Reviews of The Space to Breathe Collective
V. A.
5 stars is not even enough to rate this yoga studio in the heart of Leicester! I belonged to the Space To Breathe community for 5 months and I enjoyed every single session in there.
All teachers are friendly, warm and very knowledgeable, making every class different and interesting. It is 8-10 of them so it is impossible to get bored and you always learn something new everyday you go to practice.
The facilities are fantastic, there are not many studios in the UK with such amazing light, making your practice even more special. You don't need to get any equipment beforehand, there is a vast availability of equipment to make your session easier and achievable for all yoga levels.
But the best thing of this place is the people, I felt welcomed from the first day and you always find someone new to talk to with a smile in the face. Proper energy booster!
I will miss this place and I wish all the best to the team. I promise to pay you a visit when I am visiting from Portsmouth!

Space to Breathe is a warm and welcoming place where you can practice yoga and get inspired by amazing people. Since joining the Collective, I have tried many different classes, which have improved my flexibility and helped with my recovery. I have also developed new tools for relaxation by learning more about breathwork, which is frequently integrated in the classes. However, the Collective is not just about yoga, as it is also a space where people share their passions and support each other. Members of the Collective welcome everyone with open arms and you can get to know us better during social events, such as movie nights, brunches, or a coffee after a class. We look forward to seeing you!

Well what can I say. I am a complete beginner to Yoga, and was quite nervous about attending a class. Thankfully I stumbled across 'The Space To Breath Collective' and have never looked back.
I was made to feel super welcome at their beautiful studio space. Not just by the Yoga teachers, but also the lovely people that attend.
It has a very much community feel to it, a lovely place to talk about yoga or just anything else going on in your life.
An absolute well deserved 5 Stars ✨ from me ❤️

This place is phenomenal. I walked in there with no experience of a yoga class but I was welcomed and I felt right at home instantly. For the first time in a while I have felt acceptance and that I’m part of something special, everybody really is wonderful there. It’s such a positive and helpful environment with so many different classes, all of which are unique and absolute quality. They describe themselves as a community and it’s not just a gimmick, it’s genuine. I’m just so happy that I found Space To Breath, with the yoga classes and the friends I’m making there, it’s the best discovery I’ve made for years.

Classes at The Space to Breathe are the highlight of my week. As a student, life can be very full on, and The Space to Breathe gives me a change to unwind and recharge. Other yoga classes I have been to have often felt like there was an expectation of natural ability. Here I feel comfortable to move at my own pace entirely free of judgement. The feeling of community and friendliness really makes the experience so special. I’m so grateful to have found this space. I have never met such a welcoming group of people.

The Space to Breathe Collective has been a life saver for me throughout lockdown. They have an amazing schedule of online and in person classes at their beautiful studio in Leicester City Centre.
There is a wide selection on different yoga types, some epic teachers, and a wonderful sense of community.
As Dave says, yoga is for everybody, so don’t be put off if you’re not flexy and fit. It’s about the journey, not the destination.

At The Space to Breath Collective, I have found just that. Space to Breath. They have a great selection of classes and times are available to suit all. Although I am a beginner (at nearly 50) I have never felt any pressure to try and be something that I am not. They offer great support and a community has developed that is warm, friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended. :) X

Beautiful light, airy yoga studio with really good selection of classes and styles of yoga, and different instructors for beginners to advanced yogis.
Everyone who teaches and attends the studio is really friendly and there is a great sense of community.
There are mats, bolsters and blocks provided as well as areas to leave belongings and a changing room.
There are also lots of different events to attend run by independent practitioners.
I'd really recommend this studio whether you're just starting yoga or have been doing it for years.

Being new to yoga I was initially weary about going to space to breathe but I soon found that it’s not just about yoga, it’s about community and feeling safe to let go. I now realise how much stress and tension I have been storing in the body and yoga has been a big step to feeling better. Not just that at Space to breathe there is a great atmosphere, very welcoming and a place that I would recommend if you want to work on you.

A great variety of yoga sessions in a light, calm and comfortable space. I've attended various classes with different teachers - all are professional, welcoming and friendly. A lovely vibe and energy. Suitable for all levels.

Space to Breath is much more than a yoga studio. its a community. there is village elders (aka the founders) and then there is countless inhibitors of the Village, which is the studio. some pass through, some are permanent residents, but all of them share a passion, for not just yoga, but life, wellness and, quite frankly happiness.
you don't get away with coming to class and leaving again, people will engage with you. and its always loving, warm and full of interest.
on a different note, great events and the classes are top grade, teachers are awesome. most likely you'll find exactly what you need in a class, even if you didn't know you needed it.

So pleased I got to finally visit after doing on line classes for nearly 2 years! The studio is lovely and peaceful and everyone is very welcoming. It is a very inclusive space. I did a Kundalini class followed by Yin Yoga. I enjoyed them and felt an increased energy and more positive mood afterwards. I would highly recommend giving it a try.

