Reviews of Psycle Mortimer Street
G. B.
Great gym! The trainers are very helpful and keep you motivated by calling your name out in the classes. Excellent facilities, perfect for getting ready for work after a good sweat session. Only downside would be the size of the rooms, quite small and seems pretty crowded when the class is full.
T.
Suze delivered a great Flow 60 last night. My first time at Psycle and is definitely come back. Clearly a popular venue, the changing room is the worst part, navigating all the people frantically getting ready for class or getting ready to leave but other than that the studio was lovely and the class was brilliant. Super star staff and clean premises.
A. I.
The classes are difficult but fun. Aanya and Courtlyn are very good instructors. I was surprised how many people in each class can keep up with the beat on the fast songs. Psycle is full of impressive spinners. The 3-class intro pack was perfect for my 10-day visit from the States.
B. F.
The instructors have great energy and are very motivating. The facilities are very clean and the locker rooms are very nice. Extra amenities like hair dryers, cotton products, etc. are provided. The music can be loud (which is either good or bad depending on your preference), so they also offer free ear plugs at the front desk. The classes are offered on different floors and there's a lot of stairs in you're on the top studio!
R. T.
Amazing spin class, such a good work out. I used to go to 1Rebel and Psycle is 10x better. Much better bikes, shoes and customer service.
J. M.
The best barre classes on earth, fact. Maria has put together an excellent team, and I love love love their classes. Highly recommend.

Just had to post a review after my class with josh this morning.
The playlist was absolutely banging, little bit old school which I like but nearly all tunes u knew so could sing along to.
I was on the front row next to an amazing girl and we were just having the best fun, was literally like a night out but with an extra bucket of sweat thrown in !
I teach classes so have taught and been to hundreds of various different classes throughout the years and this one was right up there ! There was only like 12 or so of us in there but the room was on fire 🔥
I’ve also been to louis’s classes which are just as good, just for some reason found the music easier to follow today (although that might have been my riding buddy !)
Well done team, overall an amazing experience which makes pcycle not like any other ‘spin class’ 👏

Love this place so much- the instructors are amazing. Super high energy, and fun classes! Have been going to psycle for a few years now, and I love what the classes do for me; always challenging (without being competitive) and allowing me to push myself further. It’s been great for my strengths and endurance. Lovely community as well. Highly recommend!

Today was my very first class at Psycle and it definitely won't be my last😍
I did a class with Wolf. He was energetic, funny and was very welcoming when he knew that that was my first time❤️
Staff at the reception area was also super friendly and helpful❤️
G. K.
I spin at Psycle a lot. I recently went to Kristina's class at Mortimer street. It was amazing. She was a breath of fresh air. Quite a lot of the time the classes are pretty predictable but hers kept me on my toes. thanks xx

Psycle is my favourite part about living in London. Such a unique and fun atmosphere with the best instructors around. I look forward to coming here every week, for the past 2 years.
I love the variety of classes and music to suit everyone. After going go many spin classes around the world, this place takes it to another level!
v. m.
Loveeee psycle ! I miss riding in person loving the at home workouts ! Also i miss my post workout smoothies the most . Cant wait to visit in person
R. R.
I’ve attend a number of spin studios in other countries but Psycle is #1. The class format, extremely engaged instructors and music selection is incredible. The instructors are really in touch with the classes. I’m also massively impressed with the quality of the changing rooms and amenities like great showers, hairdryers, flat irons, etc. I’m always forgetting an elastic and they even have some. All top notch!
I was incredibly impressed with hitting the 5th class and getting smoothie...what an amazing, and unexpected, touch. Speaking of which, before you leave it’s definitely worth visiting the smoothie bar....so, so tasty.
P. L.
A great exercise concept. Whilst there are Barre & Yoga classes available at the studio I mainly stick to spin. There are lots of choice of classes at different times to suit your schedule. I find the instructors motivating and of course because of the choice you will find the ones that you enjoy their classes the most. Also the front of house staff are always great as well. Bottom line a great place to exercise and get your sweat on.

