i was lucky enough to find this great community at the start of the first lockdown when my yoga class closed in Bournemouth , at a time when we were all missing out on so much Mathew and all the instructors made a huge effort to bring amazing classes via zoom into my home.
I can honestly say it was a life line and something i really enjoyed. The caring community Mathew and the others have created in this group is just fantastic especially if you are single. im not single but the guys just pull you into so much positivity that its lovely to have been part of this. The level of teaching and variety of classes is also very exciting and something for most who enjoy yoga.I still have not managed to get to a studio class but friends who have all say its a very happy place to be.
i have been doing yoga now 6 years and this is a very good setup with people who care that you enjoy the experience.

With an incredibly warm and sincere welcome, any fears or worries disappeared very quickly at my first session with Matthew.
The classes are small, which really helps to make the atmosphere chilled and friendly. With super clear instructions, positive support and encouragement, the classes are great for beginners as well as providing a ‘stretch’ for experienced yogis.

A sincere and genuine yoga community. I am so grateful to have stumbled across this set of yoga teachers lead by Matthew. My yoga has steadily improved over the last few months since I joined and that's mostly though just through online sessions. The in-studio sessions whether clothed or naked are great when I get a chance to come down to London on a weekend. I had the tremendous opportunity to take part in the Mens Yoga Retreat (Clothed) in Cornwall last week. The experience far exceed my expectations in all aspects from the yoga itself, the catering accommodation and the tremendous bunch of yogis I had the privilege to practice with. Highly recommended.

Matthew is a fabulous instructor and creates a warm, inclusive atmosphere. I feel physically supported and challenged in every session. The studio space is gorgeous and the people that practice there are diverse and very welcoming . It's more than just a yoga class - it's a real community!

Brewer Street Yoga is far more then a yoga and fitness studio, it’s a community in the heart of soho and beyond. Matthew and the rest of teachers are fantastic and as a complete novice, they have taught me so much while also making the classes work for people of all abilities. It’s a safe a inclusive space, where people care about each other and you can be yourself.

Been going to Matthew's classes at Brewer Street Yoga since July 2021 and strongly recommend it for anyone that wants to find a safe place to discover yoga, meet lovely people, and enjoy a great exercise. Regardless of your level and experience - this studio is amazing.

Friendly, professional, really well organised and always a great workout, whatever your level of ability. I first went to one of Matthew’s classes back when they were being run in Vauxhall and rediscovered them (online) during the first COVID lockdown. It’s great to see him grow his business and open up a studio in Brewer St, and take on more instructors too. Everyone is made to feel very welcome, which is exactly how it should be. A lot of thought has been put into the studio – down to things such as a professional camera/mic/tech setup for zoom classes (using skills from his previous career!) and sensible COVID measures for those attending in person. Looking forward to going on my first retreat later in the year!

As a yoga novice I joined the on line gentle yoga class recently. The class is relaxed, the instructions are clear and easy to follow. It is really easy to see Matthew (the instructor) and he positively encourages each participant to work at their own pace. Having gained some confidence I now also attend other BSY on line class. The added bonus is is that if I can't attend a class, it is available to follow 'on demand'. Highly recommended.

Brewer Street Yoga has been a lifeboat for me during confinement. Every online class I've taken has given me a renewed sense of self-connection PLUS that astonishing feeling that comes from being a part of this incredible community of like-minded men! It's really like a family (except, like... I'm excited to see them!)
Every single one of the teachers are top-notch, and even through the screen give a sense of attention and guidance that is so refreshing. I was quick to get the unlimited pass once I'd sampled their offering because logging on to practice with BSY has become a highlight of my day!

Such a wonderful place. Great range of classes for all levels and types of yoga. Friendly and unpretentious atmosphere, everyone feels included, accepted and supported. Also a good mix of regular and new students, no cliques here, everyone is made to feel welcome.
Also, so important, class sizes are carefully managed so that everyone can feel part of the class, have adjustments and guidance if they want to, this is not another "packed in like sardines" London yoga studio. It makes a huge difference to my experience compared to many other studios.
Whenever I'm in London I make a point of booking some classes to make sure I don't miss out.

BSY has become my primary yoga class provider on Zoom because of their excellent teachers, evening class times, and general approach to yoga - a wide variety of yoga styles to keep you engaged and wanting to stay involved. When you see the same classmates on different days and times and have post-class time to chat it all adds up to you feeling BSY is the right place to be to learn and be part of a fraternity of like-minded men.

Joined BSY via on line classes in November 2020 and from the outset I was made to feel very welcome by the host Matthew and teachers. There are a great variety of classes available for all levels and styles of yoga. Classes are well managed and tuitioned. Other yogis are friendly and it feels like a great community even on line. If you've ever thought of trying yoga or are a seasoned yogi don't hesitate to try Matthew's classes. The best thing I ever did.

