Reviews of Peacock Tree Yoga

Peacock Tree Yoga is a welcoming, supportive and fun yoga studio. Their communication and organisation is spot-on, the classes meet you where you are at, giving lots of options to tailor the physical practice to how you feel that day: whether that's tired, or in need of a challenge. Best of all is the mindful aspect of the classes, which leave me feeling refreshed and ready for the week ahead. Highly recommended!

Peacock Tree yoga is fantastic - the classes are so uplifting and energising. Lilley is an amazing teacher, who is filled with positive energy!
Attending weekly Peacock Tree yoga classes has been a welcome retreat from busy work weeks and I top these up with the online classes too.
There's always a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
I cannot recommend Peacock Tree yoga enough!

Simple wonderful. As someone relatively new to yoga, and never having met anyone at Peacock Tree Yoga before I was pleasantly surprised at how welcoming Lilley was and how deeply inspiring and yet very comforting the workshop on Saturday was. I will be signing up to the beginners classes going forward and would highly recommend to anyone considering yoga to do the same !

I have been to several yoga classes over the years and have been practising at home on my own for a while. I was looking for a class that would both inspire and challenge my routine practice. I tried the Dynamic Ashtanga class at Peacock Tree Yoga four weeks ago and it was the best class I’ve ever attended and exceeded all expectations. Edith Loney is absolutely brilliant and just the kind of teacher I needed. She has a good eye for detail and has corrected some of my postures, which is really useful and exactly what I wanted from a class. There were some postures I never managed to do or didn’t attempt because they looked too difficult. Edith has shown me techniques as to how to get into them and I am beginning to try them out now. Since my first class four weeks ago I’ve noticed a big change in my ability and practice. I can see myself staying with Peacock Tree for a long time to come and really enjoying the journey.

It feels like a pleasure & a treat to be part of Peacock Tree Yoga. Lilley oozes, knowledge, kindness & humour; she is a wonderful yoga teacher. I come away from each class or work shop with something different- physically, emotionally or spirituality. If you're thinking of starting or returning to yoga then you've found 'The One' 😊

I have been attending Peacock Tree for nearly 2 years now, having not previously practiced yoga. Lilley's classes are challenging, a really good work out, yet restorative and great fun! Lilley also has an incredibly inspiring personal story which really helps her to understand and explain the power of yoga. I couldn't recommend Peacock Tree highly enough- Thank you Lilley!

Almost finishing my first term with Lilley, she is so positive so great with everyone and very encouraging and friendly. I have never been to a yoga class before prior to joining and she quickly made me feel at ease and always available if I have any questions. Now, every Monday I look forward to Yoga and I can definitely see the difference now where I am more flexible than I was before!
Even on the same class, she changes the routine from time to time so that we are not doing the same old poses and gives us a variety to practice on.
Thanks Lilley!

As I'd never been to a yoga class before, I didn't really know what to expect. I Absolutely love Lilley's yoga practice, you are encouraged to push yourself but also go at your own pace. The classes are varied, relaxed and fun. Lilley is an excellent teacher and very supportive, would definitely recommend to anybody wanting to start up.

I have been doing Peacock Tree yoga classes since 2011.
I started doing the course to improve health and flexibility and the results were immediate.
I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every class.
Lilley is an excellent teacher; with boundless enthusiasm, she is able to focus on the individual needs of every student and ensures that everyone benefits from her lessons.
I could do a course much closer to my house, but I find it is well worth the extra mile to attend Lilley's course.

I thoroughly enjoyed attending Peacock Tree Yoga classes whilst I was living in York. Lilley is a really excellent teacher and encouraging motivator, the classes are very well paced, so that you can work at a level that is right for you. I would highly recommend Peacock Tree Yoga for students at any ability level, not only for the physical benefits but for the lovely feeling of serenity I always experienced after completing a class! Fabulous stuff, I just hope I can find somewhere as good now that I have moved - Lilley has set the bar very high!

