Reviews of Yoga with Divya

No Friday night would be complete with out my Yin Yoga. Perfect end to the week and start to the weekend. I’ve been doing Divya’s class for 3 years now and love every minute of them. Her extensive knowledge she brings to class sharing quotes, poems and insight whilst guiding you through posses, allows you to connect with your mind, body and spirit in a safe & nurturing environment is heavenly. One leaves relaxed, revitalized and contemplative knowing that both body & soul is set and ready for the week ahead. Highly recommend this class.

I have been going to Divya Yoga class since last summer and it's one of the highlights of the week.
Her class is very different to other classes I attended before. It's non competitive, people are genuine, it's relaxing and she is a fabulous teacher. She has this mellow voice and is able to bring out the best in you.
Every class is different, hence its never really boring. There are always a few Sun Saluations and some warrior positions but she always teaches some different poses every class.
You leave her class and you simply feel good and peaceful!
Highly recommended!

Divya is one of the best teachers of life. Her approach to yoga is very professional, wise and comprehensive. Everyone attending either her class, workshop or retreat would enjoy it and find exactly what needs to be discovered at that particular giving day. Divya's teaching helps one to discover the inner peace and awakens the hidden potentials of any kind. You don't have to be of a particular shape or age, her teaching is suitable for everyone. Whether you are an experienced yogi or a beginner you always benefit from the precise instructions to gain the best alignments - the best feelings. Yoga with Divya is the most productive and beneficial activity you can do for a better life.

I have been learning yoga from Divya for nearly nine years now. The weekly session with her is one of the high points of my week that I look forward to, regardless of how busy or tired I might be. Divya starts with a careful assessment of where you are - what are your needs, expectations, limitations and strengths. She then tailors the session to fit around you. She is calm, kind, and perceptive - and brings all those qualities to bear on the lesson. She will push you, but always gently. She instils the principles of mindfulness into you without making it obvious. Learning yoga from Divya has made me physically fitter, more supple. It has also given me greater mental focus and helped me deal with stress more calmly and rationally.

Divya teaches with a perfect balance of physical and meditative practice. No two classes are ever the same as they are always tailored to yoginis in the room in response to group energy and external environment. Divya's classes and retreats have been an essential part of my life for almost 5 years helping me feel strength, focus and calmness of mind. Recommended to beginners and seasoned practitioners alike.

Practicing yoga with Divya is much more than a physical endeavour. After spending a whole day in my head and disconnected from my body, under her careful and expert guidance I am brought back home to myself, to the here an now, and I leave the studio feeling quiet and grounded. Pure experience based, body led, unapologetic practice of radical acceptance. Really grateful that such a generous teaching is available to me.

I've been attending Divya's weekly classes for over 2 years now. I feel a variety of things after each class, depending on my status at the time and on the type of class she teaches, ranging from calm, energised, stretched!, enlightened, happy - but all are extremely positive.
The vibe of the class is friendly and non-egotistical. I have made several friends through the class. The studio is quiet and low key, and she always makes it look nice with candles and other ornaments and plays a range of background music at times during the class.
I cannot recommend the class enough. Having had a number of injuries over the years, including a broken back, her yoga has kept me strong and flexible enough to continue my sport playing years! Thx Divya

I came to Divya's class for the fitness aspect alone. Instead it opened a door for me into thinking about the world and myself that I hope will never be closed. She, and those who attend, are friendly and eager, I have made some wonderful friends there. The class itself is challenging and soothing at the same time after a long day's work...and yes, the physical/fitness aspects are brilliant. :)

Divya is certainly one of the best teachers I've had on my 10-year yoga journey spanning Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and now England. She brings her knowledge of Iyengar--proper alignment, use of props, avoiding injury--to her flow practice, so that both beginners and seasoned yogis alike deepen their learning at every class.
She gives clear, precise and thorough instructions, and always remains calm and gentle. While the lounge music, candles and incense lull you into a zen-like state, Divya's sessions are no snooze in the park. In a good way. By the end of class you will be completely stress-free, stretched and energised.

First the facts:
- she discreetly enquires about my health in the past week to adapt that day's Class to help with any problem
stated or identified by her
- her diary management is excellent and yet flexible
- punctuality is another adorable aspect
- her teaching method suits me as she articulates every step: why and for what benefit and always explains everything in lucid simple language.
No need to know sanskrit to decipher
the yogic phrases!
- she uses words like paint to draw a portrait of every step. That helps to see even my back!
Now my opinion:
I am a COPD patient, so Pranayama was recommended by my own Lung Specialist. I have weekly classes and succeed in making about 75% of the
dates despite my travel.
Even my Lung Specialist says that what Divya does for me as Yoga teacher is more the reason for my
well being than the Inhalers.
Classic example is now while i am writing this, i have had to all 4 classes of March and that shows in every step.
But the weekly classes with you is undoubtedly adding to my longevity.

Divya's classes are such a source of inspiration, hope (whenever things might be difficult), and full of calming positive messages!
I see Mondays as a true gift and she is a wonderful, wonderful teacher.

Over the past three years, I have found it a joy and comfort to attend Divya's classes, which are a haven in the busyness of central London. She is a special teacher who radiates positivity.