I visited Psycle on a trip to London. I bought one credit online for £20. This is a high end experience and everything is provided for you to make the visit seamless. No need to bring your spin shoes, towels or toiletries etc. I visited Mortimer Street. The quality of instructors there is outstanding. I was made very welcome at the beginning of the class and everything was explained and help was on hand for anyone who needed help setting up the bike etc. The class works as a pack with everybody committing to do the same thing at the same time all motivated by the instructor. It was a welcome change to not have some people wading through treacle during the sprint track etc. Had one track with weights which i guess is a U.S. import but i guess some people like that. Overall i was buzzing throughout the class and had an excellent workout which pushed my limits. The atmosphere was fab. At the end of the class a team of staff come in and give the whole place a good clean. The only thing that impacted my experience was the temperature was very hot in the studio and found it very hard to cool down, even after my lovely shower. I tried a lovely smoothie after at the energy kitchen which was like a meal. Great for busy people who want to be healthy on the run
E. M.
My favorite spin studio in London. Pretty much spend all of my paycheck here and never regret it. Great instructors (AD and Cescie are my faves)! 🚴🏼♀️🚴🏼♂️ Absolutely banging music! 🎶 Small but chic washrooms. 🛁 Friendly staff. 😃 10/10 would recommend.
A. J.
Tougher, and better (in my opinion) than Soul Cycle. Music is more to European tastes, less new age and more about just having fun and a great workout. The Mortimer St site is great, even in COVID times. Good showers, a juice bar, friendly staff.
T. O.
Amazingly great instructor guide you to next level and great please to get beautiful energy,
Highly recommend to go there if you are stacked

Moved to London a year ago and was looking for a spin studio. Fell in love with Psycle immediately! It was instantly my home away from home. Studios and facilities are impeccably clean, spin classes and Instructors are so much fun and a great workout. I always leave the studio feeling AWESOME!
A. V.
This review is based on the classes that Psycle have been running on Instagram, not on the studio experience itself. I wanted to say a big, big thank you to the entire team because I think that what they do it absolutely incredible! I have loved the variety of classes and the quality of instruction - they have a highly skilled team who always keep things fun and motivatational. Definitely going to make en effort to do some classes at the studio itself once I have a chance to get to London :) thank you again for contributing to so many people's physical and mental health during these challenging times.

Put bluntly I felt brilliant that I'd spent my Friday evening at Psycle, in my first ever spin class - something I wouldn't have expected to say. I came away feeling energised and excited for the weekend, and I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to get fit and have fun too.
I enjoy casual cycling (to work, on a fixie...) and so was rather nervous to be handed a pair of Specialized clip-in shoes, however I needn't have worried. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the class was hard enough that you could feel the burn but not too hard that the need to give up became apparent.
The Psycle team had paid great thought to every detail of the spin experience. The place itself is beautifully designed with a small cycle shop, smoothies and healthy snacks, and shower rooms with organic toiletries, ethical hair towels and hair dryers. The lockers were free and easy to use, and they even offered up hair bands and grips in the ladies'.
Inside the class, each bike came prepared with a face towel, bottle of water and three choices of weights. The Studio is incredibly cool, with music and lighting integral to the mixed workout of legs, arms and abs.
Altogether a really energetic, fun spin class in a great environment. So much so I'll definitely be coming back, especially on a Friday night!
M. C.
By far the BEST spin classes in London - I always come out dripping in sweat and feeling like I've had the best workout yet! The instructors are awesome, always have bangin' playlists, and know how to push you. Highly recommended!
T. S.
Good instructors especially Kevin. However they have started ripping people off with new cancellation policy. They basically sell the same bike twice and don’t give you the refund. I’ve now boycotted them after 200 rides as I don’t like getting ripped off. treat customers fairly or they will walk
C.