Lilley’s classes are always overflowing with energy and enthusiasm. She is so passionate about yoga and has such a happy, ‘can-do’ attitude that is really inspiring to be around. The classes are great – a skillful balance between focusing on the physical aspects such as strength, flexibility and balance and going deeper into the philosophy of yoga and how to apply it in our daily lives. It’s all presented with a lightness of touch and humour that keeps it accessible to everyone. It is obvious that Lilley really cares, taking time to get to know her students and Peacock Tree yoga feels like a community. The students are warm and welcoming to newcomers and people are supportive rather than competitive. I would recommend that anyone go along and give it a try.

I absolutely LOVE going to Peacock Tree Yoga. The classes are amazing and I look forward to going each week. I have been going for around 18 months and both my strength and flexibility have really improved, the classes also have such a huge effect on my mind, after yoga I feel calmer and my mind is clearer! Lilley is such a wonderful knowledgeable teacher & I feel really lucky to have these classes in York!

When the pupil is ready the teacher will come… and having moved house and being in need to finding a local yoga class I stumbled across the Peacock Tree website, and never looked back. Lilley is a truly inspirational teacher who’s enthusiasm and wise words carries you along , even when the class is a little challenging. Classes have provided me with a wonderful focal point of the week and stability when vast amounts of change happen. Getting on my mat allows me to totally concentrate on my practice, the fact that all the other students are as enthusiastic and friendly means that you also look forward to seeing them every week as well. Three and a half years later I am setting off to start my Yoga teacher training in November, something that I never thought I would do and have the thank Lilley for all her help and encouragement, her fabulous ‘no excuses, go do it’ approach really help me make the step and book the course.

As an over fifty new to Yoga (it just never appealed) I thought I would give it a try in order to maintain flexibility and get that 'feel good' factor. I absolutely love it. Lilley is such a wonderful teacher. Her manner is calming and reassuring, she always encourages and stresses the fact that you must make it right for you. Although I have only been to a few classes I can already feel the benefits. I feel more flexible, my stiffness has decreased and I certainly come away from class with a spring in my step. I would highly recommend it.

Lilley's classes are 'a full body smile'.
Despite having a large number of students Lilley has an amazing way of making you realise you're important and not just another student in her class. Her yoga classes are more than just a weekly affair, I take them with me and use her practices in all areas of my life. She teaches discipline, self understanding and self love. She really is a rare, contagious gem, whose passion seeds itself deep inside of you. A passion, not just to stand at the front of your mat once a week, but to want to keep standing there with enthusiasm, every week.
I have tried a few different yoga classes with different teachers over the past 5 years (due to moving out of the area) but I am glad I've ended up back at Peacock Tree's classes as they are, by far, my favourite yoga school. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting a yoga class, wether you're a beginner or you already have a practice, there is a class suitable for every stage.
I started in Lilley's classes having never practiced yoga and with hers and Daniels encouragement I developed a strength I never thought possible and have seen myself progress over the years. I'm currently taking a 'time out' from my Ashtanga practice due to being 31 weeks pregnant but I can't wait to get back to the front of my mat in Lilley's class, once I've recovered from childbirth!

A welcoming & friendly place to practice Yoga, Lilley & her team are fab! I am 6 weeks into my Yoga journey - I was a Yoga virgin with zero flexibility & balance and I am now experiencing improvements in both areas, plus the added benefit of feeling stronger in mind, body and spirit. Thanks Lilley & Louise...
D. R.
I started yoga around 3 years ago. As someone with lower back issues it has help immeasurably. With each class being a potential mix ability, Lilley always makes sure that her attention is focused on each participant getting the most they can out of each session and she’s always around to make sure that you can push yourself that little bit further. I like to see yoga as a journey I’m on to explore my own abilities rather than a weekly class!
A. Y.
Lilley teaches her class with such exuberant enthusiasm and warmth you can't help but 'leave your worries at the door with your shoes' (as Lilley reminds us!) and immerse yourself in the full mind, body & soul experience that is Peacock Tree Yoga. Even in a class of 20+ students Lilley ensures each student receives her time & attention, whilst maintaining the seamless flow of the class for the group as whole. These are thoroughly invigorating classes which ensure a rapid progression in ability if you commit to a regular practice. I have wholeheartedly recommended Peacock Tree Yoga to many friends and will continue to do so. Thank You!