The studio is super friendly and nice. The teachers are lovely. Very professional and I felt very good and safe practice yoga with them and with the other students.
Highly recommend! 🙂🙃

An outstandingly professional set up with friendly classes for all abilities. Now in our seventies we go for the Gentle Yoga class on a Wednesday morning and have found it fun and friendly with great teaching. It has really improved our balance, posture and spatial awareness. Highly recommended!

I discovered Matthew Gough wonderful Brewer Street Yoga Studio, via using the dry cleaners next door! So I feel it was meant to be. I have loved Yoga since I was a child. Matthews classes have a wonderfully inspiring atmosphere of commardarie and celebration of the dance of life that is yoga.
Despite having to deal with arthritis now I always feel marvellous after class and find myself very much looking forward to the next class. The highlight of my week.

This friendly studio has always made me feel welcome, even if I have been away for a few weeks - there is no judgement here! I have attended Matthew's classes for a few years now and enjoy his professional and clear teaching style, delivered with a friendly smile. I like that the studio offers a range of classes and so I can find something to suit my mood and my timetable, naked or clothed. It's definitely a place to try out!

Having joined Brewer Street Yoga 2 weeks before lockdown Mathews online classes have been a lifesaver to me. The virtual on line offering allowed me fall back in love with yoga and the variation of times made it easy find a time that suits.
Mathew is attentive and clear with his practice and has a combination of movements that allow us to go as far as want each time if we want to be pushed and a more gentle variation of needed.
The studio is now back open so I am enjoying live classes and the social after as well as online so now have the best of both worlds, really grateful to both Mathew & Andrea for the warm welcome and guidance.

Mathew holds a great space for yoga where you can feel confident of being cared for and challenged. He gives great instructions and excellent demonstrations. He gives great alternatives for different levels of skills and maintains good feedback for participants.
This is enhanced in the studio in Brewer Street which is very conducive to concentration and peace in the midst of Soho. It has been designed well and has air conditioning and a changing room. Sadly no shower facilities but that has never deterred me or anyone I know.
It has been adapted to a safe space to enjoy in person yoga in the current Covid-19 environment.
I also enjoy the friendship that Matthew engenders in his classes and the participants. He usually suggests beverages after the class to encourage this camaraderie

Brewer street yoga is more than Yoga! When I started yoga with Matthew, I discovered an excellent teacher. Needless to say that his level of practice is high, his ability to explain how to set a pose and move smoothly from a pose to another puts you in a relaxing although demanding flow! His crew of yoga teachers stands at the same excellent standard.
BSY offers a large range slots that allow to find a space in our busy weeks. At this particular time when it counts more than ever, the premises are really clean and safe. They meet all the guidance.
Taking a yoga session at BSY will lead you to join an incredibly funny open minded inclusive community where you will feel welcomed and valued for who you are.
It’s been more than a year and half now since I joined my first session with Matthew and it’s been definitely one of the musts of my london life experience.
I am really grateful to Matthew, Craig, Andrea and Stefan for having been such excellent teachers.

I only started yoga recently and have really enjoyed the classes and course I've done with Matthew, Stefan and the other teachers. The atmosphere is relaxed, fun and inclusive. The teachers always explain things clearly and often give different options so you can choose whatever you're most comfortable with. Strongly recommended, and there's a great range of classes.

Yesterday I went to my first class at the Brewer Street Yoga Studio and immediately felt very welcomed and relaxed in that environment.
The studio is great and super clean, easy to find.
Both Matthew and Antonio are fantastic
The class was perfect for both beginners and advanced and I left having learned some very good new postures and techniques.
I definitely recommend this place to everyone:
It’s a safe space where you can feel the love
I look forward to my next class xx

Mathew and his associates have an impressive following of men from all over London, Norfolk and other parts of Britain. Indeed guys from all over the world frequently find out about these classes and join in when visiting London, which makes the classes sociable and great fun. There are a few mixed classes but everyone feels welcomed and supported, whatever their competence in yoga or none. His new studio is clean, light and spacious, especially compared to the many venues across London where he and his colleagues have been teaching. The standard of teaching is excellent, which accounts for the loyal following and length of time many of us have been enjoying these highly recommended yoga classes, which are now all conveniently concentrated in the heart of Soho in Brewer Street.

This is an awesome yoga studio!! I know Matthias, Craig and Andrea from various classes they taught elsewhere before the opening of this place. They are all fabulous and special - I rarely have found yoga classes elsewhere where the teacher is so precise in technique to ensure the desired effects, demanding enough that in each session one stretches one's limits, and at the same time so personal and motivating. And they are so relaxed - punctuality is encouraged but your head isn't torn off if you run a few minutes late, and you're always encouraged to adjust your practice to your needs.
The studio itself is beautiful (all white!) and rather huge by London standards, in a perfect location. Class difficulty levels do vary, so chat with them which classes fit your level. The naked classes are the best - it feels so natural that you wonder who had the idea to try yoga while constrained by clothing! ;) So all in all, in my humble opinion this is the best yoga option in London, especially for gay men!