Superb location. Instructor was very motivating. Reason for 3 stars is because this place is incredibly culty, and beginners will not feel welcome (for the difficulty and atmosphere of the class). Reception staff are unfriendly (a "how are you today" from me was met by "fine what did you book for"). Studio 1 for the Ride class was very busy but there was no excuse for the ventilation to be SO poor - it should've been built for a full room of sweaty people. Riders had to ask the instructor to turn on the AC and even so during the ride she went over multiple times to tweak (???) the AC/ventilation. I get that it's meant to be a sweaty workout but seems like they just control it to get the room steamy so people feel like they really got a sweat on at the end.
S. B. M.
It's expensive, but it's great fun! Staff are very friendly, the instructors differ quite a lot so try a few and stick with the ones you like. Be sure to be quick when the booking opens as classes fill up fast. Best cardio in London, and certainly the most enjoyable!
D. W.
I freakin love this place! Every single instructor has a long list of life achievements (unreal bios!), they are all super nice but with the right amount of pushing you to motivate everyone to work hard every minute of every class! The beats are amazing without fail! I’ve been to many different spin classes over the last 10+ years in Canada and London and this place is next level!
A. A.
Excellent spinning classes. Loud music, lots of energy, lots of intensity. Minimum commitment, pay as you go model. They provide cycling shoes, free lockers, a towel on your bike and towels and shower gel in the changing rooms. And a bar for smoothies after your class. Yoga and barre classes also available
A.
Best spin studio I've ever been to. Facilities are top notch as are the staff. Would recommend Sal's Friday morning class and Zoe's Saturday morning class specifically (both at Mortimer Street), both a great a workout and playlists too, but every class is great, I've done a variety. Towels, shoes, soap, deodorant, etc.. are provided.
S. A.
Mixed feelings. Great use of the building space and lovely kitchen. Some classes are excellent, others are ...meh. Long line for showers in the morning. No proper cleaning of the spin shoes. Some really nice staff and some that come off as bossy/unhelpful. Have purchased more credits so it's possible I will review my score as I take more classes.
G. S.
If I lived in London, this word be my gym! Front desk cool calm and collective. Went in another noon, pretty busy. Had a great class today with Ryan. So motivating, patient, and helpful to everyone in the class. Highly recommended
R. S.
One of the best studios in London, really like the flexibility of being able to get your credit back if u have to cancel last minute. Wolf is probably one of the best instructors at psycle.
The changing rooms, showers, facilities, all amazing ... love psycle
D. L.
I went to mais class and literally cried not from sadness but it was just such a great release, beautiful beautiful soul with great movement
J. C.
I have been going to Psycle for almost 3 years. I think it is a wonderful place. For me it's the instructors that do it - they are nothing short of world class. They challenge and motivate you in the most positive way possible. Any negative reviews you might have seen are petty complaints in my opinion. Honestly, try it, you'll be addicted in no time.
L. W.
Seriously the Best spin studio in london!! Aanya and Marion’s classes will kill you but are super fun. But honestly Regardless of who the instructor is the classes are top notch. The changing rooms are a little busy but they have everything you could possibly need.
K. G.
Fun workout class. Any New Yorkers will be familiar with the format as it emulates Soul Cycle. No membership needed, so useful if you are in the area (business / holiday) and fancy a fun workout. Shoes, towels, hair dryers, premium shower gel, shampoo are all provided, just bring socks, shorts, top.
The workout is fun which get a regular crowd, however not a hard session. Heat is cranked up so you sweat a lot. If you are after something specific as maybe a cyclist, runner, weightlifter, then this is not it.
Spin cadence is high and press-ups on the bike are of course not very effective. If you want something specific, better find somewhere with better bikes, wattbikes etc. The few times I have been, bikes were basic, no cadence or power info. For the price of a class, a wattbike would be nice.
I've been a few times and the crowd has always been quite trendy, so maybe bring your better gym kit. Despite that, I have felt it as pretentious, it's always been inviting and friendly.
If they could improve anything, I would say juice bar price reduction given the class price. Also trainers might introduce the workout, so you know what is coming, for example, warm up, followed by 8 hard, short intervals, short rest etc, cooldown.