I've thoroughly enjoyed Yoga Essentials this term and really feel that all areas of my life have benefited. I wasn't sure what to expect initially however, the sense of calm and inner strength have really enabled me to deal with everyday challenges in such a different way that my stress levels are significantly reduced compared to before I began my Yoga practice.
Lilley is an amazing teacher who inspires self-belief and a sense of accomplishment every lesson. If you are at all considering Yoga with Lilley; go for it, you won't regret it!

For anybody restarting yoga or trying for the first time in York who is looking for a undaunting, friendly, varied and challenging yoga class, peacock tree is the perfect place for you! I joined Lilleys classes after moving to York two years ago and haven't looked back! No matter how much commitment you can make due to busy work schedules, there is always a warm welcome, no judgements, no pressure, a great atmosphere (the classes are really mixed, male and female, from 8 to 80) and you can do as much or as little as you feel able to. With Lilley's gentle encouragement and enthusiasm I always leave feeling restored and strong! Lilley is quite simply like a ray of sunshine! I would recommend Peacock Tree to anyone!
L. M.
Oh my goodness, where do I start? Lilley is simply the BEST yoga teacher I have ever met! Lilley has this incredible warmth and positivity-you leave her classes with an energised and reinvigorated body, and also a calm and peaceful mind. I would not hesitate in recommending Lilley and her classes. You won’t regret it, I promise 😀

This is my second term with Peacock Tree Yoga and I look forward to our class each week on a Tuesday. Lilley delivers the class very professionally and you can not be affected by her enthusiasm and drive and the way that she changes things each week to keep us on our toes. As a 50+ male I am surprised how going to Lilley's classes has not just given me a new lease of life but the ability to view life in a different way as well as feeling both physically and mentally sharper than I have been for years. Thank you.
C. S.
I have just had the most wonderful inspirational morning. The spring workshop was so uplifting and thought provoking. Lilley was as always so motivational.
If you haven't experienced any if the yoga classes or workshops from peacock tree yoga you must they will bring a little butt of happiness and joy to a rather cruel world .

Lily is the best yoga teacher I've had by a country mile! As I surf and have an old back injury, yoga is really important for me to remain flexible so I can do the things I love in life. Liliy's classes are the perfect way for me to do this, and I can't recommend her highly enough. The classes leave me mentally uplifted and feeling fantastic physically. Do yourself a favour and sign up for her classes now, before they're booked up! Your mind and body will be eternally grateful...

I only started with Peacock Tree in Easter after trying yoga some years about and not clicking with it. Now I completely love it!! The classes are relaxed yet focused and very friendly and Lilley and her team are just wonderful. I always leave feeling uplifted and full of energy! My flexibility has also completely changed and I am able to see little changes and improvements week on week. Cannot recommend enough! :-)

I started with Lilley & the Team a couple of years ago and quickly became a yoga fan due to the feeling it gives you and the Peacock Tree Team are amazing and so supportive. I've also just started the pregnancy yoga classes and I absolutely love it, and feel so wonderful afterwards. Would highly recommend to anyone starting out with yoga and looking for a great team to begin your yoga journey with, as well as anyone who has been practicing yoga for a while and would like a great team to enjoy with! :-)

I started with Lilley in September as a complete beginner. After uninspiring evenings in the gym, I wanted to find a form of exercise that I could actually enjoy, so I thought I'd give yoga a go....Thank god I did! It may sound dramatic, but it has actually changed my life. From feeling energised, stronger and fitter, to being empowered in warrior pose before an interview, yoga class really has given me so much positivity and I genuinely look forward to every week. Obviously this has a huge amount to do with Lilley's vibrant, effervescent personality which makes everybody feel so welcome and brings a smile to your face. I would recommend Peacock Tree yoga to everyone no matter what age or fitness level. Start now... You won't regret it!

