a hat, if you experinced a long wait time, they're probably dealing with a very sick animal. If your animal comes in needing IMMEDIENT care, they will take your animal straight away. If they allow you to wait, be happy your pet is healthy enough to wait to be seen. When having a pet, you should have pet insurance and things in place to afford their care. The vet was a lovely woman, I didn't catch her name but she was calm, caring and took her time with the appointment. She explained things clearly, went through options and things it could/couldn't be. Obviously, animals can't talk and it's hard to diagnose without tests - I was really happy with the vet and the care. The receptionist was also lovely and kind. People often give vets a bad rep - running a vet is expensive, medication is expensive and so is being seen out of hours. If you have a pet, get them insured and create an emergency fund. Obviously a vet is going to want some payment upfront, they cannot check at 2am if you pet is actually insured or not so they need some form of deposit. Very happy with Vets Now, couldn't fault them.

Dearest old boy ate parts of his Lickimat very late at night. The attention and service was lovely under extremely stressful circumstances, and a change of shift, and I was exhausted. It was very difficult knowing he was being sick and couldn't be with him. The care was nevertheless very good and arrangements were made to have him seen at Southern Counties the following morning first thing due to him not 'bringing up' the 3rd piece. We brought our beloved Kobe in at 9pm Saturday 5th Sept and saw a wonderful new Vet lady called Amy. Amy, I am so grateful for the loving way you treated my fur baby Kobe and you handled us in such a gentle, loving way. We were allowed to hold our little kobe in our arms on his baby blanket with his favourite cuddly toy called Mr Brown. Kobe went to sleep forever and we were given time to cry and pray with Kobe. I wish there had been a way to save our little man. Thanks for your love and compassion Amy. Thanks to Vets Now for the lovely card and forget me not seeds to plant in loving memory of our Kobes. We attened on the 28th December with our cat Henry following issues with his breathing, we were able to make a same day emergency appointment. Due to restrictions we had to wait outside in our car but we were kept informed and a member of staff collected Henry for the vet to see. We were then called by the vet, Stewart I think, who explained the position and options for Henry. Unfortunately Henry had to be put to sleep. Stewart was incredibly kind and gave me time to say goodbye, he then gently covered Henry so we could bring him home. From the staff on the phone, to the assistants and vet, all were kind, supportive and understanding. I have today received a sympathy card, hand written, in the post together with Forget-me-not seeds, these will be planted with Henry. Thank you.

They were amazing when we had to visit with our dog on Monday evening - it turns out he had a grass seed in his ear that has perforated his eardrum and was causing him significant pain and distress. My much loved dog died at home on a Sunday morning. Strange though it may seem, we were keen that his usual vets should take his body and deal with the cremation. As it was a Sunday, Vets now agreed to look after him until Monday morning. They were completely understanding and compassionate, and didn’t make any charge. Thank you.

They were great, very considerate and calm when dealing with how distressed ourselves and our dog were, they're obviously very caring people which really is what you need in that situation. I took my cat 🐈 to Vets Now Southampton recently and I did appreciate the long talk I had with both vet Drs who treated my cat, Nyasha and Bridget. I had the opportunity of asking questions and everything was explained really well to me. I didn't agree with all the action plans but after discussing treatment care we did agree on a plan. I would have appreciated a bit of personal care on my cat as he was smelling of urine when I picked him up in the morning. Price wise is really expensive and it makes you think about not having any more pets.

We found an unconscious fox cub that was extremely ill. We called Vets Now and they were so, so helpful. They found a suitable Vets Now centre, called them to alert them to our arrival and texted me with the Google maps location, so we could navigate there easily. The fox cub is doing really well and is now at a sanctuary until he's old enough to be released.

Excellent service at a very difficult time. The after care was even better. We left the carrier at the vet's and one of the ladies brought it back to us after she finished work. We thought that was really nice. Then a few days later we received a card of condolence, it gave us splice that our pet was looked after in his final hours. Thank you very much ❤️

Fantastic service. Receptionist was really friendly and told us we could phone at any stage of the evening to see how she's was doing. Whether that was 11pm or waking up and phoning at 3am. The vet was really kind too. We took clothing of ours to comfort our fur baby and the vet took them without hesitation. I Would recommend them to anyone!

I had a pet put to sleep as an emergency, so I can't really comment on the "service" as such, but I was really impressed with the attitude and empathy from staff. They managed to make me feel that they genuinely cared for both LJ and me, despite probably seeing similar situations on a regular basis. I'll definitely be using them again if I need an out of hours appointment in the future.

I went to vets now in bitterne for emergency when my dog has a seizure. I cannot thank all the staff there enough, they where so good and I know without their help, I probably wouldn't have my dog with me today. I highly recommend this place as all the staff are lovely, professional and informative and helped my dog get back to her self very quickly.

