I attended Amanda's masterclass :' Leverage Social !' expecting, I guess, to learn more about how to master google analytics, set up fb ads, etc. I confess I wasn't exactly jumping for joy, but it had to be done. However the information I received prior to the event had piqued my interest and I felt there might just be more to it. I do not regret following that instinct for a second. In summary, I am an innately private person with a secret horror of social media and yes here I am putting that down in an online review (!) In answer to Amanda's question ' What do you want from social media ?' I heard my voice saying ' I want it to go away'. But I realised I was there because I needed to learn to trust that I can use it in a positive way to build my business. Amanda's session helped me to find ways to do that , to finally 'get' what I needed from social media . Plus I learned more about the marketing process in that afternoon than I had ever fully understood. There were so many light bulb moments, encouraging and thought provoking prompts,that I can't possibly list them but I came away with ideas, action points, and feeling truly motivated by the whole experience. Amanda is insightful, intuitive and brimful of invaluable knowledge. From an early age she has watched, learned and gathered experience, not only on how to treat customers once you have them, but on the whole customer journey, from how to identify, attract, engage, interact , and then secure repeat business/customer loyalty. She has worked with major corporations, and her ability to adapt and pivot her insights and advice to help small businesses interpret their needs, is testament to her deep understanding of the whole customer journey. She encourages you to see that what makes you stand apart is you, and that you don't have to do what everyone else does, you have to do what you need, identify and implement what will work for you in order to reach your ideal customer. When I attended the session I had known for ages I needed to sort out my website amongst other things that were overwhelming me. A few weeks later I was invited to a follow up session with Amanda. By then I had taught myself how to edit my current website beyond just the mere basics I knew; including populating it with more photos, image galleries,and even a photo of us, which was a major turning point for me (!) It's not perfect at all, but it's getting me bookings and I was also working on a brand new site which will do exactly what I need.I had found free online training to help with this, how to reach my ideal customers, and wordpress training resources to help me manage the new site. I had posted some more personal content on our fb page , was working on videos to post, started a blog ( very early days) but with ideas for how to develop this further and a few other exciting ideas. Still taking baby steps, but I never would have taken the giant stride if not for meeting Amanda. She is a true professional; her delivery style is measured, gentle yet powerful, and full of pure gold nuggets of information, but she also doesn't pull her punches. She challenges you, gets to the core of what you need to consider, and encourages you not only to step out of your 'comfort zone' , but also to discard what's irrelevant or unnecessary . I came away from the follow up session with more actions/ideas and I am now working on what I need to do , and how to make time to do it . But I feel equipped, enthused and ready to make it work I know this is a long review but I wanted to show how meeting the right person at what for me was a wrong time, can make it into the right time. It can change your outlook, your perceptions and encourage you as Amanda said , 'to feel the fear, and do it anyway' I hope I have the chance to work with Amanda again ,and would not hesitate to recommend anyone to take the opportunity to do so. I began working with Amanda as I was at a transitional point in my business. I was very comfortable in my private practice seeing clients 1:1 but felt that it was time for me to expand.