We started with Peacock Tree Yoga nearly four years ago, in the over 50's group, then moved to the Beginners, and we are now in the Improvers. Yoga has become a way of life and it is great to be able to keep up with the other students who are in some cases 'quite a bit' younger. If it is a case of use it or loose it, we are determined to follow the latter. Just a word of warning though - yoga can become addictive, especially with a teacher like Lilley, who exudes enthusiasm at every lesson.
S. P.
I started practising yoga with Peacock Tree just over three years ago. My need at the time was stress reduction - I was having sleepless nights and was unhappy with work. From the very first session I was amazed at how relaxed I felt during and after the practise - I slept more and worried less about work from the start. My wife commented on how I seemed inches taller and so relaxed when I returned home! I had been to various classes during earlier years but never found a teacher that inspired me. Lilley changed that - she has an infectious personality that draws you into the world of yoga, making sure you are ready before taking the asanas to the next level. In addition, she helps you rethink the things that you do and take for granted in our daily lives. I have learnt so much about myself and the world around me since starting practising - it was a revelation to me that the world around you is what you make it - before starting yoga I felt that life was a battle - now I know it is a challenge you can choose to enjoy or not, it is entirely up to you. Yoga really does have a life changing effect over and above being a form of exercise. I have lost over 10kg in weight, am leaner, stronger physically and mentally, and my outlook on life has completely changed for the better - something that never happened from going to the gym. Lilley, Daniel and the team are excellent teachers - they will take the time to get to know your reasons for starting yoga and what you are seeking from it, and then help you tailor your practise to match your evolving requirements. Many people say they wish they had discovered yoga earlier. Whilst I acknowledge that sentiment, I feel that I found yoga when I needed it most and will now keep it in my life forever going forward. So, if you are looking for a yoga practise in York - I can only recommend one above all others - Peacock Tree.

Lilley has a special talent for putting people at ease, whatever their level of experience. Her teaching is inspiring to the point where you don't feel like you are doing exercise as much as training your mind and body to cope with anything life might throw at you. Once you have experienced peacock tree yoga you won't feel the need to go anywhere else.
F. Y.
Lilley is a truly inspirational teacher, I always leave her classes feeling physically, mentally and emotionally better than when I went in. The increases my strength and flexibility are noticeable but there's so much more to Lilley's yoga classes than moving through a series of postures. You get into the nitty-gritty, work through it and come out feeling lighter and improved, and if you choose to tune in you can learn much more. I teach yoga myself and every teacher needs a teacher, Lilley pushes me on in my practice and inspires my study. Thank you Lilley I'm truly grateful.

It was my first time at Lilley's yoga class and I must say that it is the best yoga class I have ever been to- it was truly magical!
It is always a little daunting when you go to a new class; however Lilley made me feel so welcome and encouraged and supported me throughout (the chocolate treat and tea after class was a bonus too!). If only I lived closer to York, I would definitely attend the class on a regular basis!
Many thanks and I hope to see you again in the future,
Charlotte

This has been a gentle yet powerful introduction to yoga – I wish I’d started years ago! Peacock Tree takes a truly holistic approach to wellbeing and students are encouraged to challenge themselves in a non-competitive atmosphere. Within the class each individual is truly treated as such.
Lilley brings real grace and a sense of humour and her positivity is infectious! I truly look forward to my weekly class for its physical and spiritual benefits which persist beyond the mat. The classes are both energising and relaxing – I would recommend them to anyone.

Lilley is an exceptionally good teacher. She directs the class with energy and enthusiasm, whilst still being able to create a relaxing and regenerative environment. I particularly enjoy how she gives you her wisdom on how to live, how to be, where life is going. You can, of course, take what you wish from this, but I find it genuinely inspiring. I strongly recommend Lilley's yoga classes.
K. L.
I’ve only been doing this class for 12 weeks, but I’m already feeling the benefits. I have lost weight, become more toned and have a more positive attitude to life. Lilley is very kind, enthusiastic and encouraging. She also brings a great sense of fun into it all. Highly recommend.

