I came here years ago to learn meditation on the free drop in Saturday sessions at 10.30am. I just went back and it's still great. Of course keeping it going means that I give some money at the end of it. This way more people can benefit from the sessions and the center can continue.
I enjoy these sessions as there is a break in between where I can talk with the other attendees and the teacher. It's a great way to learn more and connect with other people.
The center itself is very comfortable. They have a peaceful area to sit on the ground floor and a great meditation room below. I like the library which is for reference purposes.
I would recommend anyone try out the meditation at this center as it is one of the best.

Experienced a very enjoyable long weekend retreat here over the August Bank Holiday. It was a fantastic experience, professionally run and superb with well thought out and lead through material. What made it though was the people running it. They were an amazing team of three who were warm, generous and genuine. Their willingness to be open lead meant despite the online nature of it, there was a true sense of intimacy and that was a lovely thing to be part of. There was also no pressure on you to be anything or experience anything. It was relaxed and very real. There is authenticity and integrity here that will have me returning!

Cannot recommend highly enough. For learning about meditation and Buddhism - the teachers are superb and some of the most inspiring people I have ever met - but also for the people you will meet, without exception, open kind and supportive. If you haven't done online courses or meditations, they really work and you have nothing to worry about. The centre has been a beacon of support and hope in these strange times and if you want your faith in humankind restored, this is the place!

Life changing in the most beneficial & beautiful ways...
A friendly & informative treasure to be found in London.

Since going to the West London Buddhist centre my life has really changed for the better. I have gained a deeper understanding of myself and of life through the Dharma via courses, retreats and Dharma/ritual evenings. I feel my meditation practice and my faith has taken me to a place where im much more happier in life despite the constant struggles we each face.
I'm am especially grateful to all the teachers for providing an abundance of courses, retreats and Dharma evenings during the lockdown and thank them for their time, effort, professionalism and depth of knowledge and experience in Buddhism.
Last but by no means least I'd like to thank my spiritual friends in the Sangha as they have made the experience enriching and have been a great support.

Genuinely welcoming, authentically friendly community vibe. Diverse, inclusive, calm environment to explore meditation & Buddhist teachings. Presented by creative, gifted members in an intriguing & fun manner. Comprehensive program of online/in-person meditation & Buddhism sessions, courses & retreats...that nourish mind/heart & body. All in the context of an authentic experience of connection to oneself & others...becoming friends along the way.

visited the Buddhist centre in early January for an open day and would recommend to any person curious about meditation and other related practices. friendly staff greet you when you open the door on this thoroughly modern and spacious building , just a stones throw away, the hustle of W2.
the reception had some plates of familiar biscuits; round , square and perforated. A large jug of water with lemon peel floating, cups and saucers, tea too. as i said a friendly and open place, you should go along as the centre offers 1 hour drop in meditation sessions throughout the day.
you will be led downstairs by one of the instructors and after taking off your footwear ushered into a room. there a beautifully serene brass Buddha sits. behind and above Byzantine gold flake squares flutter within the spacious space.when you leave, then you can start living again.

Wonderful resource which I have been accessing online via zoom during these uncertain times and closures. Plenty of opportunities each week to learn about and deepen my meditation practice in a welcoming and peaceful group setting. Also a great place to come if you are interested in learning more about Buddhism and how it can help improve and support you through life. I have found both the drop-in and regular mediation practices and the Buddhist teachings to be really helpful. The teaching programme is delivered by a dedicated, experienced and knowledgeable team. Skilful communication and an open-heart. The importance of good teachers cannot be overstated. I join in the meditation and other classes via zoom links on the WLBC website. All the classes I've attended are offered without charge but donations to support the centre are encouraged and welcomed. I gave a little and received such a lot. With much gratitude to the wonderful WLBC sangha. Gavin. Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!

To say that the the courses, instruction, and community at the WLBC is life-changing would be an understatement. I discovered the centre during a difficult time in my life, first attending the weekly Sangha night events. With time, I found myself more able to withstand and to respond to my personal challenges. Not long after I began attending Sangha nights, I started enrolling in the online courses and retreats at WLBC-- a course on the 5 Archetypal Buddhas, a course on the Tibetan Wheel of Life, a retreat on Following Your Heart/ The Still Depths of the Mind--and each time I left with tools to better support my personal growth and practice. The creativity, insight, and humility that the team at WLBC bring to their teaching helped me to cultivate more compassion and joy in my life and relationships.

I am so glad that WLBC has moved online during the pandemic, as it has allowed me to attend events and retreats from California, and find all the great teachers and wonderful members of the community back. WLBC has so many quality courses & events and kind, knowledgeable, and experienced teachers. I have attended several WLBC online retreats and they have been profound and delightful contributions to my practice. Thank you WLBC.
If you don't know WLBC yet, I highly recommend that you check out the events, courses, and retreats for yourself.