I’ve been to several class at Brewer Street Yoga and thoroughly enjoyed them all. Matthew is extremely welcoming and friendly. There’s a great selection of classes available and during class I feel challenged and I look forward to continuing my yoga journey with Brewer St Yoga

I have always been curious about yoga but have been too self conscious to just turn up for a class. Matthew and Stefan's two day introductory course was just perfect. From the time I arrived I felt totally at ease and welcome.and I really enjoyed the sessions. It is the perfect way to get into yoga if like me you are curious but slightly shy. Go for it!

This place is great for lots of reasons. Firstly, it offers a really diverse programme of classes all week. I had a really bad experience of sport and exercise at school and that’s scarred me as an adult; I’ve found it really unenjoyable and uncomfortable as an adult. However, the team here are so friendly that I’ve felt really comfortable in classes and supported in my yoga journey.
I’m really inflexible and I’ve found some yoga classes in the past to be really intimidating. I feel the total opposite at Brewer St Yoga, Matthew must be the nicest man in the yoga world! The location is super central which is really handy. The room is calm and really clean too.
You can buy lessons individually or I save money by bulk-booking a ‘book’ of 10 which saves some money.

Matthew welcomes me to the London yoga scene when I moved here a couple years ago. His style is welcoming, approachable and inspirational. He partners with a group of outstanding instructors to lead a host of different classes. I always enjoy practicing yoga with Matthew.

I have been a regular yoga student at Brewer street yoga since January now.
I have been trying several other places and teachers before, but as soon as I tried Brewer street yoga, I knew it was THE place I was looking for. The teachers are extremely professional, always available to answer any questions and share their experiences and tips, and they have been really supportive during the lockdown. The studio is absolutely lovely, clean, safe and well located in Soho, easy to reach. The diversity of classes and the possibility to attend them online and in the studio is a big plus. And the lovely community of yogis, always happy to chat and exchange on the WhatsApp group or going for a drink after the class is something that I m really happy to be a part of.
Thank you and see you on the mat!

Does exactly what it says on the tin! - Great men’s yoga classes taught by great male teachers.
As a new yogi I was apprehensive, but Matthew and Andrea (owner and teacher) put me at ease instantly and everyone else was super welcoming also - I have already recommended to friends after my first two classes!

Matthew was an excellent instructor: down to earth and engaging without taking things too seriously. With a small class size he was able to spend time correcting postures and always called out common slips at exactly the right moments to help you self correct. He was also really good at recommending pose variations that might work best for men, which I really appreciated. The Tuesday class was mostly held poses with a flow sequence section towards the end. It was a tough class but accessible to anyone. I was impressed!

Mathew has been a constant friend, mentor and inspiration since i began my Yoga journey. I have been made to feel so welcome by Mathew and the rest of his Yogi's who are now also friends. As a Yoga teacher myself, i look for inspiration and to gain knowledge, Mathew has so much to offer and is the one to be like.

Matthew introduced me to yoga a few years ago when he himself had just completed his training. I’ve been fortunate to follow his path to this latest stage and am delighted that he has opened this studio. He is incredibly supportive and encouraging and his studio reflects his ethos.

I have attended the Monday evening Kundalini yoga a couple of times now and it is amazing! It is an uplifting blend of spiritual and physical practices that leaves one feeling energized and relaxed at the same time. Brewer Street Yoga studio is an oasis of quiet in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Soho.

Matthew and his equally inspirational colleagues provide yoga for all abilities, challenging, relaxed and friendly as always and now based in the accessible central location of soho, in a beautiful, newly renovated, small-class space. So many new yoga options. Love it. Go, you will too.

I've known Matthew for about a year now and he is an incredibly caring and understanding instructor. The studio is light and airy and will soon become the go-to place for gay-friendly yoga!

My first time at this venue yesterday - it only opened at the weekend - and I was not disappointed. The walls are a lovely gleaming white, and there's a very good little changing room and somewhere to store all your stuff (very important as winter approaches). There are tasteful dimmable spotlights around the space and enough plug sockets for everyone to charge their iPhones! The yoga space itself is very bright and cheery, the white walls being complemented by perfect white blinds covering the many windows that adorn the place. There's also a small kitchen area to fill up your water bottles and somewhere to leave your dirty shoes just before you enter the studio. I hear there are going to be a number of teachers here at Brewer Street Yoga, and I look forward to trying them all.