I am so proud to be the middle of three generations of women practising yoga with Lilley at Peacock Tree!
I started with Lilley in early years. I so much benefitted from the classes - both in the flexibility and peace and calmness of mind I found through Lilley's teaching - that it seemed obvious to enrol my daughter, from the age of about 7. I wanted and still dream of her being able to fully experience and control or accept her developing body's capabilities. Moreover, I want her to find the unique comfort and clarity of yogic meditation, which I think can be an essential ability for young people. She's almost 12 years old now and has encouraged a number of her friends to join her. I hope yoga will continue to be a support, comfort and basis for them all.
It's odd, but it was a surprise when my lovely Mum asked me for Lilley's details at the beginning of the year - she's always done her own stuff: tennis, croquet(!), dog walking etc. She's nowhere near as old as HM Queen or Joan Collins, but she'd decided she needed to maintain her strength and flexibility, and my trumpeting of Lilley's teaching had obviously wormed into her mind.
Lilley was lovely - as an introduction for Mum, she invited us both to try a class together, so Mum felt comfortable and at ease. (But then, all the Peacock Tree classes are a fantastical mixture of yoga practise, relaxing, sharing, inspiration and humorous stories and commentary from Lilley).
And so now my Mum's got hooked, and is feeling the benefit. I am so grateful - although this means I now have to convert the Very Yorkshire Male Contingent of the family...

“I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to come to yoga classes with Lilley at Peacock Tree Yoga over the last 3 months. As an Ultra runner the benefits of practicing yoga more regularly soon became apparent with improved breathing and posture as well as increased strength and flexibility, my recovery time after races has also reduced by at least 50% - you won’t find that in any recovery shake! Less obvious but equally important to me are the psychological effects, the general feeling of well being, positivity and I always come away feeling very relaxed, more optimistic, less stressed and prepared to face life’s ups and downs. It is most definitely worth investing this time in your self. Lilley’s hands-on encouragement to get me to adjust my posture when in certain poses felt gently reassuring. This, together with her wonderfully mindful yoga teaching is literally a tonic.”
J. C.
Fantastic yoga school. Lilley and the other teachers are very supportive and inclusive. It's a wonderful place to grow ones practice. I have genuinely enjoy attending classes and have truly felt many benefits, physically and mentally, since joining the school. It's great atmosphere with a lot of enthusiasm.

I had always been relatively fit and enjoyed going to the gym until the birth of my second child. At this point I developed symptoms of anxiety which were only compounded by the fact that it felt difficult to leave the house with having two very small (yet wonderful!) children. In time, I came across Lilley's website. I'd dabbled in pregnancy yoga and had enjoyed it but hadn't felt any urge to take the classes back up. However, one of the sessions was just around the corner and I felt I could manage to get out of the house for an hour once a week. As it was, it was one of the best decisions I made and I now wouldn't be without my weekly fix of yoga! Lilley is an inspiration, and clearly lives and loves what she teaches. I feel physically and mentally much healthier and stronger and the weekly classes are now very much a part of my life. Perhaps the best thing of all is that I can now touch my toes with my legs straight - result!!
S. P.
I have worked with a number of yoga teachers but Lilly is simply the best. Her classes are my favourite part of my week. I have fibromyalgia and have had spinal surgery and some days its painful and difficult to get moving, but I always feel better after class. My back bends get easier with each sun salutation.
E. G.
My wife and I started in January, both of us are enjoying it immensely.
Myself being 65 and retired, felt Yoga would be beneficial, made a good
choice, classes are relaxed, Lilley and team are brilliant. Can be tough
sometimes but I have a go !! I can honestly say that both of us have
benefited from attending classes and we have just signed up for some
more.

When you go to Lilley's lessons, you get more than yoga instruction: not only does she give you thoughtful and tailored advice and corrections for your postures, but Lilley really cares about the well-being and and health of every single person there. She also always has an inspirational message or theme for each class which adds an extra dimension. Thank you Lilley for all the help and encouragement you've given me over the last couple of years!
L. F.
I was in Lilley's first class, I knew back then she was a very good teacher.
I have recently completed a teacher training course myself, and as soon as I came back I said to Lilley 'Now I really appreciate what good teacher you are'. After teaching myself I realise how difficult it is to be thinking of everything at once. While remaining present and giving your students confidence in you.
Lilley makes all this look easy, I highly recommend her as a yoga teacher. She has taught me so much even beyond yoga. Thanks Lilley.
L. Y.
I am just coming to end of my introduction to Yoga and have loved every minute. The group is warm and welcoming. Lilley and the team are lovely and really know their stuff. I can't wait to continue my journey with Peacock Yoga. I can highly recommend the class.