I've been going to the WLBC on and off for the past 15 years. Its where I first learnt to meditate using the Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana techniques which have greatly enriched my life. I've always found the courses, events and retreats expertly led, engaging and inspiring. I recently participated in an online meditation retreat 'Fires of Transformation' led by Bodilila and Ratnedeva, both insightful, warm and knowledgeable teachers. It was the first time I had tried both meditating online and taking part in a retreat online (with a group of 30 participants). The experience was wonderful, much better than I expected (considering it was via zoom) with poignant poetry, rituals and discussion groups. I would highly recommend the centre. Its a spiritual jewel in London.

Absolutely wonderful staff and a very warm welcome from everyone at WLBC every time I came into contact with them. I volunteered my time there for a few years and I really loved the sense of connection made by many of the great teachers and meditators I engaged with. By far the best Buddhist Centre in London! (with the best teachers too!), thanks for all the love, Carolina

I had the most wonderful retreat with such insightful, wise, tender and kind teachers. I was anxious about how a virtual retreat would feel, but can honestly say it came as close to actual as is possible. Technically, too, the organisation was fantastic and being able to access the events I missed, read the poems again (and again!) and even receive reminders about sessions starting was just so thorough and helpful. I felt this retreat came to me as a gift and was a most welcome one. What a privilege it was to meet you all in that field.....

I attended several online courses here, all during 'Lock down' and had such a positive experience! The staff are so wise and caring, welcoming and inclusive. Each session is excellently organised and the communication is just great. If you want to learn Buddhist Meditation, gain deep insight into yourself and find a diverse spiritual community, I really recommend this place!

I highly recommend the online Zoom retreats ( and the weekly online meditations ) the West London Buddhist Centre is offering. I loved the Earth, Heart and Sky retreat led by Paramananda and Bodhilila in May and I have enrolled for There is a Field next week. I live in New Zealand and even with the time difference, I felt very connected to the other people on the retreat, supported and inspired by the leaders and continue to process all the material by having the recordings.I am so grateful to have these opportunities. Thank you WLBC!

For me this Retreat, with the theme of meditation in a field , was
meditating in a field with 100 beating hearts . A first experience to meditate in a virtual space and with so many friends.
A beautifully balanced Retreat led by Bodhillia and Paramananda, sharing poetry, music, nature and personal experiences in a compassionate and loving way.
It was like walking through a forest and emerging with intense joy and love in my heart.

A sanctuary in the midst of this wonderful, bustling city. When you feel the need for some calm, thoughtful, wise conversation, this is the place to go.

I have just finished the retreat 'The Psychology of Liberation' with the West London Buddhist Centre.

Well led and accessible.. And fun!
Thank you.... I look forward to joining you for another retreat.

Events are now online & after some initial doubts about how this would work , I’m pleased to report that the classes & retreat that I‘ve attended have been very effective. West London Buddhist Centre is still managing to create a sense of connection & friendly interactions even virtually. Thank you.

Superb, superb in all respects, especially at this time. The teachers are very learned and the care and thought into the classes are nourishing. Through Covid, came across the WLBC, though I live hundreds of miles away, the online classes and knowing that they are there as a community , has been enormous on my self care. I am so humbled by the teachers knowledge, care for others, the quality of classes and more. Very humbled but very thankful at the gem that WLBC has been throughout this year for me. I have setup a monthly donation to them now also, to show my gratitude and support.

Friendly Welcoming Meditation Centre.
A great place for anyone who wants to learn a few simple meditations for living a happy life.
There's also Mindfulness, Yoga, Qi Gong, Film and Music nights.
Not only for Buddhists but you might become one...

The West London Buddhist Centre have adapted extremely well to the forced move away from the physical space, and I highly recommend their online activities. I was on the July 2020 "There is a field" online retreat, and in spite of only interacting through my computer screen really felt like I was on retreat. The teaching of Bodhilila and Paramananda were inspiring, and the content is still available to retreatants to re-view on a excellent retreat webpage - something that isn't possible on physical retreats.
I can't add another review, so I'll update this one: I was on the August Wolf at the Door mindful writing weekend retreat, and it really was a treat again. Dharmavadana and Vishvantara held the online space wonderfully, and the breakout pods meant that I shared more than I would have under the typical physical format. Another highly recommended event when they do it again. Which will hopefully be soon.

They have a friendly, warm community or Sangha, genuinely excellent teachers, and are really good at particularly helpful aspects of teaching Buddhism which can be all too easily missed.
The founder himself said the West London Centre is a jewel within the movement.
Having sampled a few, I'd say he was right.

