Reviews of Yoga With Emma in the Logshed
I highly recommend these classes. Emma is such a wonderful teacher.
When I first walked in a couple of years ago, my knowledge of yoga was basically a couple of pictures I searched up on Google. I didn't know it yet, but I had even managed to buy something that wasn't a yoga mat. It's fair to say, I was a nervous man.
I was made to feel at ease right away, and from that day, Emma has delivered the perfect balance of pushing to advance my practice without making me feel uncomfortable. The classes provide a challenge, but with a sense that you belong. Over time, the benefits I felt in my body far exceeded what I had hoped for.
Beyond that, Emma will show you kind, caring, and relaxing ways, that you cannot help but take away with you. These classes have not only benefitted my body, but shown me some ways to be a better person.
I have never tried yoga before as the chronic arthritis I have has impacted significantly on my mobility. I was advised yoga may help. I met with Emma a couple of weeks ago and with her wonderful support and tuition the yoga is improving my physical and mental health wellbeing, it enables you to have "me time" in a safe space whilst, reconnecting with spirit and mind. I highly recommend Emma and yoga.
Another blissful weekend of yoga practice and peace lovingly crafted by our most experienced and talented yoga teacher Emma, who weaves her magical stories with ease. Surrounded by beautiful ladies, amazing scenery and delicious nourishment provided by lovely Lucy's Ladle, doesn't get any better for a retreat at Godshill. Thank you Emma et al for such a restorative weekend again xxxxx
I have been practicing yoga with Emma for over a decade and without doubt she’s been the most inspiring and encouraging teacher. Yoga practice has become synonymous with her guidance, as I have many issues with post accident injuries. Despite extended breaks, every time I resume, I feel suffused with a confidence that great improvement is possible. Her gift is to never make you feel judged and where you are encouraged to rise to your own potential.
After suffering with mental health from an accident, I looked for natural ways of healing. Joining Emma's Yoga class, has given me great foundation, learning breathe work for calming down the mind, whilst getting exercise and flexibility that looks after my body.
I never thought it would be for me, but I'm really loving the practice, and the way she teaches her class is inspiring, and with her guidance she takes you on a journey that is something special.
I personally would recommend this to anyone.
Emma is an excellent yoga teacher who is professional and enthusiastic. I have worked with Emma over a number of years and have benefitted from the wide range of classes, workshops and other sessions she has provided. I really enjoyed the Sup yoga session that I tried this summer and always find yoga brunch one of my favourites. I recommend Emma as a yoga teacher as I greatly appreciate her encouragement which has helped to motivate me to start Ashtanga classes in recent months.
Emma is the real deal. She has a deep knowledge and understanding of yoga - the philosophical as well as the physical - which she shares with humility and lightness. And, interweaves her yogic wisdom with beautiful and pertinent poems and readings. I loved the weekend I spent with her on a retreat in Wales.
I went to Em’s class which is currently being covered by Gabriel in Brook. It was a really great class. I felt I could put in the exact right amount of effort with some good stretches and get lots of enjoyment and relaxation out of it at the same time. As everyone could I believe as you just do what’s comfortable for you. Just as yoga should be. He’s a gentle soul who is attentive but also fun. Thanks lots! 🙏
Emma is a truly wonderful yoga teacher. I have attended both ski retreats and Isle of Wight retreats. Emma is superb at adjusting the practice to meet individual needs whilst keeping it challenging for experienced practitioners. I’ve recently had a tailor made session at Emma’s studio - I can’t recommend Emma highly enough. I wish I lived on the Isle of Wight so I could attend her classes more frequently!
Emma’s approach to teaching yoga is refreshing. With hands on adjustments and recommendations to help improve your practice.
At the centre of The practice is the sense of personal fulfilment and ensuring that you gain what you need rather than a physical achievement.
I have practiced with a number of yoga teachers in the past and have found Emma’s classes to be one of the best.
Whether beginner or advanced you are in safe hands with Emma. Em’s home studio is a perfect place to practise and meet like minded people. She will encourage your improvement so that you get the best out of yoga for your body and mind. Highly recommended
The 'snow yoga' holiday with Emma was amazing - starting the day with magical meditation and yoga, looking out across the snow covered mountains with candles flickering, as the sun came up was inspiring, followed by great skiing and then a wonderful evening yoga session adapted to how sore our muscles were from skiing. Great location and food and as ever a wonderfully positive, uplifting and fun atmosphere that Emma created. Thank you Emma hope to join you again soon.
A lovely new year retreat with wonderful yoga, in a really great location. I didn't know Emma beforehand but would certainly love to spend another retreat with her - she has huge experience and lovely insight, and had put together a nicely balanced schedule for the three days. Godshill Park Farm was one to remember, too - a terrific yoga studio overlooking beautiful scenery - and a host of furry friends in the fields! Highly recommended.
What an amazing week of skiing and yoga with Emma! The morning and evening yoga practices really complemented the skiing. Emma is a very knowledgeable yoga teacher and I learnt a lot to help improve my practice. The classes were made even more enjoyable with Emma’s wise words and stories. The chalet, food and my fellow ski yogis were wonderful and the atmosphere throughout the week was warm, fun and supportive.
Exceptionally highly skilled specialist yoga teacher recommended to me by my health care professional. I feel stronger both physically and mentally and loved my sessions with Emma in her purpose built yoga studio.
My first return to the log shed after a long hiatus.
Thoroughly enjoyed Emma’s support through the lockdowns with her Patreon online offerings but nothing beats personal tuition.
