Having never been on a retreat, I joined Tara’s in July 21. Tara was exceptionally organised in terms of booking arrangements, weekend preparation and the entire running of the retreat. The venue was beautiful and Tara fostered a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. The classes were top notch – wide variety of sessions comprising cardio, stretch and fun! The food was delicious, varied and plentiful and Anna catered to any special requests. I thought the retreat was great value and perfectly curated and I certainly left Bala Brook with an enhanced sense of wellbeing. Thank you Tara!

I went on Tara's retreat in July 2021. The location was amazing. Accommodation was picturesque. Classes and food to a very high standard. Exceptional value for money. Fitness teachers very welcoming and supportive. Tara goes above and beyond to make sure you have an enjoyable experience.

Beautiful retreat, but over and above the beautiful location, for me, the real draw and the reason why I had such an incredible time at this Yoga/Barre retreat was because of Tara and her team. I recently went on a fitness retreat with Tara to Balabrook and it was amazing. A great variety of excellent classes two amazing teachers including Tara and the food and venue were lovely! This was my second retreat with Tara and I will definitely go on more as they are so well organised and a true pleasure to go on!

Lovely retreat place in stunning countryside. Tara and Tasha are a formidable team carving the classes up between them. Amazing range of classes over the weekend. Tara had found a great cook to feed us delicious vegan meals and communal meals in the farmhouse kitchen were a bonding experience. Lack of good wifi was surprisingly a bonus rather than a hinderance for the weekend.

Had a brilliant time on a retreat Tara organised in Dartmoor. Tara is a super enthusiastic instructor, and a really welcoming person. I especially enjoyed the Shesensu and yoga classes. Whole retreat was really well organised with a nice range of classes, delicious food, beautiful setting, and a friendly atmosphere.

Mid July I went on a short activity holiday with Tara to Balabrook, Dartmoor. It was fantastic. The accommodation was great in the middle of lovely countryside and good weather. The classes, food and company were fantastic. Tara always puts in a lot of effort into her classes and to make everybody feel welcome. I got back feeling totally relaxed . A great short break.

Spent 3 great days at Balabrook in Devon with Tara. Tara found this heaven and organised the best fitness retreat. Lots of choice of classes going from relaxing yoga to hardcore sculpt classes without forgetting her amazing Shesensu classes. I even had time to relax in between the classes. The food was fab too. The best! I highly recommend a retreat with Tara, you’ll come back transformed!

In July I went on a fitness retreat to Bala Brook in Devon organised by Tara. I had the most amazing 3 days. The venue was set in beautiful countryside. There were 9 classes over the weekend, which Tara and her friend Natasha took turns at teaching. There was, zumba, pilates, yoga, shesensu, body conditioning, barre and early morning meditation. Tara also found the most amazing chef, called Anna to cook all our meals, which were vegetarian. The food was absolutely delicious. All the ladies on the retreat were really nice and Tara make sure no one felt left out. I left the retreat feeling calm and relaxed, my only complaint, I wish it had been longer. I actually felt sad to leave. I hope to go on more retreats that Tara organises. If you are feeling really stressed, I really recommend, going on a retreat that Tara has organised. Thank you Tara, for a great fitness retreat. x

This was my first ever experience of going on a retreat and it was everything I could have wished for. The setting was idyllic Balabrook is in the middle of Dartmoor National Park. A beautiful retreat set in gardens with very comfortable accommodation. Tara and Tasha, the instructors led 9 wonderful and varied classes from morning meditation, yoga, barre and Shesensu which relaxed, strengthened and energised in the large and bright studio with doors opened onto a beautiful poppy field. Anna cooked delicious and healthy vegetarian food which we enjoyed together sitting around big farm house tables in the lovely kitchen overlooking the garden. The atmosphere was perfect and the group had a lovely positive and friendly atmosphere. I would highly recommend Tara’s retreats for wellbeing and resetting the mind and body.

Tara's classes are amazing. She is the best teacher I have ever had. Her creativity and dedication exceed all expectations. She is professional, flexible, accommodating and has always taken into account everything we want and need.

Bala Brook Retreat, Devon 19th to 21st July 2021 with Tara Lee Oakley
The 3-day Retreat I attended was the second made available in July. It took place within the stunning backdrop of Dartmoor, the National Park only 5 minutes walk away-an amazing river with swimming areas and waterfalls plus a reservoir up on the ridge.
The Retreat house itself was stunning-open, bright, comfortable with en suite rooms, several spacious studios for classes and a beautiful garden, with the brook babbling along it and surrounded by hills and sheep!
There were twelve participants, two trainers (Tara and Tasha) and a female cook who carefully prepared 3 meals a day, all delicious and all supporting our well-being.
There was a choice of 9 classes (3/4 per day). Meditation was before breakfast in a beautiful environment, followed by a choice of Yoga, Ballet Barre, Shesensu, Pilates, Zumba.
I have been a participant in approximately 8 Retreats with Tara to date. Previously they have taken place abroad, in North Africa, Balearic Islands, Sri Lanka and India, to name but a few. Her Retreats are always reasonably priced, excellent value for money. Her tuition is amazing and has been supported by her online classes throughout 2020 and 2021. Given the pandemic, she decided to arrange the Retreat in the UK this year. A good decision and worth every minute of the time spent in Devon. Thank you Tara for a magnificent Retreat! Can’t wait for the next one!

Tara' s classes are first rate. Tara is very knowledgeable and she offers a wide variety of classes. She is both professional and friendly. It is clear that Tara puts a lot of thought, effort and preparation into all of her classes as there is always plenty of content and variation. She suggests modifications when needed and her instructions are always clear and precise.
You get a great workout from each class and they are always fun. I discovered Tara's online classes in April last year and they have been a real lifeline during lockdown.
I will continue to attend Tara's online classes for as long as she runs them.
I have now turned into a morning person because of Tara's classes - I really look forward to them.
Tara is a fantastic instructor and a brilliant source of inspiration. I wholeheartedly recommend her classes to everyone.

I love Tara's classes for so many reasons. Her enthusiasm is contagious. She us thoughtful with modifications while always providing those wonderful options to really go for it. Because she is also a massage therapist, her knowledge of muscles and how they work together is amazing and allows her to give great cues. Her personal touch online is exceptional, as she really sees you and gives encouragement. You can ask a question at any time. Her choreography is the best, the smartest I've yet experienced and I've been doing this almost 20 years. And she's kind, caring, and supportive while helping you have strong brilliant workouts.