R. K.
Pretty good Soul Cycle like work-out. Facility is well kept. Staff very friendly. Instructor led a good class. Only complaint was room lacked good ventilation and felt a bit cramped. All in all a good go for a yank on a holiday.
L. P.
I am 25 rides in at Mortimer St and completely hooked. Friendly staff, fantastic facilities, great teachers... My only comments would be that the locker rooms are always busy and there isn't enough space to change comfortably. Also, the spin rooms tend to get too hot. I would still highly recommend the experience though.
S. M.
Really pumping super high energy and very fun posh spinning. Made me feel like I was in a gay club in the middle of the day - but glued to a bike. Great for a mad bit of exercise. Super facilities to freshen you up afterwards.
R.
Really fun workout, great facilities (there is nice shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, hair dryers, towels - everything you need). It can get too hot in the room so be prepared. For those familiar with the US, it's pretty much an exact replica of soul cycle.
D. J. G.
Wow. Perfect work out, great instructors and feels like a real "collective" for spin enthusiasts. If you are a fan of Soul Cycle in the US, you won't be disappointed, Psycle is an absolutely worthy competitor. Not cheap, but totally worth the money.
S. D.
Attending the 'Guinea pig' class at any fitness studio is always a little risky, but I found myself leaving Psycle on Friday night energised and ready for the weekend having attended a well executed, challenging class.
As a runner, spinning is somewhat terrifying for me and I was more than dubious about the specialised shoes. My fears turned out to be unfounded, as the staff were incredibly helpful and even assisted me onto the bike where a water bottle, weights and a towel were already waiting for me.
The studio itself is beautiful and stocks a small range of sportswear and premium toiletries, as well as serving a range of healthy snacks and juices. This place is a must-visit for fitness addicts who want to try the next new thing.
A. D.
Great for spin addicts. A slice of SoCal SoulCycle in London, complete with branded athletic wear and superloud Americans! The classes include shoes, towels and bottled water, and there are several showers. A nice extra is the option to get a juice ordered for pickup after class. Instructors are great, excellent music selection, however the classes suffer from the universal spin class problem of diehard attendees in the front. Those who may need more instruction or who are just new are left to fend for themselves in the back rows, and the instructor just can't get past the few first bikes to help those who may need it most- this may increase the likelihood of injury for newbies. Recommended for intermediate and advanced fitness class sportytypes primarily for this layout reason.
A. C.
Tried psycle for the first time last week with a friend. The entrance is super clinical but kind of suits the place. I thought I'd feel uncomfortable but the staff were friendly when I signed in. The changing rooms were nice and clean and the general facilities were more than I had expected. The class instructor was so peppy that I felt uncomfortable to begin with and it was all a bit 'mind, body, soul'-ish for me. By the end of the class, I was so knackered that I had completely given in to the entire premise. There are 'set moves' that were tricky to pick up as I am not particularly well coordinated and I had to learn by watching others. You do really feel like you have accomplished something after though.
L. N.
Great energy and very fun. Will definitely be coming back!
L. W.
Went to one of their pre-opening classes. Good facilities such as clean and free cycling shoes. Beautiful studio. Workout was pretty good, although not life-changing or incredibly exceptional as promised. Psycle London is trying to ride the SoulCycle fitness wave, but really, it was just a better-than-average spinning class with some cool gizmos.
AND, each class costs £20! Even if you buy classes in bulk, that's still £16.75 per class!! Compared to a good gym membership of £60 - £80, with unlimited classes and access to the gym floor, paying £20 per class is pretty steep for a once-a-week class. Basically, going once a week to Psycle London would pretty much double my overall health/ gym spend. I can't afford both gym membership and Psycle London, let alone all the other classes like Pilates, etc. The class was not amazing or fabulous enough to warrant £20 per class, especially when there is a decent substitute at my local gym.
V. M.
Great instructors, great atmosphere. Not your average spinning class. Music is on point so it feels like you're just having fun.