We were seen immediately for our very poorly rabbit! He was given immediate attention and thanks to the care he was provided with pulled through the night and is now well on the mend! If I had to give one slight criticism it would be the cost, we paid almost £500 for his over night care with included some medication and a fluid drip! We arrived at 11:30pm and had to collect him by 8:30 the following morning, we took him to our own vets who provided same treatment and it cost £100 for the full day including medication to take home! Still that being said you can’t put a price on your pets life and the care he was given was excellent! Thank you

We had an emergency with our cat and were directed here by a recorded message on our own vets phone. I was really impressed with the receptionist as a first contact and knowing from my call that he was Frankie and how she dealt with us and Frankie. A nurse came out and asked us the background of his problem and told us what was happening. We were directed to a room where the vet came out and explained things to us. She gave us time together to think and was really sympathetic. She kept popping back to keep us updated which was so kind of her as we were all distraught. It was a sad ending for us but the care we and Frankie received was brilliant. A couple of days later we received a condolence card with some seeds to plant in the garden - and they had informed our own vet and we had a card from him. They helped in such a caring way at a very difficult time for us. I have nothing but praise for them all. Thank you.

As an emergency appointment, I felt the staff and vet were caring proffessional and amazing. As my dog is a rescue she can sometimes been unsettled by vets but the vet at your practise was brilliant with her and very understanding. The two vets now bitterne southampton, over night teams i needed to use over a 3 day period were amazing. Their total sensitivity and professionalism was what we needed at a very traumatic time. We cant thank them enough.

The services here are good but the waiting time was very long. This was explained to me that as an emergency service there are not appointments but had I known I was going to wait two hours plus I would have brought my very poorly dog’s bed for him to lie in. There was no triage as I was told on the phone, until just approaching two hours a nurse cane to a offer a blanket and then another followed shortly afterwards to take temperature and listen to heart etc. The vet was very nice and listened well to the dogs history. The next morning I transferred my dog to our own vets and the obs and results of tests were very detailed. I was happy he’d been in good care after the long wait.

Unfortunately our guinea pig passed away while we were away and the vets were so helpful, allowed my mum to take her there and they stored her until we got back to arrange her cremation. They were so helpful during a difficult time for us. We phoned up the Out of hours vet, and as soon as we entered the building they took my rabbit out back to stabilise him and keep him breathing. During the prognosis they gave us plenty of time with him to make our decision, and after making the hard decision to put our baby rabbit to sleep gave us plenty of time with him before they administered the drug and done it all to our timings and never once rushed us for a decision or to say goodbye for the last time. These guys tried to save my baby's life and I want to thank each and everyone one of you guys. It was a hard time for me and my partner and you helped us in every way. Thank you for your hard work.

My cat had sadly been hit by a car and had died, thankfully, a lovely lady had stopped by my cat on the pavement whilst driving and brought him here as it was the only vets open at the time. They had called us and informed us of his passing. When we went the following day, they had kindly groomed him and been so kind to us. Very appreciative of their kindness and the lady who had spoken to us at the vets giving us a bit of his fur and a paw print. Thank you.

I had to take my boy Bo here in an emergency 2 nights ago. Vet had seen him prior and didnt seem interested and gave me a leaflet for these. I almost lost him. Vetsnow were brilliant. He had gone into diabetic shock. My vet did not even mention this and just said hes old and unwell and advised me to take him home, which I did not do and drove him straight here. He stayed in over night, I spoke with them after his admission and Sandra was excellent. I received a call from Sandra the following evening asking how he was and giving further advice. Although his diabetes is still not under control and I have had to call again tonight, I spoke to another lady who was just as kind, knowledgeable and understanding as Sandra. They seem to be open and honest, but show compassion and care, which is needed at these times and is much appreciated. Far out weighing the two previous vets my dogs have seen. I will post a pic when Bo is back to strength. Thank you for everything. I would definitely recommend.

I can't put into words how kind and caring the staff of Vets Now were! On arrival with our very sick dog Rogan we received the best care and attention you could possibly imagine. I would say these clever and caring people really do give their all. Unfortunately my Dad's dog was to ill to make the night, it was a very hard time, especially for my Mum and Dad but the amazing vet on duty explained everything in great detail to my stressed out Mum and Dad. Making sure poor Rogan never suffered, we stayed with him while they helped him pass. Thank you so much for your compassion and care given to us during this difficult time. Have needed to visit the emergency vet practice on three occasions now. Once for a rat who was chocking, once to hand over a cat sadly found at the side of the road outside our house after being hit and most recently when our hamster was in very poor health after a sudden illness. At all times, we were shown compassion and understanding, never once being made to feel like we were taking up their time. Our hamster was sadly put to sleep by the vet on duty but she was so caring about the matter it helped us in making our decision. Yes, it does usually have a hefty bill but this is a team of people running 24/7 to be there for when your pet needs them. My pets are my world so it's worth every penny to know they are OK and in safe hands.