It felt so good to be back in the warmth of her yoga community with her caring hands encouraging me deeper into the practise. Her wry chuckle as I jumped in the deep end to an Ashtanga class was priceless and justified ! ❤️
I've enjoyed 3 YogaSki trips in Chalet La Source,Villard-Reculas,France with Emma & loved every minute of them. Great yoga teaching, lovely vegetarian food & good skiing with like-minded individuals based in a still quiet 'Village Perche' & lovely chalet.Yoga,Eat,Ski,Yoga,Eat,Sleep!!
Emma is an excellent yoga teacher who I have practiced with for over 15 years. Can’t recommend her highly enough for yoga that is mindful, spiritual and also fun!
Yoga with Emma is transformational! I love the way Emma takes yoga to a deeper level. Her classes are gentle yet challenging. I leave feeling centered and positive.
What a lovely practice this morning. Dynamic was what Em said and it was ! A lovely start to a sunny winters day!
An amazing snow, ski and yoga holiday. Emma is a wonderful and passionate yoga teacher and I learnt a great deal from her. The combination of skiing and yoga was brilliant! The group was fun and I feel wonderful.... Thank you and see you again!
I’ve been on two of Emma’s ski retreats, and will most definitely be returning for more. Both were truly amazing from start to finish. The yoga is incredible, and matched beautifully by the hospitality and skiing.
What a fabulous holiday and Emma was the supreme host. I had a gorgous week of skiing and yoga - a perfect complement of exercise. The chalet was realy comfortable and welcoming and the food prepared and served by Michael and Amanda was delicous and plentiful. But it was Emma who brought it all together, making everyone feel really welcome. I highly recommend this trip. Deirdre
Emma is a truly inspiring teacher, strong, brave and compassionate, she intuitively knew how to find the best in all of us, pushing us to physical limits with real kindness. The yoga was magical, the chalet, Villard Reculas and skiing were a dream - a peaceful unspoilt mountain village with no lift queues but access to one of the biggest ski areas in the French Alps. Really it couldn't have been better!
Emma is an inspirational teacher - she tailors the work to the group's abilities and encourages everyone to achieve more than they anticipated. She's warm, caring and very experienced. She has an excellent knowledge of physiology and how it interrelates with a yoga practice.
I enjoy yoga with Emma so much ! She is very caring and helpful. I've been to many excerise classes but she is the best !!
I came to this course with trepidation, having family recently had a new hip. I needn't have worried. Emma is an exceptional teacher. She empowers her pupils to find that balance between effort and stillness, so that the practice is truly energising. Helped of course by a lovely venue. Many many thanks
Don't let the skiing put you off!!!
I went to Emma’s ski/yoga retreat in Jan 19. I wasn’t sure what to expect as I do not ski and didn’t want to learn but I love snow. I had the most amazing time up on the slopes and around the ski resort. It’s super easy to get around using a pedestrian lift pass (€80 for 6 days). The chair lift operators slow it down for you as a pedestrian so you can get off without trouble and there are cable cars too. There are walking trails up the mountain with lovely places to eat and drink on route. The views are incredible and you get to experience the mountain air and light without all of the equipment (and uncomfortable boots!).
The walk along the Summer Road to Huez (3.4km) is stunning and takes about an hour one way. Once in Huez you can catch the bubble cars up to Alpe d’huez (€3 if you don’t have a day/week pedestrian lift pass). Just at the top close to the where the bubbles stop there is a healthy food restaurant, L'Ardoise, offering great veggie and vegan choices along with fish and meat.
The chalet is delightful, a real gem tucked away in the village. The food was truly wonderful, freshly cooked each day and plenty of it. I ate too much if the truth be told. And the yoga, well Emma is the most gifted of teachers, a real wordsmith and teller of stories. Her teachings took my yoga practice to a new level and I can't wait to go back again.
I have found Emma's teaching to benefit all areas of my life in the last 2 1/2 years since I started yoga practise. I dropped 4 stone in weight. Beneficial physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually which is certainly paying dividends in my attitude to career and relationships with family and friends. Also encouragement in triathlon and I wasnt aware what that was before yoga. Big thankyou Emma x
What a fantastic holiday the Ski Yoga holiday was ! I am not an experienced Yogi but Emma's pre and post ski practices were a great complement to the ski activities and catered for all abilities. Would definitely go again :-) S
I've just got back from the most Amazing ski and yoga holiday with Emma. Starting the morning with a great yoga session before heading out onto the snow was one of the most refreshing holidays I've ever had. Great food and fantastic new people. Thank you Em. x
I went back to Emmas Ski and Yoga for a second time, as I discovered her unique yoga experience last Jan. Very warm, very friendly, great location, out of a film set. And she teaches Yoga very well and passionately.
Once again the magical combination of skiing and yoga was superb. Yoga just slightly pushing you, but with a friendly and knowledgeable smile guiding you - whilst the snow sparkled and the powder was purr-fect. Can not recommend the combination or the teacher highly enough.
Yoga is something I’ve always wanted to do and finally took the step and found Emma so encouraging passionate and patient with an older not so subtle lady. Four months down the road it has enhanced my life both physically and mentally and given me confidence to achieve so much more out of life.
I found Emma shortly after moving to the Isle of Wight and knew that I need not look any further. Everyone is very friendly, the facilities and Emma's teaching are excellent.
A lovely class! What a wonderful find right here in Seaview. Will go again and again.
Snow ski and yoga adventures in the heart of the Alps. Simply beautiful. Look forward to returning next year for sure.
A truly inspiring motivator who positively and consistently improves mind and body with every class.
Fantastic, tranquil class. Highly Recommend!!