I never know what to write in reviews-it takes me long enough to write a birthday card! Here goes!
After looking for a new hobby that would reduce my stress and anxiety issues by helping me relax, yet also improve my fitness and overall wellbeing (without bringing on an asthma attack!) I came across Peacock Tree Yoga and so began my yoga journey back in September. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have found Peacock Tree! Lilley has got to be one of the most warm-hearted people I've been lucky enough to meet. Her enthusiasm for life as well as yoga is infectious, which is something that really brings her teaching to life. It is an absolute pleasure to be one of her students.
C. B.
I've enjoyed yoga on and off for a few years but it wasn't until I found Peacock Tree yoga, towards the end of last year, that I was truly inspired to commit to a regular weekly practice.
Lilley's classes are very special; a total work out for body and mind. Lilley's warmth and generosity in sharing her wisdom with her students are what makes these classes different to any other I've been to.
I come away feeling refreshed, relaxed, strong, energised and often with new knowledge or awareness to take into the week ahead.
It's almost like a weekly awakening and a rest at the same time - taking my mind and body into the present, whilst providing a mini haven away from the complexities of everyday life. I love that Lilley draws my attention to nature; without this I could easily overlook the amazing things that are happening around me.
From a physical perspective my initial aim was to tone my arms for my wedding! As soon as Lilley knew this she gave me tips on how I could modify my practice to focus in this area. From my first couple of classes I noticed improvements in my balance and posture and have been building strength and flexibility ever since. My next challenge is to master a headstand.
I have benefitted enormously from being lucky enough to have found your classes Lilley and I can't thank you enough.
R. M.
I started doing yoga 3 years ago and Peacock Tree Yoga just happened to be the first class I found. I'm glad it worked out that way, because it really is the best one I've been to and I've tried a number of different classes to compare differences.
There's a great sense of community among the students, whether you're a beginner or a more advanced practitioner and the range of classes on offer cover the whole spectrum, from those just starting out, to the super fit. It's satisfying to see yourself progressing over time, and with a little dedication the transformation you can achieve is amazing.
The teaching is wonderfully structured, with Lilley somehow being able to work at the class and individual level, meaning each person receives attention and is given just the right level of challenge for them to get where they need to be.
There are physical changes - you will notice yourself becoming more balanced, stronger, leaner and having increased muscle tone, but you'll also find a quieter mind and a more conscious awareness of the present. The meditation exercises and relaxation in the classes make the effort all worthwhile as the body absorbs all the wonderful energy and you just feel great.
If you've tried yoga before and haven't really got as much out of it as you want, or if you've just heard about it and are curious to see what it's all about, then do yourself a favour and try a course at Peacock Tree Yoga, I feel quite certain you'll get a lot out of it once you try, and there's nothing to lose. Life is about experiences, so why not experience a better you.
J. C.
Peacock Tree's Yin and Yang workshop in April was one of the best yoga workshops I've ever done. It blew my mind!
It was strong and physical in the active first section and profound in the yin section, which was gentle on the body, but deep in the emotions - lots of energy moving and beautiful words spoken gently and clearly through the session.
Lilley REALLY knows her stuff. Her goal is to help every student have a better time - and a better life - thanks to yoga.
Once you sign up with Peacock Tree, you have support for life, if you want it. Peacock Tree, led by Lilley, will champion you throughout your yoga journey.
J. C.
Went to Lilley as a total beginner, she's a brilliant teacher very supportive and calming. Love my yoga classes and would thoroughly recommend Lilley to anybody of any age or ability.
E. G.
I attended the Foundation workshop at Peacock Tree this morning. It was a perfect blend of movement, breath and rest, with plenty of time and attention taken to teach the asana properly. Floated out feeling calm and strong, thank you.
N. M.
Once you start Lilley's classes you won't want to miss one! I have now been a student for a year and look forward to my class each week. My teenage daughter has just started too - invaluable with her GCSEs looming... thoroughly recommended!
J. M.
I wasn't really planning on trying Yoga - I just went along to support my wife - and it turns out its actually really good. When I started I couldn't even touch my toes and was probably the least flexible person in the world. After literally just a couple of weeks I could see real progress and am really enjoying the class. Most surprising was the mental benefit its strangely calming and helps focus the mind which I wasn't expecting. I think Lily brings the perfect balance of challenge and humor to each session so it never seems like a chore, I always feel like i'm being stretched but not over my limit and it's not too serious so you can have a laugh while you're there!
J. H.
I joined the over 50s class soon after I broke my collar bone and it has been a revelation. It has helped strengthen my back which for many years has been a problem and helped bring back full movement in my shoulder.
But the best thing about the class is the fun, companionship and the way Lilley keeps us motivated and enthusiastic and alive to the fact that getting older is an opportunity not a life sentence to the chair.
Come along on a Monday morning and enjoy!!
C. S.
I started Yoga classes with Lilley just this term, and love them! I find myself really looking forward to Tuesdays each week :-) Lilley is an amazing teacher and knows just when to help you push that bit harder to reach your own potential.
K. &. T.
Lilley is a wonderfully creative and engaged teacher. I feel totally welcomed and accepted for where I am at in my yoga practice. As a beginner this has encouraged me enormously. I would highly recommend Lilley and her classes.
B. L.
I have been going to Lilly's Monday morning class for several years. I find it helps keep me flexible , we are encouraged to do what we can, If we find the move too much we just stop and relax, each of us are at our own level, we are encouraged to try to push ourselves a little harder each time, but if we cant no problem!. Everyone is friendly and Lilly always has a smile on her face, and we have a good laugh. I miss when I cant attend due to holidays or Illness.
J. B.
Brilliant. After six weeks and a workshop I have amazed myself at what I can now achieve. The classes are great, friendly and go so quickly. As a 50 something year old man I would recommend this to anyone. The first lesson is always going to daunting however nothing to concern you here. Lilley and Louise soon put you at ease and it is enjoyable and an excellent workout. So good I have already signed up for the next course!