So glad to have found Space to Breathe - it has given my yoga practice a new lease of life. The studio is a fantastic space, the teachers are of high quality and with the flexibility and variety of classes, it fits so well into a busy lifestyle allowing some serious Space to Breathe - at last! Would recommend the 10 class pass for ease of booking flexibly and will be booking again lots more.

Where do I start. This place is everything I needed, It's light, it's airy, it's positive, it's non-intrusive. I had dabbled in a bit of yoga here and there over the years and unfortunately I never found a yoga school that really allowed me to connect and want to stay.
I then came across Space to Breath and I was quite apprehensive about giving it a go but I was seeking a studio that ran Kundalini Yoga classes in Leicester and in the end thought what have a I got to lose.
This was a one of the best decisions of 2021 - from that moment I stepped foot into the studio, I cannot explain how I felt, the energy, the togetherness, the calmness, the humbleness.
I am actively taking steps to continue on my Yoga journey and it has had such a positive impact on my physical and mental well being. The yoga teachers are fabulous, so calm, so knowledgeable, so engaging, there is never a feeling of being rushed, I have learnt so much and I am so excited about learning more.
If anyone is feeling anxious about starting yoga or is under the misconception that yoga is all about being super flexible and moving through poses at the speed of light then you are greatly mistaken and I would urge you to not let your fears put you off. Come and try it for yourself I am positive you will love it, regardless of age, background, ability.
A special thank you to Louisa, Dave, Geoff and my dear friend Aiden for introducing me to this truly magical and beautiful place, I am forever grateful x

S2B is the place to be in Leicester. It's the heart of the city, and I am so glad to be a part of it. Great variety of classes and a really welcoming, fun and caring community. Lots of other activities to get involved with including running. Love that it's a cooperative (with transparent monthly meetings open to the community) - I think this is what makes it unique.

The space to breathe collective has made me feel so welcome, anyone who goes along and tries yoga here will be made to feel welcome and treated as a true friend. The yoga is fantastic and you will leave feeling calm and relaxed.

This is simply an amazing space to practice yoga within a beautiful part of the city centre. There is a wide range of different classes to suit everyone. It’s such a welcoming and warm studio and the teachers are wonderful and professional. And it’s great that you can pay per class but the membership is a really good deal with unlimited yoga for only £50 a month. There is a real sense of community spirit here wish absolutely love. I’d recommend this studio to all.

It's not often you find a place so accepting with a genuine ethos at it's centre but this really shines through at Space to Breathe. With a varied class and workshop timetable from a wide community of teachers and practitioners, the collective is incredibly welcoming to all abilities with really fair pricing options. The studio is kitted out with props and mats making joining a class even more accessible and the location is right in the middle of the city centre. I highly recommend it to those that have never set foot in a yoga studio to those with years of experience alike!

The Space to Breathe Collective is a truly fantastic space to practice yoga. There are classes for all abilities and all classes are so inclusive. The space is truly wonderful, right in the centre of Leicester, in a historic building and lovely surroundings.
The Space to Breathe is different than other yoga studios, as it is a Collective, a not for profit organisation which encourages simply being a part of the yoga community in Leicester. This is what yoga truly is about. Teachers a amazing, experienced and professional. I totally recommend to all experienced yoga practitioners and those new to the practice as well ✌🏼💕

I found in the Collective the knowledge, professionalism and yoga spirit that I needed so that I find the courage to return to the practice.
I feel safe, guided and accepted, no matter how poorly or bold my practice is.
The variety in styles and timetable allows me to fit both work and classes in my daily schedule so I can build a good practice routine.
Also, did I mention the location?! 😊 It's so easy to get there from any side of the town, in a matter of minutes...
Great space, great classes, great people 🙏🏻 🌈 💗

Such a beautiful place to practise yoga! This place made me want to go back to live classes! The instructors are friendly and personable. I can’t wait to try the yin yoga class with Dave, classes are very reasonably priced as it’s a non profit collective. I can’t wait to go back.

The Space To Breathe is a beautiful space. The new studio is so light and airy but it is made what it is by the people / the collective (Dave, Fred et all) and the positive energy they bring to the classes and the studio. Great range of classes for all abilities with a vast timetable. Website is easy to use to pre-book classes.

Such an amazing space to do yoga in, as well as great teachers and really welcoming community feel. It's great to see people building something for the right reasons... not for profits. Looking forward to being part of the evolution... everyone needs a space to breathe now more than ever!
A. R.
The literal space is light with almost floor to ceiling windows along two sides of the room. I've met a few of the teachers and they are all welcoming, relaxed and emphasise adaptations to what is being taught depending on where each student is at. Everyone in the classes is friendly and newcomers are made to feel welcome.

What a beautiful space to practice yoga in - some spaces are special and the studio is certainly that. The work that has gone into making this space is phenomenal - so much thought to little details, it’s extraordinary. Practising at the space is a real treat for body and soul - can’t wait to try more teachers
