Selby's is cool. You however can find similar or the same generic items in Argos at times. But it's a really comfortable place to shop so that's why I go here. I did have an issue a few months back in the lower ground floor, with the staff member following me around. He asked me a few times if I wanted any help and I did not. There was no reason to keep bothering me and following me. He did this on purpose to intimidate me.

I used to visit Jane’s Selby back in 1968, with my mum, and have always loved going there. I went there this morning to buy some (erm...) ladies undergarments. The assistant, Nadia Anafcheh, went out of her way to assist me. Very professional, helpful and kind. Very rare, good old fashioned shopping experience.

Love Selby's and miss it since I have been abroad, but every time I am back in Islington visiting family I always pay Selbys a visit. I am not one for traipsing around shops so Selbys is perfect for my needs. Lots of brands, departments, always plenty of staff available. Quality products and a cafe for coffee. I hope they survive what must have been a difficult year for them, as with all business. I just checked their website to see if they had moved any products online, so that I could send presents, and it prompted me to leave a well deserved review.

Shopping liked it used to be and all the better for it in my opinion. Purchased a couple of new Dunlopillo pillows and assistant couldn't have been more helpful with his advice and checking what was in stock. An added bonus was that the pillows I purchased were substantially cheaper than on Amazon. Top marks all round and remember to SHOP LOCAL and help stores like Selbys.

Really surprisingly good department store on the Holloway Road. There for a white Benneton blouse + they also stock Espirit so plenty of temptation. My old stomping ground! Haven't been in this store for decades, used to walk down from my Highbury flat.... Happy days

I was passing through Selbys as I had just come from M&S. A lovely welcoming lady named Maxine approached me and asked if I were interested in getting measured. As she was so polite and helpful I finally found some items worth purchasing. Her customer service was outstanding & I would definitely return to her next time I visit your store.

Very good selection for a moderately sized department store. The store is always well organised and well staffed. There is a Nero café on the first floor that is kind of an oasis from the high street and Nags Head market bustle. Considering the size of the store, there is a surprisingly large toy section. Dinnerware, cookware and kitchen appliances area is also decent.

Great shopping for adult clothing (Top Shop, Dorothy Perkings, Miss Selfridges etc). However, the toy's section upstairs is a lot more expensive that expected. Nearby stores selling the same toys for at least 30% cheaper. Also, such a shame for Warehouse leaving- they had good clothes!

It is a good local department store Interesting and a big selection of toys for kids - They also have a big Le creuset collection in Kitchen and a very good selection of ustensile. They have good brands such as Topshop - Dorothy Perkins ...and good skin care REN , NEOM, Clarins And Clinique. Personally I shop there as it is very easy to access and they have good brands for Holloway / Tufnell Park / Highgate /Archway / Highbury and Finsbury Park area. Staff are lovely too. Négative : No Parking and could improve their website.

I actually received very good service from the lady in tights section (shame I don't remember her name). I needed to buy toeless tights, which I have never bought before. She really knew her stock and explained the difference between different types and helped to choose the one I wanted. Very friendly and polite.

I mostly go in here for kitchenware. You get to see things before you buy them (unlike Argos a few doors down), and they do have some good quality stuff. But there's a fair bit of low-quality goods too. Sometimes I come in, look at something, then decide to hop on the tube to John Lewis and buy it there instead.

Some very nice items in this store. Their cookware section is especially well-stocked and there is a good selection available. There is also a Caffe Nero incorporated into the store (top floor) which is nice to have.

Family run independent dapartment store. Catering for the local community. They have infact stores in Brixton, Ilford and I believe Romford. I worked there a few years early 90s. They are affiliated with Debenham's in central London and have been given permission to hold the famous blueX day sale. Believe me you can snatch a bargian.

The ground floor sells designer cosmetics and perfumes, alongside Topshop, Faith, Dorothy Perkins, Warehouse, United Colours of Benetton and a few more. You’ll also find a nice range of Cath Kidston gift sets and pretty soaps (excellent for last-minute gifts). The second floor sells toys and homeware like bedding and cooking equipment. Again, nothing special but it’s useful to have something like this so close by.