I can’t emphasise enough how glad I am that I finally got around to booking myself onto the Peacock Tree Essentials Yoga class. I’m only in week 2 but I got quite emotional at the end of Tuesday’s session when I realised that my neck and back pain had eased and my mind had stopped racing. I can definitely see how in time this practice will be life changing for me so thank you so much Lilley for encouraging me to join and I now have a reason to look forward to Tuesdays!

Amazing yoga class, every week I come out a different person feeling relaxed, calm and have the best nights sleep! Such a sense of achievement learning new practices and after struggling with back problems since the age of 14 I've found my miracle cure! Massive thanks to Lilley and the team.

I started Yoga in January 2015 and at first having never tired yoga before, I must admit I was a little uncertain about what yoga could really do for me. I'm a builder so not exactly your average yogi, I'm neither a dream catcher or a tree hugging hippie but I thought what the heck, I'll give anything ago once! Some may say I was sceptical student.
I couldn't have been more wrong. Lilley just has one of those personalities that just lifts you! Her passion for teaching yoga spreads throughout class like wild fire and you can see and feel students absorbing her energy, it’s contagious. Before yoga I generally flapped around like a penguin on ice from one task to another without any downtime, thinking it's normal for modern life, I'm just busy and productive. Through Lilley however, I've learned how to channel my energy, focus on the important and essentially how to relax. As such I have become a much calmer and cooler cucumber.
I've been with Lilley and Peacock tree for a year now, and all scepticism has gone, I'm fitter, stronger and more focused than ever before, and to be honest I've become abit of a yoga junkie! Don't get me wrong, you still won't find me in park grounds with a daisy chain around my forehead and a henna tattoo, but that's just it, you take from yoga whatever you need. Lilley is a true professional and an excellent yoga teacher and I would highly recommend Peacock tree to everyone, even the sceptics.

