Reviews of Fierce Grace Hot Yoga - City

One of my favourite hot yoga studios in London! Very spacious studio, great instructors and the classes are amazing! The changing rooms aren’t as nice as some other more modern boutique studios but everything else is great. They also provide free herbal tea in the seating area which is such a nice touch. Love Fierce Grace classes!

I love it here, the staff, the setting, the location just a few mins walk from Old Street tube good class variations and at different times. Teachers also varied, diverse, highly skilled and kind!

This is the best yoga studio I’ve ever been to - feel totally comfortable there (no judgements) and challenged in a really positive way by the instructors. Also a good full body workout! I’m only reticent to recommend because the classes do get very full sometimes... but if you can go off peak it’s really chilled

I did a month at Fierce City and it was, on the whole, lovely. A few things about it, in case they are useful for others thinking about joining - mainly very positive, a few less-positive points at the end.
* It smells really nice.
* Everyone is super-friendly and welcoming.
* I overheard some of the teachers in the changing room talking about how lovely it was to work for Fierce (which I think speaks v well of them in many ways).
* Their branding is so good, really suggesting diversity and inclusivity, and in my experience, that was totally reflected in the studio itself.
* If you've never done hot yoga (or even any/ much yoga at all) before they will be lovely and you will be fine and looked after.
* There were a real mix of people in the classes - it really wasn't one of those yoga for skinny white posh girls spaces. I think a lot of people would feel really comfortable there.
* As someone with stiff hips, I loved the chance to focus on them in the deep core class.
* The studio is quite pretty - with fairy lights and a lovely mural of mountains on one side (and a wall of mirrors for those who want to check their alignment).
* It's hot, and it's a wet heat, so expect to drip loads, and come out soaking and in need of a shower.
* Tip: take your pot of coconut oil into the class with you, and it'll be all melted and soft when you want it after the shower.
* The changing rooms are small, but rarely really-annoyingly so (I would imagine that in peak times like January it might be though).
* I never had to wait for a shower.
* The dark class was really cool in many ways, but I wouldn't suggest going until you've done a few other deep core classes and know the sequence, otherwise you could be really lost (and even hurt yourself).
* The teachers tended towards a style of standing at the front and just leading you through things, rather than explaining each pose and giving individual guidance. I guess that's just the style for large-class hot yoga though, and you do easily pick things up from the other people around you. Also, the teachers varied, some were *amazing* at giving loads of individual support, even in a really busy class.
* There aren't many lockers, and most of the ones they have a really small (just for small valuables). It was generally ok because you could always take small valuables into the class. Still, if you have to regularly carry a laptop with you, and so need somewhere secure to leave it during the class, this isn't the studio for you.
* They often run one class closely after another. This meant there was extra crowding in the changing rooms, as there were two classes worth of people using the space (and lockers). It also meant they didn't clean the studio between classes, which considering how much everyone sweats, is really, really gross. I think this was the only real bad thing about Fierce though.

I love the classes at Fierce Grace City – the instructors are great, lots of class times to choose from and easy to book online, and the facilities are nice and well maintained. Teachers are friendly and knowledgeable and I always leave class feeling more energised than when I started. Also love the music they play in many of the classes – very motivating!

I have been going to this studio for only a month now, but I thought I'd write a review as I found some old ones on Foursquare and other websites- they say the studio is old, the carpet smells...They seem to have revamped it- actually, redone completely in the last few months. I signed up because it looked and smelled new and immaculate, concrete floors, nice polished wood in the actual bikram chamber and plenty of space.
The teachers also man the reception before and after class, which means they're (mostly) available if you have questions about the postures, or want to discuss how to work around an injury.
Being a yoga novice, I can't and won't judge on the quality of the teaching. The studio itself is clean, there are enough lockers (free) and showers and space in the changing rooms. Towels and water are £1.20 each at reception if you've forgot your or don't want to bring it. They have a very good introductory offer for newbies (£35 for a month- unlimited) then it becomes rather expensive but this seems to be the case with bikram in general.

The best hot yoga studio in London, there’s a very special culture here and the teachers are amazing. Emma’s Wednesday evening FG class is inspiring, and she has the nicest voice - please don’t ever give up teaching yoga, you’re so great at it!

Great teachers and vibe. Doesn't smell like sweat. I like that more than bikram is on offer and instructors don't use the bikram script. Typical London studio basement location with no windows and small shower space. Despite this I rate it five stars. The studio is cozy and I keep coming back.

I have joined their City Studio four years ago when it still used to be Bikram. It was one of the Groupon special offers, but unfortunately, there were nothing special about it. Two years ago when I have decided to rejoin them again, it happened to be at the time of a big re-branding - Bikram was no longer relevant and they were introducing their new 5 class hot yoga - Fierce Grace. I will not lie, it took me ages to get into it. I have quit and rejoined several times, did 30 day challenge, did a few double classes etc., but the benefits are endless (watch a few videos online). All teachers are amazing, plus cause they are expanding internationally, they keep training new students, so there is a good flow of people. One of the perks is that there are many celebrities are coming to their classes. Don't worry, you will not probably be able to recognize them thanks to all the sweat! :) See you in the class!

Great intro to hot yoga - challenging but I came out feeling absolutely fantastic!

The studio is lovely, instructors brilliant, I have been to a lot of yoga studios in London and the staff working here are some of the friendliest.
Great Yoga, Great Team!

Classes are good, but lacking in facilities. The showers are communal, I mean how basic can one get? It's just not appropriate to shower with people so close to you. Sorry! Otherwise the classes were OK, but as other people said they need to clean the classrooms after each class.

The style of yoga here is the ideal mix of bikram poses and heat with some of the flowing and breathing elements that make vinyasa practices great. I practiced at this studio while visiting London, and I hope one day fierce grace makes it to a city I live in!

A very enjoyable yoga experience - Do expect a hard working, sweaty session with excellent instruction - there are some very experienced instructors here.

Great class! Took the classic. Similar to Bikram with interesting and challenging variations. Clean facility, helpful and accommodating receptionist. Felt invigorated, re-energized after class.

I absolutely love this yoga studio. The practice room is massive, the staff are lovely and the classes always leave me with a bit of zen!

Great place to drop in. I'm in London for business and found this to be a friendly, clean, and convenient place to work out. We did a routine that was similar -but different -to a Bikram series. Come visit!

Love this studio been going for a long time , my only gripe is people bringing bikes into the changing room its disgusting especially as there are plenty places outside to chain bikes to
M. H.
Not cheap but excellent facilities and variety of hot yoga. Efficient booking system. Much more relaxed than bikram.

Because I love the studio and the classes. Sometimes the temperature could be hotter/more consistent but I love coming here.

Friendly studio with great facilities, they've got me back into hot yoga and enjoying it again. A *
