Such a friendly business. My camera had stopped working properly and they were able to fix it for me very quickly with a simple reset. They didn't even charge me for doing this. They obviously have lots of knowledge and experience

Thanks to the guys at LCE and SWAROVSKI for repairing my binoculars for free, even though they were outside the warranty period. Great service isn't a given, no matter how much money you spend. Top marks.

Went in with a broken camera to see if it was repairable - a service they told me had to be done by sending it to the camera’s manufacturer, yet all of the staff were incredibly helpful at diagnosing the problem and testing parts of the camera for me. They didn’t try and force a brand new camera down my throat, either, when it was found to be a very expensive repair and instead recommended I try secondhand. Would recommend and use their advice again!

Fantastic range of equipment, keenly priced. Unfortunately they couldn't help with a camera repair problem I have, due to my circumstances not there's. However, if time wasn't an issue, the problem would be resolved. 4 star rating because disabled parking is some distance from the premises.

I had to get some filters and a memory card. Popped in to the shop and the range wasn't much and I had to settle for what little they had. Anyway I didn't get to use the memory card and returned it a couple of days later on my way back. While they accepted the return, I was treated as if I had committed a fraud. No hello what can we do for you etc. Just take the card, give the money and turned his back on me. I have dealt with LCE in Strand for many years and the staff there are wonderful. I expected a similar experience. Perhaps it explains why the shop seemed deserted while Jessops a few yards down looked busy.

Another visit to the Nottingham branch of London Camera Exchange on Saturday. This time I was served by Aaron junior who was very helpful in letting me try out a camera and lens in the store and provided all the information I needed to make a purchase. Highly recommended.

All I can say is the staff here bend over backwards for customer service. I have bought new and had repairs done here and they cannot do enough for you. Where camera equipment is concerned I will alway buy from here now on, you might be able to get it cheaper online but that personal touch more than makes up for the extra cost.

I have been a customer here for over 40 years and although the staff may have changed the customer service hasn't - they were excellent then and they are still excellent today. On my last two visits I bought a Manfrotto bag and a Sony a6000. On each occasion Aaron senior (there's an Aaron junior too) got me to fill out a few extra forms that other sellers wouldn't find the time to help with. The upshot was - free extra bag from Manfrotto and cashback from Sony. Result - happy customer and more repeat business.

I've bought two digital cameras from the Nottingham branch of LCE, and both times I felt I had very good service, good advice, and fair prices. I did have to haggle a bit, but as I said, in the end I came away feeling like I had done well. The guy who served me (same one both times - boss maybe??) was very knowledgeable and helpful. He couldn't match the best price I'd seen for the Olympus E510 (£349.95), but he was fair at £360. He also sold me a bag for half price, and a 2 gig memory card. He DID offer a good deal on a second lens, but I really didn't need it. I would say don't bother with the other shops, as the LCE has it all, but best of all, they had the camera in stock - the other shops didn't!
