Reviews of Pointe Ahead Pilates

I’ve been attending classes at Point Ahead Pilates for about two years now, some classes were on line during lockdown, but I have been so impressed with the way I feel both physically and mentally, what a revaluation!! Theses reformer beds are amazing and Such knowledgeable Pilates instructors too.
Also with only a max 4 in our group classes, you are very well looked after. I highly recommend these classes.

Rachel has managed to tap into what I needed at the right pace and level of challenge to help me find deeper connection and strength. For me this isn’t just an exercise session, it helps me find focus, de-stress, revive and feel like the best version of myself.

many instructors with different styles of classes. I have a few favorites!

Rachel is an outstanding pilates teacher. Her knowledge of the body and how it works is exceptional and shows in how she is able to adapt exercises for each individual, even within a group class. She is so friendly and enthusiastic, making classes fun as well as challenging. She knows when to push you and when you should hold back. Her innate wisdom and passion shine through and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Rachel took over the teaching of our Pilates class about 18 months ago. A whirlwind of energy, enthusiasm and knowledge. She is obviously passionate and cares deeply about seeing each the class attendees progress at their own pace. If not for the pandemic we would have many more classes by now as the feedback has all been positive. Rachel has also been able to help me personally with a right shoulder pain that was hindering my overhead shoulder press. Thank you Rachel

Rachel (and Amanda!) is a dynamic, enthusiastic and knowledgable Pilates teacher, who provides both one to one and group sessions, in person and via Zoom. Simply put, the Pandemic has been made bearable with her regular classes - how can I recommend her better? Rachel is an irrepressible force of nature, and her classes are the highlights of the week to this working-from-home "Desk-Jockey". Its simply a delight to be in one of Rachel's classes! 11 out of 10!

I was lucky enough to discover Pointe Ahead studio just before we went into lockdown as their classes helped me stay active and mobile during months spent in lockdown.
Whether it was the lovely community spirit we have cultivated in online mat classes months via Zoom, or the in-person classes in their amazing space with fabulous equipment at Ruthland square, the experience was always top-notch.
I have hypermobile Ehlers Danloss syndrome and Rachel and Amanda went above and beyond to find ways for me to exercise safely, strengthen and challenge myself. Their classes are very limited in numbers of attendees, so I'm always sure I am getting enough attention from the teacher, which makes the whole experience even better.
I really could not recommend PAP enough - plus, if your lucky enough, you may book an in-studio class when the cutest resident puppy Neffie is present!

I came to Phil from a place of never having been able to sustain any exercise habit for more than a few weeks at a time, and wanting to learn how to do so on my own. Phil taught me, from the ground up, the technical know-how to do key exercises safely and effectively, how to think about incorporating more movement in my life, and healthier ways to relate to exercising. In a few months of training, my fitness, posture, and body awareness drastically improved (I now know where my limbs are without looking!). Phil also always managed to sense and help me identify when I was getting in my own way–physically and mentally–and always came up with creative new ways of working with me when I got stuck. In a few months of training, I learned an immense amount from Phil; I now approach exercise in a completely different way and am much happier for it. He is an amazing trainer, and I whole-heartedly recommend him to anybody wanting to improve on technique and relax into enjoying exercise!

I’ve been working out with Rachel for 5 years and gone from not being able to run for a bus to running a half marathon. Her excellent care, dedication and brilliance has allowed this to happen. She has got me through my first pregnancy with no divarication of the rectus muscles and no pelvic floor issues and will forever be remembered as the person who yells “abdominals” in my head when I lift my daughter.

Phil has amazing clarity in his instructions when dealing with an uncoordinated, over thinking elderly client. Love the improvement and feeling of achievement.

Trained with Phil for just under a year.
Very happy with results.
Found Phil to be highly knowledgeable, consultative and lead me to a better understanding of fitness.