J. W. H.
Before visiting London, I found Psycle on Yelp. When I arrived, I was warmly greeted, and received the utmost of service and absolutely loved my experience with Psycle. I rode first with Rhian, who is a powerhouse with excellent song choice, and really pushed me past my comfort zone. Next, I took a class with Sal, who integrated Christmas music, house, and soul in a way I did not know was possible. There is individualized attention, they fit your bike to the T, the place is spotless, and has a wonderful energy. Perhaps the biggest delight was Becky, she was so kind and gave me loads of recommendations for healthy food, juice bars, and simply sharing her insights of London. I will be back to Psycle, mark my words! Thank you for jump starting my holiday and New Year, Cheers.
L. A.
The staff are all so friendly, the instructors are amazing, they push you to your limits with all that team energy and power! Definitely the best cycling classes in London.
R. B.
If you haven't tried spin before I thoroughly recommend giving it a go! I've got a few favourite instructors (Alana, Kaya, Sinead to name a few) so defo sign up for their introductory offer and give it a go. I only intended to go for a couple sessions and now I'm hooked...
A. S.
Probably the most expensive exercise class in London, but definitely the best exercise class in London. I save up so I can visit : )
L. S.
I loooooooove this place. Can’t stress the quality of the trainers, friendliness of the staff, cleanness of the place and overall the awesomeness of Psycle. They make me want to jump from bed and run to their high energy classes that burst with incredibly fun music - and I’m not even a morning person! A little bit pricey but they are so incredibly good that zi can’t even say it’s over priced. Well done Psycle!!
M. R.
The spin class I took was good. The instructor was engaging and the music was good. The facilities were clean and overall service was good.
V. B.
Super fun Saturday morning spin
M. M.
What a smashing place! The classes are out of this world! I actually hated spinning before I came here and this changed my life! The smoothies, even though a tad overpriced are absolutely delicious and so tasty! Highly recommended!
A. B.
The absolute BEST!!! Great vibe, great team, great community! Psycle London makes my visits to London that much more happy and memorable.
C. B.
Hugely fun spin classes, suitable for all levels and abilities. Lovely changing facilities (though always a bit of a bun-fight for the showers after morning classes).
T. C.
This was the best workout I've had in ages. I recently became a mother for the third time and rarely have time to work out and this really felt amazing and it wasn't boring! Thanks so much
N. N.
Best spin class I’ve ever had! Vv good workout & so fun. Jo is incredible!
S. M.
The only place in London to spin if you want to leave with legs like jelly but a mountain full of endorphins. Aanya is thee best teacher!
R. R.
This is spinning targeting people who want to mix up their spinning. It's probably not the best if you are looking for improving your cycling fitness. But that's just my opinion.
m.
Mark is the best instructor!! :) oh and suuuper love the smoothies there, they’re all really good!!
M. L.
Basically my go-to to replace my SoulCycle deprivation! I have a lot of "favourite" instructors so when I miss sign ups at noon or decide last minute, I can find a class that can work!
A. O.
I went to Lemon's class and the energy was infectious... Great ride, amazing music - great all round experience.
M. R.
Lovely spot - great classes, friendly and enthusiastic space, lots of space and v clean.
j.
Fantastic atmosphere and great teachers. Prefer this place to the American competitors. They really know what they are doing here and you can feel it
G. A.
If you want a proper workout. Go to one of Marion's classes...juat remember the next day when all your muscles hurt, that it's good for you

Closest thing I've found to soul cycle
F. D.
Best spin studio in London! After first discovering the joys of indoor cycling through Psycle last year but trying other studios around the city, including top range 1Rebel and Cyclebeat, nothing else compares. A wonderful warm community atmosphere, unlike a lot of boutique exercise places which seem uptight. The instructors are friendly and encouraging, not at all shouty or intimidating. The music is carefully selected and there is a huge attention to detail. There is a real buzz that goes through the room, everyone is engaged and looks happy to be there. Wonderful changing rooms, a little on the cramped side but a bit of patience will get round it. Worth the £20.
