I would absolutely recommend Janet's classes. She is an amazing and intuitive teacher who brings to her classes not only an extensive knowledge of yoga, but also sensitivity and compassion with regards to the needs of her students. Over the couple of years that I have been attending Janet's classes, I have experienced such a positive change in my mind and body, and her work as a teacher has been a huge inspiration in my yoga journey.

Janet is a brilliant teacher. As a yoga beginner, I was nervous about what to expect. I've had private lessons with her and also been to a class. She adapted the private lessons to my needs and abilities, she was gentle and encouraging, and we developed a routine that I practice independently. The routine helps my recurring aches and pains and gives me some mental space. The room is clean, warm and comfortable, and the atmosphere (both in the individual lessons and in the class) was friendly and welcoming. I wish I could fit it into my schedule to go more often.

Janet's in-depth knowledge and understanding of the impacts of breath and movement on the human body - and her ability to share these - are phenomenal.
I have been a wary, occasional yoga class participant for years due to having scoliosis which has resulted in compromised spinal flexibility. I recently signed up for some one-to-one classes with Janet, as well as attending her group classes. I'd especially recommend one-to-one sessions with Janet to anyone who thinks that their body might be 'different', who is wary of doing particular moves or positions in yoga or is diffident about asking too many questions in a group class. I have found one-to-one sessions with Janet extremely valuable as they have given me confidence to take part in group classes (or yoga on my own) with far more intent.
Janet is teaching me to understand my own body, what it is capable of and how to best keep it supple and fit. Janet supports me in exploring my physical boundaries and is able to teach me alternative moves for any yoga positions that we find that I cannot practice. Orthopaedic consultants have advised yoga as one of the best practices for my spine. One-to-one classes with Janet have revolutionised what I can take from yoga practice specifically and have boosted my physical health in the longer term by teaching me how to be more wholly active with every breath I take.
I highly recommend Janet's classes - both group and one-to-one sessions.

I feel very fortunate to have found Janet and the style of yoga (Forrest) that she teaches so well. Over 3.5yrs later and I'm well and truly hooked.
Janet is an amazing teacher, encouraging you to go deeper, or offering gentler options when needed. She teaches with a relaxed and happy manner, showing great skill and knowledge in her craft. Highly recommended :)

I've been working with Janet for several months now and the experience is transformational. Janet has a true understanding of how the breath works to heal, and has an understanding of yoga as a way of healing the body and spirit. No duality here! Enjoyable, nourishing, supportive, practical. A definite investment in learning of yourself. We need a sixth star.

Leith Yoga is a great place. Room is not too big as well as the amount of people per class, which is very cosy and relaxing. Everyone is very kind, which is helpful when you are a yoga newbie like me. Definitely worth going!