Great atmosphere, knowledgeable teachers and lovely staff. I followed a course of minfulness meditation and it really improved my daily life. I highly recommend this centre to people that are looking to start a meditation practice or want to develop their own practice. There are many beginners and advanced courses as well as mediation days and retreats available. Meditation and buddhism are taught separately ; this is great for people that have different beliefs. The prices of the courses are very fair and free meditation sections and a cup of tea are always available! I will be back.

Amazing space to engage with Buddhist practise. Great spiritual teachers show you the way to go deeply into your own practise by creating an atmosphere to live each and every moment you experience in your lives. Enjoyed practising with you all at WLBC.

Wonderful online lunchtime meditation sessions have meant that I can take part during the working day. The six week Transparent Heart: Exploring Metta and Insight course was transformative. A really diverse and inclusive offer, which continues to evolve and respond to the community. Much appreciated.

Thank you for last months' retreat. I'm very glad I participated and it is still with me. Paramanandas exploration of the Dhamma life is beautiful and challenging, with poetry and depth. You guided us well Padmalila, your friendliness warmed the online retreat experience as if we were with you.

Really nourishing time on Paramandana and Bodhilila online retreat last month. Real sense of sangha and connection online, inspired teaching, - a real sense of warmth and love. Just what I needed. Plus fantastic organisation and being able to revisit talks and meditations afterwards. Thank you..

I live in Sydney Australia and I find the resources on the West London Buddhist Centre website rich and extensive. Thumbs up to everyone for making such unique, extraordinary Buddhist teachings available to people around the globe.

I am delighted to be able to access WEST LONDON BUDDHIST CENTRE courses online ! The depth of insight and growth I feel from being part of the events is so valuable and the gift of being able to access them online if you are unable to attend a session is fantastic !

Lovely team, wonderful classes and a beautiful centre.

I attended an 8-week mindfulness course here in the summer and it really is an oasis of calm in the middle of bustling west London. I wish I lived closer as they have an impressive range and number of classes and talks on throughout the year. And the building itself is beautifully designed - modern and clean without being cold and stark. Wonderful.

One of my very favourite places to learn about mindful living, self care and of course, get a pocket of precious peace to meditate. Affordable priced courses are delivered to a high standard, and the centre is impeccably run. What I love is a kind hearted inclusivity that is demonstrated in the abilities welcomed and special workshops. They have a superb yoga studio with some of the top teachers in London which is the cherry on the cake!

Lovely place so far.. just been there a couple of times.. on my way to their meditation drop ins. Love it. Tranquility is defined a lot in there . And sometimes that's what you need :-)

This is a sanctuary in the heart of London. A kind community. The Thursday and Saturday meditation drop is sessions are my favourite, on Saturdays you get a longer split meditation sit with biscuits, tea and discussion...a meditators dream:) It’s a place where beginners and experienced meditators can feel welcome, with various courses and events to suit one’s needs from one day retreats at the centre to weekend and week away retreats. You’ll find yoga, music concerts, movie nights, people of colour retreats and other complimentary therapies on their schedule. The space is a special treat for me, one of equanimity, it’s clean and furnished in a contemporary style. I am not a Buddhist and have never felt pressure to conform to Buddhism. For those who are interested in Buddhism there are various courses at different levels to expand knowledge and practice. I am soooo grateful to this centre they have made such a positive impact on my life and those of the friends and family members I have invited. I have a friends who I introduced to the centre about a year ago, she now attends more than I do and knows quite a few members of staff on a first name basis lol, more than I can say for myself. Also members of the community volunteer at the centre, so you come across people who seem like they really want to be there.

A place I call home from home. A relaxed atmosphere, great friends and fantastic Dharma teachers. I am grateful to West London Buddhist Center.

I dicovered this center from a friend's recommendation and have become a regular since. It's a beautiful sanctuary in the middle of London where I go to meditate and learn more about buddhism and how it can relate to my western life.
They have lots of events and classes for all levels and the atmosphere is very informal and peaceful.
Highly recommended if you're interested in buddhism.

This is such a beautiful centre with so many wonderful things to do.
Its also an oasis of peace and tranquility. Its warm friendly and inviting.
My first visit was a Rachmaninoff concert played on the beautiful piano by an amazing musician. As well as meditation, there is also Alexander Technique classes, Yoga, Qigong , any many more things to awaken your mind body and soul.

I studied philosophy 5 years at university and I practice meditation 13 now. If you are looking for a meditation course maybe good, but no place to pop in and do meditation on your own. Another think one lady still follow me there even when I have been on my way from there, just wanted to see another shrine before I go, saying that class is booked for another people. Do not allow me even to do quiet observation without disturbing me. May I change my mind on another visit, but this happened to me 1st time and I visit holy places across all London last 3 years.
