I haven't come across a better Pilates studio and I've been to probably 30 different ones. I had a herniated disc at 33 years old, despite already doing Pilates and Swimming. Thankfully I didn't need surgery, and surgery often only fixes the symptoms or resulting damage, not the root cause- likely some complex muscle imbalances due to desk posture, etc. For issues like this the only thing that will solve the root cause is exercise with education for correct technique and hands-on feedback and adjustments. It can be very frustrating exercising thinking you're solving the problem when you might be doing it at just the wrong angle or speed, or engaging the wrong muscle to actually help. We each have specific limitations and muscle imbalances which need tailored feedback from highly educated, knowledgeable as well as personable teachers. You will get personal attention and feedback at this studio unlike bigger more expensive places like triyoga which can have 40 people in a class, all dressed head to toe in lulu lemon. This studio doesn’t have a cafe serving kale crisps with a rack of £100 leggings in the waiting room, but this is real physio type healing. Don't get me wrong we all love a fancy legging, but I'd rather my teachers be more interested in my rehab than how many trendy ppl they can cram in a class. These teachers are as knowledgeable as my £70/30min physiotherapist on Harley street. The classes are small so they can give individual attention and answer questions. There is no better studio to rehab an injury. If you're looking for faster paced aerobic Pilates they also offer that, even within the same class as it's tailored to a variety of levels all flexible within one class. The classes are always varied, interesting and fun.
I find meditation difficult, but Sasha's end of class breathing exercises are just wonderful! She could be on the Calm app. From her I learned to use breathing to release muscles that were still tight after class.
I owe a lot to the teachers at this studio. Living in pain is awful and they have helped me. Thank you!
There are also physiotherapists, osteopaths, ballet classes, etc in the same Kentish Town Studio building.

Monika is superb as a Pilates teacher. She is watchful and caring in designing the Pilates moves suited to individuals' bodies and conditions. I've been going to her studio for many years. PilatesTree now has matwork classes online. Highly recommend.

Monika and her team have struck the perfect balance - the teaching at PilatesTree is supremely professional yet warm and personal at the same time. I have been a Pilates student for many years at some of the best studios in London but my experience here is by far the best!

It's been a joy learning Pilates with Monika, Sasha, and Sian over the last year or so. They are so friendly, welcoming, talented and perceptive and I can't recommend their work highly enough. I started out with them as a fat middle-aged man with a pronounced stoop and, while I still have the fat and can't do a lot about the age, quite a bit of the stoop has gone and crucially I feel so much better inside and out. Thanks to everyone at Pilates Tree - you've changed my life and I come away from every session feeling revitalised.