I absolutely love this yoga class. Lilley is a fantastic teacher, calm, funny and she seems to be able to attune herself to each individual, whatever their ability and personality and realise their potential. I feel serene, refreshed and supple after her class whatever sort of day I might have had. She sets me up for the week.

Really enjoy my Tuesdays with Lilley. I feel the benefit both physically and mentally ... actually - let's bolt spiritually onto that as well. I feel so much better that I get cross when necessity has forced me to miss a class - but I can almost hear Lilley gently advising: "just practice at home then". Also helps me with various joint problems I have.
I can't recommend this class highly enough.

I have so enjoyed being part of the Peacock tribe and found Lilley to be incredibly inspirational and motivating - along with the school's other teachers. Thank you again for all the care and support you gave as a team especially while I did my yoga teacher training.

I have been going to Peacock Tree Yoga for 18 month's now, and it has been a revelation. Although you can never say I am shy, it was with some trepidation that I approached my first session. Pretty much straight away I was made very welcome, and over the months my aches and pains have eased, and my general well being has come on leaps and bounds. If you are looking for a Yoga class with a difference then this is the one for you.

Lilley and Yoga - once met never forgotten. As a man getting past his prime, it was time three years ago to do some self help. My wife encouraged me to attend and we now are improvers (!!) and weekly regulars. Lilley's style and enthusiasm are infectious, and I don't think I have ever left a class without thinking " I am really glad I made the effort and came".
I wondered initially if I might be the only bloke, but I was pleased to discover not only are there plenty of us in the classes, but also as the months have gone by, it is noticeable that the retention rate of students is very high. A tribute to the quality of the classes.
I cannot compare PTY to other yoga classes as I have not done any, but to anyone out there thinking I really must get my body and mind sorted - this could be a really good first step.

A great place to learn and practice yoga. I started going to the beginners class a few months after having my fist baby. Before pregnancy I had always been pretty fit but due to a few complications with childbirth I was unable to go back to my usual high impact fitness classes. I wanted to do something that helped me get my strength back, tone my body and calm my mind.
I can honestly say I have more muscle tone in my legs now than when I used to go to the gym 4 times a week!
The classes and teachers are brilliant. It's a relaxed class so you never feel intimidated by others, you do what you can and wear what want!

A really welcoming yoga school. The locations are beautiful and spacious and the teaching is clear and peaceful and always adapted to what you need on the day. I already feel stronger, calmer and more flexible after just 4 classes. Highly recommended.

This is a wonderful class which benefits body and soul in equal measures! Lilley and her team are dedicated, enthusiastic and very supportive of learners at all levels - really great yoga school.

Pregnancy yoga with the Peacock Chicks was just wonderful. A little slice of calm on my Monday nights and having a ready made support group for when the babies arrived has been invaluable. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of taking a pregnancy class!!

Fab place to meet other expectant Mums in a fun yoga environment. Doesn't matter if you have never done yoga before (I hadn't!) and the techniques for breathing are really helpful...a 100% must for any mums to be...and helps keep u fit and supple too!!!

Lilley's class has been keeping me supple and improving my strength. Now my daughter comes to the class and loves it too. Lilley's an inventive, reassuring and encouraging teacher - and fun.

I can honestly say you only ever come across a minority of people who are genuinely devoted and passionate about what they do...Lilley is one of these people. If, like me, you are intrigued and interested in exploring what yoga is all about, don't look any further than Peacock Tree, you will not find anywhere better, anyone more knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to be guided by and it is the best hour of my week!!

Lilley practices what she preaches, leading you to achieve mind, body and soul balance. She inspires commitment and dedication for you to show up weekly on your mat. Consequently you'll feel the benefits and see the results in weeks.

It took Lilley's class for me to 'get it'. How incredible yoga can be. Lilley's approach really resonates with me and I highly recommend her classes and workshops.
